The superb bonus of F850GS in traffic filtering is that the handlebar is higher then on F900XR and S1000XR and the mirrors of sedans and small-medium SUV's is not a problem, you just fly over them all. Only big SUV's and other high-mirrored cars are the issue, there are not so much of them in traffic. I'm the newcoming F850GS owner and for me it is super easy to filter even in hard traffic and narrow lanes.
I love this bike, it has almost everything and it is an every day use bike. I also love your vídeos!!!! Can you pelase do a vídeo showing and explaining your city?
Although I always try to avoid the cities sometimes you must drive through. You are the first one who mentioned the heating of the engine while driving slowly in the city. When I made a test drive on a (very nice) Multistrada it cooks my legs in the similar situation. And that was a NoGo for me. But this bike probably could be a good follow up for my TDM900 ohne day. Thanks for your review! 👍🏻
Thank you for showing me what the bike is like to filter through the traffic. And what it's like to go from one side of the cars to the other side . I have to do that a lot here in Sydney. Stay safe!
@@suertedeti6404 tracer 9 is too high. bmw can go down to 77 cm. which in alot of people cases like mine, means a lot of confidence touching the ground properly.
What really bothers me is that these guys are so in love with BMW that they don't tell you the those brembos are the exact same ones on moto guzzi v85tt, but they bashed moto guzzi ones for not being so good, but on this bmw they somehow miraculously perform excellent!
Great review. Still need to ride one. Your mic was picking up the motor louder than it is at a couple points. They tuned it for a visceral feel. I’d love to see this with BMW panniers and/or just top case, that’s how I tour and often commute to work and meetings. Just top case is easier to filter and Lane split ha.
Bought one. I am picking it up Christmas week. Have a little Royal Enfield 350 Meteor for around town. I have owned everything from a f650 to the 1200GS. THANKS
@@applecorp picked it up today. Got the tow and additional tire coverage plus normal 3 years or 36K. This more than likely maybe my last bike? 70 at end of term. Who knows..
Congratulations for new bike bmw 900 XR. My question is what is optional items do we need to add on. It’s a must ? As a beginner it’s suitable ? Please advise.
Hello! I really love your reviews! Currently riding a R1200gs, looking to downsize. Will you be doing a comparison between the tiger 900gt and the f900xr in the future?
This engine is the same of the F850 GS but with 10HP more, 105HP, but with always 92Nm of torque as F850 GS. Can you tell me if you felt some difference in torque? It push more than F850 GS?
When I first got on my bmw the sales team tried to walk me through the features of the switch gear and the TFT display, I was like don’t bother I just need to concentrate on riding and I won’t remember anyway. But sorta like a car in time you get accustomed to just how well engineered and useful these features are. For instance I can answer my phone or use the BMW Connected app for navigation and never have to take my hand off my grip or turn my head to look at my phone on a mount because it’s in my pocket. These features are so good it’s hard to imagine them _not_ on my next bike especially for longer rides or commutes. We live in a world full of distractions and tech and we get used to having this tech but these bikes bring it all together safely and elegantly in a way I could not have imagined.
Thank you very much for the revieuw. Great explaination and info. But for me, this is the final straw (to say it like that haha) to go for the tiger sport 1050 and not this one.
John Andrews yes, you can listen to the guidance in your headseat. If listening to the music, the volume is automatically getting down. You can also disable it
Thanks. Well, I'm using the GoPro Hero 8 with Media Mod, and as you can see, it sounds pretty good. I connected a standard wired microphone to the media mod to record the voice.
Great video! How do you think, which better for everyday city riding and also for some trips (without really dirt roads) - F900XR or F750GS? Both of them have pretty same price in equal complication.
Very nice test. I think myself this bike is a very all rounder, from the town to weekend ride to a long trip. And, very important to me, because bike is an object of passion non just useful, I found it very "sexy", I just don't like the big side bags but I do not find it such a problem. By the way commuting is very important to me, I live in a town half of the year, and the bike seems quite easy in the traffic.. I just found the engine sound quite noisy. But I imagine it depends on the microphone. Or not? Thanks.
hey there! i will answer your question ,because he wont answer. he died in an accident a few months ago RIP. in my opinion the xr as an owner it is a bit noisy but not to much. it doesnt sound like the tracer 9 or kawa z, but is just fine. in terms of power is excelent, very well balanced and feels very comfy and safe on twisty roads. for me is a 9/10 motorcycle. the only better thing i would improve would be the engine, which is very good but not as good as the other 2 i named before. ride safe nemo
very kind of of you for the answer, after many different test drive anthinkin of yhe necessities of the roads where i go mostly, I choose this one for future bike and I think I won't be disappointed. So sorry for a biker dead on the road, I myself I've had a bad accident and safe for miracle. Rest in peace, motorcicle man.
@@nemozack3767 ok then! Obviously the xr 900 IS an amazing motorcycle. That IS why i bought one over the two i named before. Overall even if the tracer has better engine the BMW IS way more balanced. I LOVE this bike. Amazing take care
How is this bike for touring? I'm deciding between thr f900xr and thr s1000xr. Not sure if the s1000xr is worth the extra 10k in cost. Power between the two is irrelavent to me. I'm more focused on comfort between the two.
Please, I need specific mention on the low-end revs' pull and the softness of the gearbox to the throttle open-close responses (if it kicks when you suddenly close the throttle). Thank you.
@@DriveMagRiders i heard people are not recommending a low suspension kit as it will change the geometry of the bike. If you have info on that, that will be great info for everyone. Thanks for the reply :)
In each review of these new 900’s I’m struck by how the motor sounds like a a bag of bolts. So much rattle, clatter and top end noise for a Beemer. 270 twins should and do usually sound great but the racket these thing make is not so good.
LOL. Tell it in a face to a fan of Harley-Davidson. :-) I think opposite, in lower RPMs it has bass character while in higher is closer to similar machines on the market. Generally, I love it.
Have you ridden it? Have you spent as much time on Yamaha as on BMW? I suppose not. So, how can you compare 2 bikes if you haven't ridden/owned both of them for the same period of time?
@@adinovak2352 you know nothing John Snow.......im not stupid to spend money for too expensive chinease engine. 850 and 900 engine is piece of crap. A little objectivity and impartiality please.
