Worth watching the temperature gauge when you start to check car warmed up before having the turbo kick in. It also has a kick from the V-tech engine when revs are up.

Drove this a few days ago. I liked it. My only minor gripe is that I wish it had a driver oriented center stack like the HRV. I also found the skirts/bumper at the bottom would scrape the ground as I drove in and out of my inclined driveway, if I didn't drive slow enough. Other than that, I like this vehicle. Thanks so much for posting this video.

Love it. Have the 6MT 2017 and it's a great daily driver. With mainly highway driving I get 40 MPG. The one good thing about the low-end infotainment system is you can control it with gloved hands in winter. It's comfortable, drives well, accelerates well, reliable. Not a "cough" from it since I bought it-and I drive 30K miles a year in NE winters.

I thoroughly enjoyed your test drive impressions, especially the WOW!! I test drove that same exact trim level in the Civic Hatchback and I did the "WOW", also! It's a fun car to drive. I never knew what that meant, as cars I've driven in the past (11 between my husband's and mine) had a stable ride, decent handling, were comfortable, good in snow, etc., but not necessarily all that exciting. This Civic is definitely Not Boring to drive!! The only thing I disliked about the car is that the seats are so low. One article I read said a person would have to do the limbo to get out of the seat, and yeah, I had to hoist myself up and then out. I'm going to investigate if power seats (in another trim level) would lift me up higher than the manual lever that comes with this trim, although it'll be more dollars. We'll see. I'm currently driving a 2006 Subaru Outback (yes, I've gotten my money's worth out of this one)! But, soon enough, it'll be time to replace it and I think I may want to change it up a little (I'll miss that panoramic moonroof, though). During this past year, I've been test driving various makes and models, getting myself ready to make an intelligent decision as to what I'll be buying next. I've test driven the following 2019 vehicles: Subaru Forester, Subaru Crosstrek, Mazda3, Mazda6, Mazda CX-5, Toyota Corolla, Toyota RAV4, Toyota C-HR, Honda CR-V, and Honda Civic Hatchback Sport. A few of them I drove twice in order to get a better comparison settled into my mind. My favs are the Honda Civic Hatchback Sport and the Subaru Forester -- for different reasons. Before each dealership visit, I did plenty of research on the Internet and watched innumerable RU-vid reviews, but there is nothing better than going out and driving the car(s) themselves! I encourage you all to do so, as well! It's been a true learning experience to have driven all these vehicles, and fun!

Very good video. Thank you for posting the first video with an actual 2019 Civic Sport Hatchback to confirm things I wanted to know. The Sport Hatchback is an awesome car for those that can't afford the Sport Touring Hatchback. I prefer the Automatic, albeit a CVT, but it works well. The 6 speed is not the best, compared to the Si and Type R, like the the WRX shifter is not an STi shifter, but there are aftermarket kits to shorten the throw travel and feel. The 6 speed is only available in the Civic Sport Touring Hatchback in Canada for some reason. And you can't buy it if you don't live in Canada due to agreements with Honda. What everyone is wishing for is the Si Hatchback, which I don't see feasible be sure the hatchback is made in the UK, and it is only feasible if Honda wants to invest in the cost to bring all the Si manufacturing equipment and parts to their UK assembly plant. That being said, the hatchback has a little more headroom in the rear seats than the sedan and coupe, due to the higher roofline. If the tires are the Continental ones, the are the original tires from the Sport Hatchback, Sport Touring Hatchback, and Si from 2017. If they are the Goidyear Eagle Sport tires, those are the optional tires on the Si, which may be standard now, and the ones that come on the new 2019 Civic Sport Sedan and Coupe. The wheels are smoke grey on the Sport Hatchback, Sport Touring Hatchback, and the Sport Sedan/Coupe, and silver on the Si and the Touring Sedan/Coupe. For 2019, I see the Sport Hatchback has the upgraded TFT instrument panel like the EX trim with read gauge lighting of the Si, but not sure if the scrollable items include some if the Si performance features. The Civic Sport Hatchback also has the Honda Sense package available on all Civic trims for 2019. The honey comb front and rear fascia panels many people complain about are only in the hatchback models and the Si Sedan. The Si coupe has the front ones, but not the rear ones. It seems on the Sport Touring Hatchback, the rear panels have what looks like rear parking sensors, or a place to put them. Maybe the rear ones could be redone aftermarket, even to dispense 007 type smoke screen, oil slicks, or OC Pepper Spray... :P The Sport Hatchback seems to have added the projector low beam headlights like the new Sport Sedan and Hatchback. The Sport Touring Hatchback is probably unchanged from the two previous model years to my knowledge, with the exception of the updated radio with the physical buttons and volume knob in the left side in many of the 2019 Honda models, depending on trim level. I prefer the Sport Hatchback unless I am able to get the Sport Touring Hatchback when it comes time to get my next vehicle, but I may not opt for the Sport Hatchback. The turbo engine is fast, with either transmission, I believe the torque on the CVT is 162 - 164, and the 6 Speed is 177, but the CVT still.pulls hard. It would be nice for the Sport Hatchback to have the full LED headlights, though you could possibly get upgraded headlight upgrade replacment bulbs to make them brighter, and whiter. Also, the turn signal lights in the outside mirrors. But, I guess they save that for the Sport Touring Hatchback. Which brings me to the reasons what I don't about the 2019 Sport Hatchback. I like almost everything about it, especially the Honda Sense, Projector low beam headlights and upgraded instrument panel as mentioned above. I don't mind the lack of electric adjustment fir the seats or dual zone for the A/C. I know they equipt this car for performance, appearance and such for a lower price but has great upgrades for 2019. They didn't upgrade the locks to the keyless entry, push button start. I can live with that, but a disappointment. The thing I am ticked off about, unless they are adding it later in the middle year, along with the lock/ignition upgrades is the radio! Because of the reverse camera, and possibly other features, it makes it impossible to upgrade, unless they make the new radio available for purchase, and upgrade to get 7" touch screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. I still hate that Honda, GM and others eliminated the CD player, unlike Subaru. The 5" radio mentioned has 160 Watts and 4 speakers, no separate tweeters at the upper doors. The new updated radios I mentioned without the 12 soeakers like the Si and Touring models have 8 soeakers and 180 Watts. I can upgrade that with the Rockford Fosgate digital processor, amps, speakers, subwoofer, and auxiliary audio input also missing. The biggest gripe that has me perturbed and disenchanted is that the upgraded Goodyear tires, radio, keyless entry/push button start, especially the radio is all included in the 2019 Sport Sedan/Coupe for a much lower price than the Sport Hatchback without the mentioned items, albeit the 2.0L non turbo engine with 20 less horsepower and much less torque. I'm older, a long time techie, and auto enthusiast, but not into tuning, racing, etc., so I would only do limited upgrades, therefore, unless due to being early in the model year, those lacking update are coming later, I will probably get the Sport Sedan, which I didn't pay much attention to until I saw videos with the actual cars and like everything about them, other that preferring the hatchback for utility and looks, but I have cone to like the lower front fascia of the new Sport Sedan. The engine without the turbo has more reliability and longevity without having to warm up and cool down for the turbo. There maybe tuning available later to increase the HP to at least 20 more, like the Sport Hatchback turbo stock output. Anyway, that's my input and perspective.

I just bought a 2019 sports hatchback in Canada and it comes with basically all the touring features, such as push start, moon roof, satellite radio etc... The only major differences with the sport and the touring over here is that the touring comes with a better sound system but the deck is the same, as well as a higher HP but not by much!

A dealer in MA is asking $21700 plus fees (around $550 total) and taxes ($1400) for the 2019 EX hatchback. Is that a good deal?
@SK-lt1so

That's about right for the EX. I got the LX 6MT for about $22k final/everything.

Jose Rodriguez bruhhh what a stupid ass question sorry had to roast butt. It’s only on the Sport and Sport Touring OBVIOUSLY you can change it to a different color

I'm unsure as to why you don't have a push start on the CVT, I test drove the exact same car and it had the push start. Is it just a difference in the market where is Canadians get something the Americans don't? Like how Europe doesn't have a volume knob?
@TrenbologneSandwich
@TrenbologneSandwich 5 лет назад
On that note Canada also gets duel zone climate control and a moon roof on the Sport trim hatch
@TrenbologneSandwich
@TrenbologneSandwich 5 лет назад
One more add on after looking at my brochure, Canada also gets a rear armrest with cup holders and rear vents. And I'm not sure if the one you drove had them or not because I didn't hear you mention anything about it but we also have heated front seats. I feel like the American market is getting ripped off

I am SO glad Honda did that! Now the chrome window trim needs to be black as well! I had to custom black it out on my 2017 Si Sedan!
