In this video I'll be installing KINGCHER running boards for my 2020 Toyota RAV4 Trail/Adventure TRD. You don't need drilling or removing any panels. Just plug and play kinda setup.

Mine ended up being a different style full metal bracket. I had to cut the trim during install for the OEM steps.

Thanks for sharing. Just put mine on. They’re sturdy and practical for my toddler son. Somehow the RAV4 stickers didn’t come. But I’m ok with it.

I contacted Kingcher through the link that you posted and they confirmed that the boards only come with 4 brackets total which is different from the product that you got which has a total of 6. Good thing that it was an Amazon product and I was able to cancel right away. Will have to order the more expensive one which is not by much and is also a Kingcher product that includes 6 brackets!

wow you made it so simple compared to the toyota installation instruction that comes with it. If this how it installed then I am buying it right a way. But I have seen videos same oem part with complicated installation. I have 2023 Rav4 but not sure if the installation is the same

You're welcome and there's no need to remove or cut any panels just straight installation.

It should work with the OEM part as Toyota put these plugs/holes for a reason. The aftermarket ones not always have the same setup I did in this video, some of them require drilling or cutting holes in the plastic panel which is not a clean installation. Bear in mind the setup in this video is for the product that I purchased which is listed in the description.

Given the brackets are installed on top of the plastic molding, has there been any loosening or deforming of the plastic over time? Just wondering how this holds up after a year or two. Otherwise, this is a great way to go without cutting( or using the OEM rocker panels that come with cutouts). Thanks!

Hi, is it lessen the dust and wind noise coming from the door underneath? I have rav4 2021 and when i look underneath there's a gap between two doors. Maybe that's the reason too many dust in my door when i open it. And thinking if running boards can help my problem. Thanks in advance

Great videos. I'm buying a 2022 Toyota Rav4 Hybrid XSE. I want to put both mud flaps and running boards on. The flaps (4) will be OEM. However, I'm more than a little confused with all of the discussion about the mounting brackets. I would like one that fits with the flaps on, has 3 mounting brackets on each side, and has a rav4 logo. Could you suggest the exact product I should get? Really appreciate it! Thanks.

Hi there, I ordered running boards for mine (RAV4) and kinda are struggling now as I heard a lot about pants getting dirty and these boards being not useful at all... I have two kids 11 and 14, and actuall was thinking that it would be most useful for them. Perhaps also for my wife as she's 164cm tall, and for washing the roof as well. Do you guys know if it's really that bad with pants getting dirty? I'd need to check the real vehicle for personal use. Wonder if somone who is actually using it, gives more insight to this point? Thanks

Hey mate. It looks like you installed the brackets on top of the plastic moulding. The toyota instructions indicate that the areas under the bolts/brackets be trimmed away. Did you find that the brackets still installed firmly?

Unfortunately I can't give you a definite answer. But I've installed those 3 years ago and they're still looking good and feel sturdy.

They're sturdy.. It should handle lots of weight like 3-4 people

Can you send me a photo of it? I'm curious how does that look like. Because it should all be the same as long as your car have the necessary holes underneath the doors

@@RAV4Guides it's not the same the first 2 holes in the front are very small then the 3rd to the back wheel is the bigger holes to place the holding mount. The bracket doesn't even line-up with the front holes at all. I've messaged Amazon on this concern and waiting to hear back. It just arrived today

@@RAV4Guides They mostly selling with 2 brackets for 2023. The 3 brackets sellers says they won't for 2023 but I guess they will as they all same. Confused ordering from Aliexpress incase doesn't fit, I'll be stuck.

It depends, personally I installed it because it makes things easier when I pack things on top of the car. If you installed a lift kit and you're short then it could help with that too.

The amazon link provided shows a picture that seems to only have 2 supports on each running board! Your install shows 3 supports per side! Checking out other listing from amazon featuring the same brand but about 10 dollars more shows 3 support brackets on each side! Am I missing something? Thanks!
