FORD, if you read this,, please, now that the mustang is a sports car, don't ruin it.. keep evolving and following the path to make a world respected sports car.. I have a 15 performance package and this is the only mustang I have ever been interested in sense the 03-04 cobras.
Eugene Conner I know that on a straight line the Mustang is faster, it has the same power as the Camaro but less weight, it's obviously going to win. What I meant is that if the Perf pack 2 is faster or atleast equal to the Camaro SS 1LE on a track, I doubt it, but it'll be cool to see them atleast equal.
The performance pack 1 was embarrassed by the 1LE according to test that i have seen but the performance pack 2 looks much better than the standard gt and I'm sure it is capable of speeds that we couldn't really enjoy on the street.

Performance level two cost $6,500. I have no problem with that at all. But they force you to upgrade to a 301A interior package which cost $2,000. So you have to pay for those features even if you don’t care for them. Ford is fucking up. Camaro ss 1LE doesn’t make you pay for any extra interior package. Only problem is that in order to get blind spot assistance in the camaro, u do need To upgrade the interior package. Keep your hand on the shifter when going through the gears quickly. Not back and fourth. That's why people miss gears. And, tell Ford to put some actual "daytime night" DRL's in front in place of those dull, dim tri-bar tooth picks.
As cool as the performance pack 2... and it is very cool..... magnetic ride control just doesn't make sense. Magnetic ride control is a luxury, id much rather get some track tuned adjustable dampers a la Boss 302.
i really wish ford put a good interior in this ford gt 500 .thats the only reason many not buying this car.and if need a complete perfomance put up a new version as gt500r with no comfort but full of action

Idk why ford doesn’t just make a legit performance pack and just one for the GT. I know they don’t want to hurt sales or whatever on the gt 350 but come on. I’m a camaro guy and I know a mustang can compete if they gave it all the gt350 goodies and cut some weight. Mustangs have great potential I just don’t get why ford doesn’t put real effort into the GT.
On the track keep it third BS. Ford tried that same thing during my experience and guess what. Not ! You drive a manual and you down shift and up shift. I did it my way and the instructor eventually said ok.
those are not sport car essentials. these are meant to go fast at the track and be able to drive home with no issues. Its a purist thing that only those of us hardcore car guys admire and respect.
kubanskiloewe like I said, only real car guys will go for the purest car. Being faster does not mean more fun. You can feel the Camaro extra weight and it’s massive transfer. The mustang is honestly more fun to drive. You’d have to test both and corned with them to understand. On the challenger you feel the rear wobble, and the car has s high center of gravity. I have driven all 3 cars and have owned two of them already
lol, i drove Mustang 2012-14 automatic and the new one (shifter) and now the new Camaro (automatic) too as well as a few thousand a C7Z51 shifter. I had most fun in the Mustangs and Camaro automatic. ....C7 shifter is bad because of shitty gear steps; 5th to long, 6th useless and 7th only for cruising. It has NOTHING to do with fun or competition gear for a track or for our fast autobahn; ok for autobahn its alright most times but sometimes against performance cars you feel the bad gear steps in the C7 manual !!
Of coarse wait tell 2019, it always takes Ford 2 years to catch up. Venom kills demons in 2 years, GT 500 kills Camaro sure in 2 years. How anyone can get excited about these cars is beyond me.
Well, it's kinda true, when Chevy beated the 2011 GT500 with the 2012 ZL1 and made basically everyone forget that the Boss 302 existed, Ford was like "Put more powaaaahhh!!!" and we got the 2013 GT500, with little changes over the 2011 one, it was faster in a straight line than the ZL1, but the ZL1 was the better handling one. Then we got the Z/28 and Ford was like "We need a track Mustang!!!!!" and we got the GT350R (yes I know that the 302 was supposed to be a track mustang, but the ZL1 had better handling, and it wasn't even 100% track focused). Now ford has it more difficult, they have 1 of 2 options, either keep chasing Chevy with the GT500 and make it a Track Car to rival the ZL1 1LE, or they go Dodge's way and build a Drag Car. You can say they can just do both, but I say fuck that, it would take too much money, but if they managed to do that, well... Damn Ford, props to you.
