Follow along as I change the purge valve of this 2019 Ford Escape which had a P0456 and P0496 code. This is a common problem with these models. They stick open sometimes and start flowing when it's not suppose to.
Thanks for the video, same issue with my 2020, failed 500 miles before the warranty expired, dealer was booked up for 2 weeks and was only 160 miles over warranty when they diagnosed it and Ford refuses to do anything. At least they were nice enough to put the part # on the work order.
I have a 2020 Ford escape two and it’s gave me an engine light and the codes were the purge valve and every time I fill up my gas tank I have to press on the gas so my question is do you know where it is located in the vehicle is it under the hood or I heard someone say under the driver seat, I want my stepfather knows about cars but just this this is a newer car so I can’t really find any videos on it. Would you know anything?
@@nicholasvasquez3669were you able to figure it out? Had the same issue and had to give it gas after filling up. This is because the valve gets stuck open. Waiting for parts to come in 🙄
Well, Thank you. Im having the same issue with my 2019. Its really a great car, but the bullshit on these newer vehicles.... Ill stick with my 72 Monte Carlo again after the winter is over.
great video. can anyone tell me why ford insists on putting half the damn engine bay under the dash? just changing the battery on half their vehicles is a huge pita.
Thanks for posting this! I have this issue in a 2017 1.5 turbo Escape Do you know if the part comes as a whole unit like the video and if it is the sane part number? Does the solenoid needs to be replace as well?
It does come as a whole unit. However, some auto stores will only sell the valve or solenoid piece. You have to look specifically for the whole assemply. There are also two versions of it: with solenoid and with purge.
so with the 2019 you have to take the whole entire thing out to replace because the hoses are connected to the valve?? places have been trying to charge me 500-700 to get this replaced which literally looks like the easiest fix ever. parts are also cheaper to buy yourself
If someone can comment back, I have the same issue with the 2020 Ford escape. I have my engine lights on and when I put gas it struggles to start I just don’t know where it’s at located at I would like to know maybe I can even fix it I just can’t find it anywhere online.
@@brausosa2272 You can buy the valve separate, however it is heat shrunk onto the houses .....so it would only be a work around while the whole assembly is on back order. Assuming you have some mechanical experience, and needed it to get going in the mean time.
It was leaking too. Because my shop is so noisey with music in the background I really don't get a chance to film to many videos. wish I could do more.
