It was a huge venue, which means that the sound system was much louder than guitar and bass amps. In smaller clubs, the main sound system has to fight those amps, which means that I hardly ever get anything into my board feed.
"Live and Let Die" was superb. Except for a couple of songs, this has been the best School of Rock I've seen yet. And I've watched quite a few. I just love to see kids (teenagers) having fun and rockin' out.
Just outstanding! One song better than the one before it. Left me wanting to see more - hope that Set 2 is available. "Would I Lie To You" just blew me away. So much talent on that stage.
I’ve shown this set to so many people that love Rock and dread the future. I use it as a DON’T FRET bit of true evidence that there’s a young generation trying to break through right now - and they’re fantastic! Please support live music wherever you find it. Call your local SOR or visit their website and check their live schedules!
Also look for Lauren Cianci (keyboards) Babylon Sisters, and any song that Rebecca Webster plays drums on. These are the Big Three from SOR. Two others I have not identified are the keyboard player on In The Light and Space Trucking (vocal), and the girl in the green dress on I've Seen All Good People.
Glad you like it. I managed to shoot full concerts at 5 of the 7 AllStars Teams last year by running a Kickstarter to support my expenses. I hope to do it again this year and hopefully get all 7 teams.
Loved this video! With due apologies to the rest of the guys there are three standouts for me. Lauren Merenda....what a great she has! Absolutely nailed it! Sunshower32's daughter....can she play bass or what? Fantastic! Finally the girl drummer.........great to see someone of her age play like that! Smashed it!
I'm based in the Midwest, which is why most of the content on my channel is from here. I loved shooting at Union Transfer - excellent venue, great sight-lines and the staff are total pros.
First off kudos to all the students and for the most part great performance. A couple of things I did notice were, it's too busy on the stage. It's ok to relax and have fun with the music but that much jumping around is not a good thing. I met Joe Walsh backstage at an eagles concert and he said "sometimes less is more" it seemed like some of the vocals were forced and the performer was fighting to breathe. Also sound crews need to work on balance most of the time all I could hear were drums and guitar vocals were weak especially on the low ends. All in all great job guys and keep on Rocking. It takes a lot just to get on the stage but remember most of all to have fun and try not to over perform it.
Little Girl? No, not that!😑 It’s 2023, my “little girl” was the frontperson for her SoR House Band and every side band she was ever in. She was 14-17+ at the time. As a lead guitarist she caught some shit being female. It’s getting better even now just 6 years later. These people are: students, young musicians, band members, rockers, guys, gals, young ladies, young men, kids (they might bristle at that one!😬), etc. but none of them are “Little Girls.” Even if you were just fooling around would you ever call one of the guys a “Little Boy?” Chris PS - That young bassist can rock it!!! If you think I’m too PC think how you’d feel if that was your daughter working so hard for years to be fully, equally accepted in that role as the kickass bassist in a great Rock n Roll Band and hear “Little Girl?”
Don’t feel bad. My son is on bass and we never heard of it before this. Turns out to be a great song. I’m biased, but I like this cover as much as the original.
mhellman2000 its a great song I was there and couldn’t get it out of my head lol. I could say I like their version better than the original, but white denim is a new fav of mine now. I actually play drums at Sor and have the third round of allstar auditions tomorrow, so maybe I’ll meet your son one day haha
Pink shirt Dude... Sing so good.. Empty your front pockets b4 going onstage, though.. Makes me wonder what's all in them that you need with you at all times... LOL
They did a decent job on Number of the Beast, but the girl singing lead couldn't do the blood curdling scream as well as I've heard done by the O'Keefe Music Foundation team. That fellow can do it right!
