Dive into the sleek world of the Range Rover Velar as I share my personal journey with the 2019 model in this detailed Velar review. From the undeniable style that caught my eye, to the features I can't live without, and even those few pesky pet peeves - I'm laying it all out. Wondering about the Velar's performance, interior luxury, or if it's worth the investment? I've got you covered. 🚗✨
In today's video, you're getting the full scoop. As a designer, aesthetics mean the world to me, and the Velar doesn't disappoint. But it's not just about looks; it's the thoughtful design, like those pop-out door handles and the dual-console interior, that makes every drive a pleasure. And yes, I'll share those few elements I'd tweak if I could. Would I pick it again? You'll have to watch to find out.
Remember, whether you're in it for the aesthetics like I am, or curious about the Velar's performance and features, there's something in this review for you. And if you're on the fence about making it your next ride, I hope my insights help!

Very good review. I recently traded-in my `19 P380 R-Dynamic for a `21 RR Sport HST. Believe it or not, I went from a Porsche 991 GTS to the Velar. Emotionally, I missed the Porsche but the RR is a better vehicle for driving around the city (I live in L.A.). Anyway, the point I want to make is that in over 2 years of ownership I had ZERO problems with the Velar. My experience with it made me think all the noise about the unreliability of LR must be from people who never really experienced their vehicles. Thanks again!
@DavidCodamo
@DavidCodamo 3 года назад
Yes! I totally agree! It’s a great all around daily driver with style and reliability. Before switching brands to LR, I also heard a lot of “noise” about how they require a lot of maintenance and blah blah blah, but I figured since I’m leasing and not buying any issues would be covered with warranty. I’m happy to say that haven’t had one problem! How are you liking the bigger RR sport?

Very good review. I have owned one for the last 6 months now and just as you say, it's a pleasure each time I drive it. Some other important driver assist features that I have in mine are the lane keep assist and the lane departure assist. The other important feature is that the moonroof closes itself after the car is switched off and locked and opens back when you start it again. And my favorite is obviously the gesture tailgate open feature..

Nice video. Seriously considering the RR Velar, upgrading from a Honda Civic now that the kids are getting bigger! Was thinking about all black, but yes the finger print marks will be an issue. Sleek design but doesn't appear as large on the inside as you'd think from the outside it seems..
@DavidCodamo
@DavidCodamo 3 года назад
Yea, definitely different from driving a civic, but much more space than a civic. It’s the most spacious but enough space for kids and adults. Just depends what all you need it for. It’s a great daily driver and provides the option for when you need the extra space without it being too much to maneuver. Plus my girl feels comfortable driving it, because bigger suvs kind of intimidate her and make it much more difficult for her to park, so this is a good solution.

Rusting brake discs/ rotas are a real problem and Jaguar Land Rover will not replace them as a warranty issue. This is down to a quality problem and the current company policy to save money which does not translate well on a so called luxury brand. Those are all great choices, and they all drive different! on my opinion the BMW X4 is a more aggressive driver car than the other two. It’s great if you want more aggressive driving experience with the extra room. The SQ8 is very nice, I like their body style a lot but their interior to me was kind of plain and not too entertaining. The RR I believe has the best over look inside and out, but it is probably the slowest and least aggressive driving out of the 3. I think it depends on your driving style. The P250 is plenty fast enough with a turbo for its size, as well as it has a Dynamic drive mode that makes it have more torque and more aggressive drive mode. Great question, so personal I haven’t had any problems with my Velar. Mine is 2.5 years old with only 20k miles, and no maintenance issues at all. If you get the oil changes, put premium gas in, and change the fuel injectors at 15k miles then it should stay reliable. The thing is I got my brand new, so you never know what and how the previous owner took care of the vehicle, and I believe that’s why some people have problems with them because they buy it used and it was driven hard and not maintained. Great question! So I was in the same boat when I first bought my Range Rover. I heard all the stories of how unreliable they were, but I still wanted one because it was one of my goals to have one! I got mine brand new literally off the truck and haven’t had any issues! Granted I take really great care of the car and didn’t drive it crazy rough and broke it in slowly. My Velar, just crossed 23,000 miles, and was serviced with oil change, air filter, and brake fluid. That all cost about $540. Oil changes costs about $180 a year. And it’s recommended to do the fuel injectors at 15,000 miles and that is like $380 I believe. So all and all maintenance on this car has been like $1,460 over 3 years, which isn’t bad for a luxury vehicle. Actually I have to get double jaw surgery unfortunately. Been putting it off for a few years, but will be going through the process this year. I’ll be documenting it. Wish it was only braces, but with a good surgeon and a few months of recovery hopefully resolve it. Maybe if you were less focus on criticizing other people like me you’d have a Range Rover and multiple successfully businesses 👀 🤣
