One of my first sleds was the Yamaha 700 SRX what a rocket 120miles plus and nothin would touch it wicked fun to race on tight trails and the power valves on those sleds were one of a kind
hi by Depends on how you ride. No Yamaha is better than a Polaris Pro-RMK 850 offtrail, and so you will have a hard time finding anything better than a Yamaha RS Vector badboy on trail.
Miss my old 1980 srx. Won many poker rally’s. On the lakes I would say bye bye. No cat/Polaris stood a chance. In the tight areas, the small sled was excellent. The advantage for Polaris, AC, doo was in suspension. But I was fearless, and whiskey throttled everything. Nice sled.
I miss my '81 Cat, eltigre 6000 just like you miss your 80 srx. Those were such amazing sleds. I had '81 and '84 6000, my brothers also owned that same sleds and there was nothing at the time or the many years later that would compare. Cat owned the title for fastest for a long time. We rode with everything.... raced everything. Good old days. The SRX 440 was a great sled and very fun to ride! And fast as well!
Man the srx looks good. I've been on yamaha for years. My first sled was the blue srx triple and I loved the machine. Unfortunately the hefty price tag for the new srx just completely turns me off from buying it :(
Richard H ya I have a mint condition 99 srx700 and amazingly it can beat my friends 2016 skidoo 800. Funny thing is he said the skidoo Mxz 600 sdi 2007 that I bought before all this would give my srx700 a run for the money.. 🤔 ya not so much.😂 I like both sleds but for different reasons.
I had a 99 Srx and a 01. Best handling sled ever on flat groomed trails. Great to see them bring back the name! Totally shocked at the price of new sleds!
Love your videos! Only thing I will suggest is stop using the same picture for every video. I try to keep track of episode numbers but sometimes I don’t remember what number I’m on! Keep up the great work👍🏻 come out to Tug Hill NY for a travel segment
Great Video!! Very well done guys...… Finally a video comparison of the two most amazing sleds ever offered in the biz. Everyone who is a Snowmobiler needs to experience one of these beasts..... lots of minds would be changed...... I'll take a T-cat please.
I have a pile of BRP and Polaris 850 graphics stuck to the seat on my Thunder Cat! Anyone that is missing them is more than welcome to have them back, give me a call!
What are you talking about? They are the exact same...Other than one is blue and white with low windshield and one is black and green with a high windshield. Either way, they both have an Arctic Cat body.
With the cost of these things there really isnt a "everyone else" scenario. These new sleds have turned a "everybody has one" to a " your riding alone" situation. Cant afford $20,000 sleds anymore. My 06 apex will have to do.
I agree the price turns me off from getting a new machine. My 2011 nytro rtx will have to do for a long time. Luckily I love almost everything about that sled
Now this is endless power. And all u young guys this is sick looking. Endless power u want more just pust the throttle. Very very nice looking. And stick with the blue on white.
Wish they would bring back the old but newer version of the old 700 triple- triple. Show the other 2 stroke junkies yammie had one of the best 2 stroke ever made. Trust me I have one. I also have a bad ass 1049 turbo with a Hurricane turbo with power commander clutched so on I would not run from this sled with there little 1 in lugs. Think I cant boost at 70 80 mph until it scares you I can. I can jump from 50 mph to 90 in a blind I can. Like to see yammie make a fast little trail rock.
According to the 2020 NY shootout, the TCat wins in all performance categories in stock for stock and dealer prep. TCat had fastest overall speed, fastest 1000 ft speed & best time, best launch. This could have a lot to do with clutching.
Too bad these big 4 strokes are boring to ride. I’ll have to maybe try this one but if it’s anything like an apex I can’t do it. Other than the apex being about as fast as an 800 twin it was no fun to ride, didn’t sound good. Just had no soul. If this just feels like an apex on steroids gonna get boring pretty fast. The power should be nice but a sled needs more than just power to be fun imo
i've never felt brake fade on a sled...going into a corner you tap the brakes like abs. point and shoot for next corner. bang bang tap tap the brakes scrubbing off speed just enough to keep a corner like a indy car. I've never had them fade driving like that in 30 years. Or replaced pads in over 20 thousands miles on one sled.
I have a 2009 nytro XTX. I have the star suspension in the rear all my shocks revalved, high gear triple rate Springs in the front beefy spring out back. Slim jim Dooly carbides on the front, Mountain Tech a arms. This sled rails, I have video of it sucking up 850 skidoos on the trail. If anybody is up in Maine and want to try me let me know. . Ps I also have the Schmitt Brothers two stage clutch kit. The OTF steering relocate. And I have a mbrp trail can . 😂😭😂😭😜😜
I love practically everything that Yamaha makes except for this piece of Arctic Scrap. Have any Ski-Doo riders tried these? They are horrendous. These guys are so careful not to say anything bad about the brands that sponsor them. They basically just tell you that all of the sleds are good in their own way and don't provide any real critique across brands.
@W TF? They are not #1 in the business. They are not even #2. They hold about 15% of the market share. There's no point in having a bias towards a certain brand. If some day Arctic Cat makes a better sled than Ski-Doo or Polaris I might just go out and buy one. No Bias here.
@W TF? sorry my 2 brothers have artic cat turbo and weith around 190 pounds. 850 etec rev is very fast. I can hit 185 km hr and 0-100 maybe in 2 sec. Artic cat turbo must weight almost a 600 pounds and mine 450 pounds
So they took s shitty suspension and made it worse yet!! 10/4 It’s no secret that poo and doo have better suspension And the original 1100 turbo is still the king of the hill
The 1100 was great, but I’ve got to be honest, the 1100 doesn’t even hold a candle in performance & speed. The durability and reliability of the new TCat is better also. It’s just the truth. That doesn’t make the 1100 bad.
