I have always wanted a Ducati, I never liked the looked the V4 always thought the original Panigale looked more sexier, I finally got my dream bike a 2018 Ducati 959 Panigale 3 months ago and it life as been sureal best bike I have owned. Being that I have had Suzuki gixxer, Kawai 636 and daytona 675
I bought a 2019 959 about 6 months ago (my prev bike was a 06 GSXR1000). Here's my 2 cents. Pros - The bike handles great in the corners when riding at a good pace. Brakes with the stock pads work well. The motor is fine above 5k rpm, the higher you rev it, the better it pulls. I shift it a lot. The pegs appear to be lower than on my GSXR which is weird (back more but lower). Cons - I'm 5' 6" and the seat height is too high (tried all three seat types (1199 is the lowest)). Clutch engages near the end of the release (I know this can be adjusted under the handle). The clutch engages quickly as well. The prev owner may have slipped the clutch more than normal causing excessive wear (the clutch stack height is near the min). The stock shifter is wobbly where the bolt goes through the shifter (enough to notice when shifting). This may have been because of neglect (it has two o-rings and needs to be lubed). Upgrade/Parts are so expensive. A slip-on pipe is between $1400-$2600. The rear tire is an "off" size (why!!) 180/60-17. It cost me around $500 at my the Ducati dealer to get it serviced (basically, an oil change and to get the "oil change needed" light reset).
I have a 2016 panigale 959. Coming from a 2008 zx10r. I was sublimely impressed by its flickability, the ABS and traction control aren't very intrusive, although I did turn the engine brake control off because it's more like a jake brake... And riding around with the group of friends, there's not much that can pass me. The kind of sloppy fly by wire feel can be fixed with some panigale spacers online. And the heat issue can be fixed with removing the heat shield and putting some extra shielding in there. My mirrors did break fairly quickly but, aftermarket replacements are easy to find. I have 27,000 and some change on the odometer. I did timing chains at 15,000. And the bike has literally been flawless,... But yes it is not happy commuting. It is very very happy however leaning into a nice long sweeper at 120+ Just be warned. Put it in race mode and turn all the AIDS off.. and she pretty much says, here you go. Hope you know what you're doing!! Probably one of the most slept on Ducatis around !!!
Great comparison video of two awesome bike! I own a 2012 Monster 796 and 2020 Monster 797, and plan to enter the Ducati sport bike category. The Panigale 959 seems like an excellent choice, currently my two Monsters 796/796 don’t have any of the advanced electronics of a V2. The search is on for a pre-loved 2019 Panigale 959.

Iv just sold my 2016 r1 as iv just got caught speeding at over 130 mph that bike is crazy … iv got a Honda vtr 1000 so could just hop back on that but thinking I want one of these … it’s around 60 bhp more then the vtr so should still be a blast .. the r1 was 210 lol
I look at this closer to 1000cc than 600cc. 600cc 118-120bhp crank. 44-48lbs torque top speed 160-165mph est. This Ducati has 155bhp in Europe, double the torque of 600cc with 80lbs torque on par with the 1000cc and a top speed of 175mph give or take. 1000cc capped at 186mph.
