Incredibly over 15 Million BMW 3 Series have been built and sold since the car first appeared in the mid 1970's. This new M340i utilises BMW's straight six-cylinder, 24 valve turbo petrol engine with an 8 speed sequential gearbox and launch control fitted as standard, making it very fast.
The M340i’s chassis and suspension are without a shadow of a doubt, fantastic, making this car the perfect fit in the super saloon bracket.The new 3 Series has already established itself as the best handling compact executive car on sale and the M340i continues the trend as the best performing, most exciting version yet. There’s a decent bit of traction in the bends thanks to the limited-slip differential, and while there is a rear-axle bias to the xDrive setup, the M340i feels very planted on the road.The final package is wrapped neatly in a 3 Series body with an elegant sporty edge, while the interior is a copy from the M Sport trim car. The extra cash you’ll spend on the M340i goes mostly towards the engine and those important chassis tweaks. It's hard to imagine wanting the M3 after driving this car as the M340i really is that good!
