I have this kit on my truck, note that your rear shocks will be too short, and will limit downward travel causing the rear tires to loose contact with the ground on big bumps. You can add a shock extension if your shocks are new, or I ordered bilstein 5100s for a trailboss, and they fit perfectly. Also, in front I found it easier to loosen the sway bar link out of the control arm rather than out of the sway bar, and you should take the drive axle nut off the allow the stud to slide in the hole 😉. That will keep pressure off of the drive axle and keep from ripping a boot.
@Inkd_dad I have stock upper control arms and the angle is perfect. This kit sets you half an inch taller than a stock trail boss in front. Trailboss uses the same stock control arms, so you shouldn't need control arms to correct the ball joint angle. If you're going to add bilsteins in front, then get the ones that are longer and provide lift, then you won't need to add this kit in front. I did bilsteins in back because I had shock adapters and didn't like the ride, and also they kept coming loose and making noise, so I put on 5100s for a trail boss, and they work perfectly and improved the ride. I still have the stock struts and springs in front with this kit on them.
My RST 275/60-20s are 33s and is stock height. I’m running Falken all terrains and there’s no run. Also I thought a 2in front would level it so I’m confused about a 2.5 front and 2 in rear. Lastly the trail boss has a different CV axle design because its design to go from its 2in lift over std heights to 2in plus. Reason this is important is that if you lift more than /in on a stock base height Silverado the are CVs will not last long if you are using your truck off-road heavily.
I think there is still alittle rake with this lift. I read another review where a guy said he needed only 1 inch block in back for level but it might depend on trim package.
@@Fpv___ ya you might have to do more adjustments to get it the way you like it Keep it up until your happy For some reason it’s never is what it claims ✌️🇨🇦
Not quite level, still up a little in the back, but close to level. I use my truck as a truck and like the little bit of height in back. It sits level with the camper hitched up.
I just installed this kit in my 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 Elevation X31 Double Cab. And after the installation the front wheels lost their alignment and I feel vibrations when accelerating from 0 to 30 mph, and when braking and slowing down to full stop. The installer said that it's because the suspension needs to settle down, I have to come back after 100miles and they will tighten up the bolts, they said vobration should go away, not sure this is the case. I'm concerned the drive shaft or ball joints are is at an agle that causes vibration wearing out the U joints prematurely. Also the ride is stiffer, rear shoks were extended and when going on bumps the suspension travel gets to the flly extended positon and the wheel jumps having an uncomfortable hit at the back of the truck. I called I might remove this kit if the issues continue in the next few weeks. For the missalignment, the installer said he is not responsible for it! America Trucks should cover it. Will seewhat happens, if I don't get all these issues soted out I will remove this kit. Not worth compromising the ride quality.
@32:35 "so with the U bolts all tightened up , and fastened to factory spec" (i e rammed on with a air gun, so it must be tight enough) LOL .. I saw no torque wrench anywhere.
Can I put this lift your 2 1/2 inch or 33 inch tires for the thing is my Chevy Silverado what’s a 2023 2.7 L four-cylinder please let me know if that is bad idea please let me know.
We don't recommend stacking blocks. The lift kit you currently have may also have tolerances to the 5 inches that wouldn't work well with the 2-2.5" addition.
@@xstablishedtv it'd work fine then. You may need to get a longer drop hitch to compensate for the extra 2 inches of bumper height and keep your trailer level.
You can fit 33x12.5r18 on a stock truck with no lift, on stock wheels. some say they've put 35s on with this kit, it may or may not rub. My 33s look tiny
If you rewatch it. You can see it up on the screen and her say this is excluded from the AT4 AND Trailboss models. Meaning they cannot be installed on those trims
I'd recommend doing it if you have room in your budget! It'll lead to your truck handling better and correcting geometry angles after the leveling kit is installed. -Zach
This is not correct, you need to turn the strut 180 degrees for spring to run like designed! This guy is stress the strut lower rubber not recommended…..
@@ronnyfen2406 ok, so you have no idea what the snow belt areas do to ALL vehicles from the salt put down to clear the roads. Your only comparing your environment instead of the rest of the world. If that mazda was driven in the snow belt, it to would be long gone and in the junk yard or crushed as scrap long ago.
