Killer walk through. Just picked up a 2020 XLT 3.0 4wd screw 6.5 bed. K&N drop in filter + afe intake tube = 32mpg @ 65mph. Rear locking diff is awesome with this diesel. Crawls through stupid stuff easily. Awesome truck. Too bad it’s discontinued.
It has definitely made it to the Australian Ford Ranger (and Everest) in 2022! But not sure about other markets in Asia. It did not make it to the Philippines, unfortunately. And I very much doubt Ford Malaysia will be able to sell any 3.0 Rangers, due to the exhorbitant road taxes which penalise large engine capacities.
@@tempestv8 you know what. I perfer the Ecoboost instead of that 3.0 power stroke. The belt for the high-pressure fuel pump is at the back of the engine that requires taking the engine out or the body out. And it is a rubber timing belt. The 3.0 Ecoboost is a dual injection has port and direct injection. No problems for the carbon. Sounds good too. But expect that engine to be a gashog.
@@tempestv8 and another thing... This power stroke 3.0 is from the land rover that ford produced. That engine is has a very serious problem overtime. Its crank shaft tends to break in half. I hope ford solved that issue.
@@projectyuma7456 The Ranger Raptor for Australia will come with the 3.5 litre V6 petrol engine. As for the V6 diesel, apparently the crankshaft is now forged, so it should be a lot stronger than the previous cast unit. And the bearings are now a different material, at least this is for the F-150. Hopefully the same improvements make it to all the V6 Ford Rangers. So far the 2.7 TDV6 engines in the Ford Territory have not had these crankshaft failures, so this is quite promising.
After it was fettled by the engineers to suit the F-150, e.g. bigger sump, different intake manifold design, forged crankshaft instead of cast, different materials for the big end bearing shells. Those are the big changes that I am aware of, which distinguish this motor from the ones supplied to Land Rover.
Press cars get beat on quite a bit and this one had some miles on it. I suspect it was the victim of a northern winter with little undercarriage washing.
That air filter gauge? That's the most worthless piece of crap/gauge ever put upon this vehicle! Also, The fuel filter location? Yeah that's only because ford wishes the buyers of this truck just took it to the ford dealership for ALL of it's work/maintence! I kinda wonder if ford made the drivetrain modifications for the U.S. market for the sole purpose of some limited durability/reliable of said engine? Why a fabric belt instead of a more durable metal drive chain? Sounds better? yeah...sure why not!
