Not really. They're still expensive as a used car but only because they're so insanely expensive new. Proportionally, they drop hard like any other Merc. My 2015 F150 had better resale value than these do.
@@dchawk81 Wrong. Your F150 is a POS. It's right near the bottom for pick up truck depreciation whereas the G class is one of the least depreciating luxury SUV's on the market.
A unique boutique vehicle, it's not even manufactured by Mercedes, it's made in Austria by Steyer. But sales are rock solid and there's a 5-month waiting list. In a much more basic version, it sells very well as a pure military vehicle because it's built that tough and the offroad performance is MIL-SPEC.

I think because the review doesn't take place back at home where they're able to perform their typical battery of tests, as Alex typically puts it. Also consider most reviews are 30 min and this is half that, not to mention the being a niche vehicle, this is more of a novelty review, like the McLaren.
Can you provide insight why the brush guard is standard in the US, and why they differ between standard G and the AMG version? I really like the Euro models much better since theirs dont come with the guard as standard.
You would be considered very lucky if you could find one of these anywhere near their MSRP (I'm talking about the new 2019+ model, not the old ones). They easily sell for $50k over sticker! It's absolutely nuts!
If for some crazy reason I was able to get this, I would have to rip off that hideous brush bar before I'd consider getting caught behind the wheel. And for 2021 the new bronco may compete but other than that no its just the Rubicon
the G wagon is an very upscale jeep wranger Rubicon but the wranger is a better vehicle plus you can remove the top on the jeep. the only reason the last generation sold well was due to everyone being a copy cat and buying the most expensive suv they could find. that markets now owned by Lamborghini, Bentley and Rolls Royce, i see more bentys and lamborgini suv's on the road then new G wagons, old ones are more common but thats on the used market owned by people who are a little behind the trend. the performance suv/crossover buyers are into thngs like the x3 M40i and modding those and now waiting for the x3m to hit the dealers. i don't see sales of the new G wagon going anywhere and with ferrari entereing the market soon its only going to get worse for the others. i know the BMW is a different maket segment but its still takes a few customers away from the others because some people rather tune then buy high end vehicles regardless of price, thats my 2 cents
Again, the "Combined Legroom" posted here is highly inaccurate; the G63 certainly doesn't have 12" more legroom than the Lexus RX! And that's because car manufacturers measure their legroom differently! So Alex, if you are going to post combine legroom, measure them yourself!
