Thanks! I think this is the first time I've seen NOT having a remote start causing an issue😂

People don't realize once a car is started most remotes are disabled. We are automotive locksmiths so we see this all time. Someone locks their door with the engine running. I know "but it's not suppose to do that" trust me if it weren't for people screwing up we wouldn't run 80-150 calls per week. So anyhow they grab a spare fob and it won't unlock the door because the car is running. There has yet to be a car made that someone hasn't figured out how to lock their keys in or be locked out of. Not to mention all the lost keys we make per week. Dealing with some of these people is not easy but like I stated if it weren't for them no business.

That tester is the best; it actually puts a load on the battery. I've had brand-new packs of cheap batteries that had 3.3V but would fail this tester. That's why I switched over to Panasonic batteries and haven't had a bad one since.

The remote start was not installed, just the jumper harness for it.

I try not to get involved with removing it, as it's usually a can of worms. I only remove it, if I feel I can't diagnose it properly with it in.

@advancedleveldiagnostics I completely understand that as a business. Especially on a lot like this looks to be. No way they're paying more than absolutely necessary. I just can't help but think back to the multiple cars I've owned that I've had to remove terrible aftermarket installs. Including unwanted tow bars on WAY too small vehicle and a couple of jdm imports that each had 3 and 4 different rat nests (turbo timers, stereo, alarms, light shows etc) adding kg's of bare, twist and tape wiring looms to each car. If I couldn't do the work myself and someone showed me this toyota. I would happily pay to have the sub harnesses removed and all the tie ins covered back up.
