@@friendlypup5650 Yeah, it was my favourite movie of 2019 for sure, but it's not something I'm expecting to get a lot of nominations. I would at least hope for cinematography, supporting actor (Dafoe), and production design. If the voters do any type of research into how the sets were built + how authentic to the period it was, I don't know how they can ignore it. I think it should be up for sound as well but I'm not expecting that at all.

I agree. It's warm family movie with jokes and sad scenes and I really can't see why people are hyping up Adam against Joaquin. Marriage story deserves best original screenplay and maybe best supporting actress but everything else there are better movies.

@Diego Pisfil WHAT? Marriage Story is miles better than Green Book. It deserves every award it is nominated for, on it's own right it's a masterpiece . Green Book was a safe, bland and manipulative movie that just deserved the acting categories.

@Diego Pisfil Marriage Story will be this year's The Favourite. Extremely acclaimed movie that will be nominated for heaps of Oscars but will probably only win one and get snubbed in the rest and also got robbed of a SAG Ensemble nomination.

Yeah but Vice got more love at Critics Choice and Golden Globes, so I don’t thinks so. It’s not getting on BP.

ninethreefivesix wow. I dont even know whats going on with you. Joker will be the most memorable of all the films above in ten years. Name some „good“ movies then, or tell me what exactly you didnt like about Joker.

@@slifer19964444 It was an ok film, only great thing about it was Phoenix. Even what it's trying to say is better done and executed in Parasite. It's just another blockbuster riding it's way to the Best Picture race because of how popular it is and award shows wanting ratings.

@@ninethreefivesix Obviously it's fine if you only think it's okay. To each their own, yada yada.... ;) But the cinematography and the score are actually fantastic.

@@ninethreefivesix Hmm that's a shame because the whole movie is centered around Phoenix and the technical aspects are also amazing soo.. yeah. And the movie can't have a one, or single (political) message since it is a JOKER origin story. They can't tie theirselves to one particular view on society. The core element of the Joker is chaos after all. Sure some people now say well, that's a lame excuse or it doesn't make much of a movie then. But after seeing there surely isn't anything lame about the movie. And it is exactly what it was supposed to and I doubt that anyone will ever play the joker better than Joaquin. A Blockbuster you say, yes. But a milestone for Blockbusters.

I really think there’s a shot it gets upset honestly. Once upon a time in Hollywood might do it. When was the last time the movie that everyone said was gonna win actually pulled it off. I feel like it was birdman
