Pulled this bad dent from a concrete column!
Video case study of how an autobody style pulling and tapping method was used to move strong dents. We're going to be clever instead of strong.
This is a dent repair in an akward spot and needed an incredible amount of controlled power to overcome the stored energy in the dent. In this case we use strong glue pulling power off of a concrete post and add the action of rolling the buckled up sheetmetal. I can't imagine pushing this dent out with pushing only; the power and leverage would be extreme.
Most Paintless dent repair is push-then-tap, this method is pull-and-tap.
The idea is to pull and tap at the same time. We attempt to direct the spot where the metal should go with a constant straight pull. We move the buckled up metal to that spot we are pulling. We create an artificial "gravity" for the metal and energy to flow.

About the dent:
The affected size was about 8" and around a highy angled bodyline. The metal is likely High Strength Steel (HSS) and is very very strong. This problem has compounded difficulty, the dent is:
- around several compound bodylines (bends)
- general geometry of all the strong shapes
- metal is made of HSS, as mentioned above.
High strength steel is modern family of steels that has a multiple phases. Some phases are hardened and some phases are soft. This complex steel alllows for good forming properties during manufacturing, but by the time it is stamped it is all strengthened. The automotive industry uses it for it strength so the parts can be thinner and lighter. Lighter = more fuel efficiency.
