I'm British, I don't support Hamilton. I've been a big Kimi fan since his first season so was very happy today. Sure Hamilton is fast, calm & consistent, but I've just never warmed to him. He bores me, sorry (not sorry)

Vettel hasn't lead a single lap in five races in a row. He's losing it mentally and meanwhile Kimi is taking wins and pole positions... Think about that.
Kimi really did roll back the years in this race. British fans that have only come along since Hamilton started clearing up probably dont realise how amazing to watch a prime Kimi was. Japan 2005 and Spa 2004 were very special.
Dave Bowman Pause it at 1:59 and 2:00 and tell me again there is no space to make an overtake move? Alonso was WEEEEELLLLL wide there and Stroll was following the car ahead. He would've ended up making the pass off track and would have needed to give it back but there was a clear opportunity to overtake and Alonso closed the door. The car on Alonso's outside went wide so there was no one there blocking Alonso from taking it wider.
Funnily ... Both Lewis and Max said it wasn't an intense battle between them...each giving one another oodles of room? funny how things look differently to the spectator...and more importantly...the commentators...compared with what the actual drivers are thinking about it.
Lewis on the "On the Grid" show said that anytime he is around Max is more aware of him. Just shows that Lewis has learned to give space to an aggressive driver. Which is good on his part, instead of spinning every collision like Vettel.
I was only 7 years old when Kimi won the world championship I was 13 when Kimi win the last time in Australia with the Lotus! Now i am 18 years old and Kimi win again. He make my childhood beautiful while i always support him in front of the TV. Thank you Kimi!

Engines isn't the problem, its aero that prevents overtaking ... as proven by Hamilton going from closing on Verstappen at 1 second a lap to stuck around 1-1.5 behind him. - For me they should bring back refuelling. I know it adds extra risk to the sport but it's naturally a risk sport and the advancements in fireproofing take away a lot of the risk. But refuelling opens up more flexibility with strategy, the choice to run shorter fast stints or slower long ones.
also on the refuelling point. The worst that could happen is that the hose is pulled off and there is a small fire. Everyone in the pitlane has a fireproof suit. It happened to Kimi Raikkonen once and he was able to finish the race. There would also be less rush changing the tyres because the refuelling takes longer
@@DaveMcKeegan the 1-1.5sec in this case was caused by his his choices made regarding racing lines. Yes, the aero is a problem most of the time, though.

Raikkonen has cracked a record by Schumacher today. And the timespan from his first victory to his last victory today is 15 years, 6 months and 28 days! Before that, Schumacher's record was 14 years, 1 month and 1 day. Congratulations to Kimi for winning the race. I allowed him the most!

Its not because its fake. Remember Toto´s reaction when Bottas won? Its genuine on both occasions, but when the 2nd driver gets to win a race, might be more special to team bosses.

He is the reason why Kimi is still at Ferrari after his awful 2014 season and under performing 2015 season. He is the only Ferrari crew attending Kim's wedding. Had Marchionne didn't already promise ferrari seat to LeClerc, He will already Re-signed kimi by July. Unlike Toto who have total control on the whole Mercedes Racing team (not only in F1). He actually have some limitations in his position

dwon da Yes that was an amazing drive and battle. He is my favorite driver. But wow the bottom pack of drivers are absolute trash. It seems like they cannot hold a position let alone stop from driving into each other haha
Who cares about us, he deserved it the most. For all 2nd driver work they've finally let him breathe. Sadly it's his last year in a competitive car, sad because he's more consistent and skilled than Seb, although a bit slower.
I think it was more to do with Kimi’s age more than anything. I believe in their opinion (I disagree) he’s at the end whereas Vettel still has a few more years in him yet.
Vitor Ferreira I agree Kimi was off the pace in his second stint at Ferrari, but I’m not sure that was entirely his fault. The Ferrari has been dodgy for a long while. I don’t think it’s possible for you to drop that much, compared to how he was in the Lotus previously. From what I can see Vettel got favoured as he was seen as the better driver (as he had more championships). Which only added insult to injury.

What a race! Absolute nailbiter. Kimi's fair and square victory is just the cherry on top. Kimi and Hamiltons battle was a master class in offensive v defensive driving, no impossible dives down the inside, forcing each other of the track or swerving under braking, pure class from two legends!
Wait Balthy even as a Hamilton fan I can easily say I loved seeing kimi drive to victory once again. The guy deserved at least a couple of wins from the start of last season. He won fair and square. I think Hamilton should’ve pitted at around lap 34 so he was ahead of verstappen but what can u do. I don’t make the decisions haha. Grazie Kimi
Yes good battle. They've had a handful of battles throughout the years and there's always a good respect level. The battle lasted longer than normal these days, cause they weren't trying to barge each other off the track.
Give Kimi a priority and a good strategy, And he'll give you a race to remember. As a Ferrari fan, I finally have something to smile about this season. It is kind of weird when Ferrari strategists can’t figure out a good strategy through out the season but somehow correctly calculated that Ham needs to pit twice. Anyways Kimi wins and that’s enough.
roso tifosi i agree! if kimi didn't take the hole shot, it woulda been quite different. clean air keeps the car running longer and better. strategists just benefited from great kimi's perf.
I remember everyone saying after this race that Lewis scared of max, and then in Silverstone everyone saying lewis crazy driving put max in hospital, it turns out they were wrong on at least one of these 🤣
Well, RedBull clearly was 100% focused on Max since Austria 2018. Countless failures of Ricciardos Car in 2018 and still managed to win in China and Monaco when he had no issues.
I hope that there will be more in the future! What make it interesting is that they are drivers with totaly different drive-styles! Today it was a clean and entertaining fight!

One of the best races in hybrid era. No need for safety car or bad weather, just pure strategy and great on-track battle. Kimi drove perfectly, and finally Ferrari made a very great strategy here.

He's definitely picked the right time to leave RBR. They are putting all their eggs in Verstappens basket and don't seem to have great form at the moment, or indeed this generation of F1. Renault has all the money, prestige and potential in the world...especially with new regs just around the corner. Daniel is playing the long game with this move.

I have a theory that McLaren built an actual competitive car, they saw Fernando and vandoorne winning. Then they got over confident and tried to kick back and relax and ended up falling completely behind

Ferrari NEVER gave Raikönen teamorders to let Vettel by except for Germany because it was Sebastian's home GP, never even when he was slouching behind like 6th in Canada whilst his teammate won in a dominant way. Or that pathetic job he did in China last year losing to 2 fighting Bulls whilst Vettel overtook all three of them. They let him get second in Austria, allowed him to fight for pole in Italy, they give Raikkonen preferable treatment, not Vettel. They gave ANOTHER teamorder in Brazil when FIA sabotaged Vettel's car with the sensor (aftter trying to sabotage him in quallie) It's undeniable that Kimi is crap and Vettel an awesome driver. As a Ferrari fan i want Ferrari to have a better driver. Not a drunk, unmotivated loser that's not interested in his fans, doesn't want to work on the car, can only be fast with lots of frontend and complains about everything and never delivers.

Insane race by Max. The overtakes in the first 5 laps, the tire management, the defending against Lewis. If the Honda motor turns out to be a match he'll fight for the WC next season.
