The bigger tires will throw off transmission shift points. I haven't really noticed much with my lifted truck but I should probably do the same thing. If your sensors aren't giving the computer the right information it won't work right.

Every GM I've had after 98 have the check engine light on for the evap..

First, Thank You. I just watched all the way through. I have a 1996 GMC K2500 Suburban 7.4Liter gas completely stock except for just slightly bigger tires. I mean just a little bit. I would want to only change 3 things: 1,) My speedo for as long as I can remember (I have put a total of 218,000 miles since new) has always indicated too high with lots of different tires over the years, 2.) While my shifts are great, firming them up would be something I would like to do, 3.) My truck is pulling hard at 99 MPH, then falls on its face at 100 MPH when the speed limiter kicks in (first time I thought I blew the motor). I would like to: 1.) Fix speedo accuracy, 2.) Stiffen shifts, 3.) Remove speed limiter. Will this tool do that without changing my engine settings? What model Jet Programmer is it? (Could I rent yours or does it lockout another truck?) How many miles are on your truck as I was watching your oil pressure as mine when warm "only" goes to about 45-50 tops at max rpm and idles around 14. Never dry starts never an issue, was just watching yours to see how it compared to mine.

I can't find anything like this device for a 7.4L Gen VI engine on Summit's website..... I changed my engine's injectors to Bosch injectors and it runs like crap with LTFT's going sky high the instant it goes into Closed Loop running mode now, am looking for a solution other than putting the original factory injectors back in it again (was actually only needing to replace failed fuel pressure regulator but had figured while I was this deep into the top of the engine might as well replace the intake gaskets AND fuel injectors too.... starting to have real regrets here!).

I'm thinking this gizmo is discontinued.... NAPA doesn't actually say whether they have any in stock for shipment or not. Other websites I'm checking are all saying it's out of stock or otherwise has been discontinued.... this is very frustrating.

Unrelated. Beautiful Suburban. Is that custom paint? I have a completely stock 1996 GMC K2500 Suburban, 7.4Liter, Gas, 8600 GVW. I have stock running boards. I really like yours. What brand/type are they and how do they mount? Thanks!

Did you see any increase in mpg? I have a 97k1500 on 35s and I’ve seen a horrible drop in mileage since I’ve put them on. And are you able to program multiple veichles with one device? Thanks.

We have both a 2000 GMC Jimmy Diamond Edition and a 2001 Chevy Blazer LT both basically the same truck. Luckily they both came with Hypertec power programmers. On the 2001 Chevy Blazer I could do the shift point speed change in 1 MPH increments but not on the 2000 GMC JDE and yes the programmers are two different model numbers. I could do more on the 01 Blazer with the Hypertec Power programmer than on the 00 JDE. We plan on selling the 2001 Blazer probably without the programming or programmer. Just remember if your vehicle is Tuned with a Hypertec Power Programmer that you RETURN the vehicle to stock tuning as that will UNLOCK the tuner so you can sell it or use in whatever vehicles the programmer covers If you forget to UNINSTALL the Tuning of your Hypertec Power Programmer before you sell your vehicle the programmer is VIN Locked or Useless if you decide to use it on another vehicle covered by your Hypertec Power Programmer make sure you return the vehicle to Factory or Stock Tunning as Hypertec chargers about the price of a new unit to get yours VIN Unlocked. Unfortunately there are sellers who don't realize that and end up having the tuner returned as it was VIN Locked. Now I don't know if this is a problem for all Power Tuners but I had a local audio place install a VIPER Smart Start Remote start and alarm system a few years back but unless I go to the audio place that installed the Viper Smart Start system I CAN NOT CHANGE OR UNINSTALL or INSTALL THE TUNNING WITHOUT having the Audio disable/turn-off the Viper system. It's a major pain in the back as I change tires for the season as i have two different size tires sets for Winter and summer use.. Im planning on a Tuner for my 2003 Z71 Tahoe and another Viper Smart start system but I'm hoping Hypertec knows of a fix for this issue. One More: if your one to get your vehicle serviced by the dealer MAKE SURE YOU UNINSTALL OR RETURN THE PROGRAMMING BACK TO STOCK because if there's any ECM or TCM or BCM UPDATE it will Uninstall / ERASE your programming or Tune making your Tuner Useless or Bricked. Crazy I’ve got a 99 burban and it has the weird gear thing goin on between 40 and 65 did you ever figure out what was causing the issue

Completely didn't not come here for what I learned but I can say i feel more confident in my transmission being fine because I put bigger tires on then it had a weird slip but not all the time so I may just use this to fix that problem thank you

Gonna have to check that. My 98 tahoes speedometer is way way off, it reads about 40% higher than it should.

Nice! Was reading some of the gmt400 forums and seen people talking about black bear tuning. Any experience with them? If so, how does it compare with this Jet tuning?

Did you every try the performance programming of the JET programmer

For some reason my 98 k3500 shift hard and hardly ever goes into overdrive..I was thinking may need the screen changed or could be shifting off.. truck has a 6inch lift with 18inch rims wrapped in 33's.. could this be the issue?

I have a 1998 gmc sierra 2500 with a 454 2 wheel drive, does this jet actually help with power? I don't want alot but I would like another 40 or 50
