REAL HELLS KITCHEN 48 I’ve only been the last 3 years. How has it changed or what was different in the past? I think it’s inevitable that these types of cultural festivals change over time - nothing in society stays the same, for better or for worse...

I feel you but everything back in the days was better.Im from BK living in Long Island and there's not 1 PR restaurant in all of LI.I just found out the last cuchifrito alot in BK just closed on Broadway and AVENIA DE PUERTO RICO.SMH. It's real sad Nuyoricans have to go to the Bronx for real Puerto Rican food.My families from PR but raised in the LES and those spots are closed also.MY POPS TOLD ME IT'S BECAUSE OUR RASA IS MOVING UP INTO BETTER THINGS.we had all the bodegas restaurants we had the taxi industry locked we had the botanicas the record stores and many more .Now we've moved on and left that to the Dominicans and Mexicans and Indians.Just like the projects and ghettos.PR have big houses in the suburbs and careers making 6 figures.No disrespect to other races but keep grinding till you make it to the top.

You should visit NYC one year - on the Saturday they have the festival and on the Sunday there is the parade. So it's a huge weekend in the middle of June every year!

What defines/entails Puerto Ricans ? well.....music, salseros, food, la gente, language, unity, Taino/African/Spaniard bloodline, PR anthem La Borinqueña" which is the proud national anthem of Puerto Rico. Puerto Roc de Ponce/Bronx
