Celebrating its 73rd year, the Voice of Democracy program's 2019-20 theme asked students to reflect on "What Makes America Great." First-place winner Shruthi Kumar, sponsored by VFW Post 1581 and its Auxiliary in Omaha, Neb., received an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C., where she was presented with the T.C. Selman Memorial Scholarship award in the amount of $30,000. Great job Shruthi!
