You video came at the right time. My cowl seal is sun rotted here in the desert and I was trying to figure out how to take off the cowl and replace just the seal against the windscreen. The dealer said the two edge pieces were part of the cowl and I didn't have the $400 for a new one. Plus they wanted 2 hours to remove and replace the cowl. I can't thank you enough.
I'll be doing this soon to eliminate the water sloshing into the A/C system because of plugged drains. And while it's apart, trying to figure out how to keep large debris out of there so it won't happen again. I don't want to get good at taking it apart, if you know what I mean. The other suggestions of camera angle, tools, and volume are good feedback. Thanks for taking the time!
Thanks for the video. I saw what I needed to. If I may make a suggestion. Many in your audience like myself don't do these things often. Some discussion of the tools used would be helpful.
I was going to suggest this as well about the types of tool's needed for the job. I know there is a tool to remove the push pin's. I just don't know the name (push pin removal tool?). I need to replace my cowl molding on my 2015 Ram. Also I bought a wiper arm puller and removed my wiper arm's to repaint them. The cowl molding is $200+ and the side molding's are like $80+ a piece. when I removed the wiper arm's, I used some tape to mark the wiper arm location on the windshield.
Great video. I have a 2015 Ram 1500. After heavy rain water drips out of grab handle bolt caps on drive side pillar post. I suspect its coming in the side of the windshield under the molding. Any suggestions on how to get the molding off so I can seal my windshield? Also any suggestions on what seal to use? TIA Steve
My Ram is in now for a wind noise issue. I got a call today saying that the cowl needs to be replaced. My truck is only a little over a year old. They say it might be warped from heat/weather. I have no trees in front of my house so I get direct sunlight beaming out front, where my truck is parked, especially in the Summer. Is this a common issue?
I bought a cover for my truck. I also have no shade at my house, although I can park it in my garage. I need to replace the cowl molding on my 2015 Ram. The sun rotted the section at the base where it meets the windshield.
Just what I was looking for! I'm looking for how water is getting into my A/C system. Was sitting outside after two days of heavy rain. I could hear water sloshing around as I drove, so I'm looking into the fresh air intake. Is it under this plastic cowl?
@@MaxxedoutRodz I got everything aprart today and there still about about two quarts of water inside. The pollen had left a water mark which was about two inches high, about the level of the air intake. There is a drain on each side , mine had pine and oak tree blossoms blocking them and crud.
