I'm with your Uncle Reggie and you can tell him I said so. ;) I own a Kawasaki Vulcan!!! I have a 800 classic I paid $2400.00 for it put another $1500.00 in it, cobra drag pipes, floor boards, Blue collar Bobber kit, Coker classic whitewalls, Drag bars, wrapped the pipes. Painted it red and Black. I get thumbs up every time I ride it. Paid cash for all of it and I have a blast riding it. These Kawasaki's have bullet proof motors and transmissions. no need to spend a bunch of money to have fun.

The main difference from the SG and Indian is the Indian lacks tq passed 4000 something rpms. The Indian is superior in features, deeper sound, suspension, brakes, frame etc. Also the bags lock with remote and window goes up and down. You can get a taller windshield too if you want. And has sport, standard, and touring modes which controls the throttle. The Indian has a small peg for a brake pedal and the turn signal switch is on the left side of handlebar. The floor boards are alot longer, this is something that SG owners have to purchase as an upgrade. The Indian motor is getting high praises for its reliability. The DarkHorse is inbetween a SG and a GoldWing. Adam Sandoval does a great review of this. Go check his review out.

They look like very nice bikes, and was impressed with nav/radio screen. I would like to own a new Indian, but the nearest dealer is almost three hours from my home.

The 2019's do have LED Headlights. I have one and its LED from front to back. That's one the reasons I bought the 2019 instead of the 2018.

Hey ole Unk telling the truth..lol..them Kawi's are bullet proof..I had a 04 Marauder which is essentially a Mean streak..had the Kawasaki 1600 in it..never had a issue and it was a beast on the highway...doesn't matter what you ride as long as you ride!!...love the video. ..you guys are awesome!!

I rode a 1500 Drifter for 17 years and loved it... test rode a 2018 Heritage Softail and bought my first Harley.

Adding the heel shifter may help with the feel of the shifting. I wouldn’t want to ride a touring bike without a heel/toe shifter.

Test rode the Indian Scout and the 2018 Springfield, both lovely bikes in their own right but when I test rode my first Harley last month, a 2018 Sport Glide with that beautiful Milwaukee 8 engine, I can't couldn't help but notice a sense of premium build quality and refinement to the engine. Needless to say I put a deposit down and picking up my 2019 Sport Glide in a couple of weeks! Also, chose the Sport Glide because as a 25 year old here in Australia, the bike's looks, ride quality and usability with its removable bags and mini-fairing really struck a chord with me. Can't wait to join the Harley family. Love your videos dude!

Great Vid , I appreciate you putting it on here. I totaled a ‘15 chieftain and after recovering from accident (7 months) I bought a ‘12 road glide. Now I’m torn between the ‘19 chieftain or Road glide special. BTW chieftain LED headlight is stock and war bonnet is illuminated or it was on my ‘15 Need to make my mind up bc spring is almost here. It doesn’t matter what you ride just that you ride. Safe travels man.

Thanks for this review. I have a Vulcan Nomad like your uncle. I'm using it to get used to the new riding style coming from the sport bike world. I have been looking into that darkhorse and the more I hear about it the more I'm leaning to it.

First bike was a '70 ,750 Norton,a dozen rides and I traded for a Corvette,I was 17.Haven't been the driver since then .Rode on the back of some pretty fine extended forks,low rider types,but looking at the 2019 Dark Horse for myself. to buy in 2020.Take those pegs off,this girl don't need no passenger slowing me down.I'm either crazy or I'm the great granddaughter of Alphonso Merkel and it's in my blood ,boys.lolly

Uncle Reggie is alright with me. I may be biased, because I am a retired Air Force Master Sergeant, and a 2022 Kawasaki Vulcan 1700 Voyager rider.

You can't go wrong with Indian! Personally I don't care for the War Bonnet on the Open Cut Fender. I think it looks better on the Classic Valance Fender. So it didn't bother me about it not lighting up. Some people say it still looks cool though.

Hmmm I ride a 2015 cvo road glide ultra and thinking of transferring to the dark side, had my eye on these since they came out and by the video there just getting better and better, I’m over the Harley tax lol.

I haven't ever ridden a street glide or chieftain but I compared the Iron 883 with the Scout Bobber when I was looking at bikes, I'd take the Scout Bobber hands down. More power, more snappy, and I could ride it a little more comfortably beings I'm 6'3. Just my two cents. When you were mentioning the things on the bike that you didn't like, you can get an LED headlight and passenger pegs. If you go on their website, they have a virtual builder where you can build out the 100% ideal bike that you would want and check out pricing and all that. It's a really slick feature to their website so that I don't have to drive the 50+ miles out to the nearest Indian dealer to me. All those are just options that you can get but unfortunately I don't know about the Chieftain's head on the front fender but I agree that'd be slick to have it illuminated. Great video though! Really liked it. :)

When y’all heading to California. I’m heading across country from Charlotte this summer. It will be my 2nd cross country trip. The first one I road from Charleston SC to Ruby Beach on the Olympic Peninsula WA and back 7600 miles. It is time to do another one.

Uncle Reggie seems like a cool cat so we'll forgive him for the Vulcan! I test ride the Chieftain and Springfield and I have to say, the Springfield has a much much better ride. Take it out if you have a chance. I'm hoping to get mine in about a year.
