2020 BMW M340i xDrive Review: A True M Performer

Excellent vehicle. I leased it for 36 months and it’s so much fun, excellent performance. I can’t even bash the car much. 4.1 seconds wit X-Drive 🙂. As for A/C, navigate to that menu and create a shortcut. To do this, once you’re on your desired screen, hold down one of the numbered radio buttons and bam! There goes your A/C button.

This car has me seriously interested. M cars are not only pricy (would rather get a used Porsche for that money) but look overly hip. But this M340i is nearly as powerful as an M2 or a C43 AMG, is reasonably priced new, and has looks fit for a grownup.

Appreciate your review - I have a 2021 BMW M340i xdrive like this and agree with you. It has just the right amount of performance focus for use as a daily driver comfortably and conveniently. Is there any car that would be a step up from this to consider when my lease ends?

I just replaced my 2016 340i with a 2020 m340i, same powertrain on the surface but this car has many improvements you dont notice until driving for some time

I still think that the e46 msport is the best looking 3 series. Why did bm drop the normally asperated 6 cylinder engines? Turbo fours are not good enough. I Like the new 3 series but no manual gearbox option would put me off a purchase.

The G20 exterior has grown on me, but I still dislike that grill design. Hopefully there are some good aftermarket options available

It was between this and the 2019 Mercedes C43 AMG Went with the C43 due to more power AWD Better interior In my opinion Infotainment system easier to use. Now my C43 is tuned by Renn Tech amongst other mods too. I just believe my money went further with Mercedes and having a 0 to 60 at 3.7 seconds is 2nd to None. Last dyno came in at 405.7 awhp and 470.4 llb ft @18 psi holding twin turbo V6 4Matic Both cars are amazing so really cant go wrong either way it all comes down to personal choice and options in each that are available. Digital display and black out night package are huge for me upgraded around system all safety options packages Tech package etc.. For me C43 hit all those Mark's

if they were to do something better with the rear end of this 3 series...

M240i does have the same base-engine, B58 with a different tune...

If I am buying a BMW or any other Premium Vehicle I better not find hard plastic anywhere. I am so annoyed that any vehicle has hard plastic on lower door cards when for decades below the armrest you would find Carpeting and on nicer vehicles a reflector light that would light up. Here we are in 2019 and HARD PLASTIC on LUXURY Cars that cost well over $50K Sry, unexceptable

I don’t understand why one needs more power than this vehicle. Great car. I really dislike that grill though, I feel stronger than you against that grill. The gauges look worse than before and they just need to outsource dong their infotainment to some other company. Charging for Apple car play is a joke. Now let’s get the manual back in it.

M240i has the same B58 engine.

I'm not good in English. I don't understand about 5.13 -5.24. What's happened? The story went on. Suddenly he'd got crap pain(or something like that) and then he laughed. The car and view are beautiful. I like the grill and wheels but I don't like the color.

WTF??? A true M performer??? Automatic transmission only and Prius steering ??? Clickbait much? - The Ultimate *Riding* Machine. Coming from an E90 M Sport owner, it’s actually quite depressing to sample any new BMW loaner. It’s astonishing how boring and lazy they’ve become.

The M340i is lifeless and has no soul. Feels like basically the same thing as my last 340i. Last month I test drove M340i, M2C, and F80 M3. Only the M cars made me grin. Now I own a F80 M3 w/ DCT and full leather interior. I haven't been in love with a car in years, now I make excuses to drive to places. Can't wait for the G80 M3. For those of you considering a M340i, do yourself a favor and test drive a M3/M4 or M2C. It's worlds apart.
