You just got a new subscriber, I am a refugee from D. Demuro. Never realized how annoying he is and how features his facial expressions just as much as he features the car. Never shows the car as he drives down the street but shows the surprise in the face as he floors it. Telling us, this is just for my enjoyment...not his subscribers. And you test the sound system, which he never does.
Ive never been a big Corvette fan, and certainly not a Chevy fan... but I've been watching the release of this vehicle since early this year and I will say, NOW I want a Corvette. If I had the money, this would be the first on the list. No joke, it's the real deal.
@@daftcow706 "a drift starts before the apex, while a powerslide starts after the apex. With a powerslide, you keep things tidy up until you hit the apex. Once there, you put the power down-which, in a rear-drive car with good power, can make the back end step out to varying degrees. In a drift, the slide starts much earlier. Your goal is to induce oversteer going into the corner, not on your way out-sometimes using a clutch kick or a tug on the handbrake to get the car sideways ahead of the apex. Any time you're oversteering before the apex, it's a drift." Doesn't have to be just the handbrake
This car is definitely growing on me more I watch videos on it. Aside from the lack of a manual this thing is a true engineering machine and it will only push other manufacturers to produce the best performance for your money. No excuses now!!
I’m a big fan of manuals as well, but having been in a C8, the transmission matches it really well. It truly feels like a modern super car with that gearbox.
Tenneco did a wonderful job on the exhaust. Valving that make it nice and quiet during partial throttle but really barks when you get into it. Hats off to them.
Agreed; But... I think I'd get about maybe 4-6 months into it and be ordering an aftermarket exhaust that's correctly welded/high in craftsmanship as a replacement for more fun/excitement.
I love everything about this C8 & especially the center control pod! It gives the C8 it's uniqueness and identity that no one else has & with this being a copycat world it is welcoming! Can't wait until some very indulgent & benevolent person presents me with one of these because of my indubitable charm & sarcasm!!
This is an excellent starting point because the gran sport/ Z06 models is where the racing enthusiasts flock too. This model is more of a chill ride have some fun in a relax way. Even the exhaust note is too quiet but easily the best base model corvette in history. Im glad Chevrolet basically took a pdk transmission and outfitted for a c8 which was a great move as its very similar in shifting response
It looks pretty good when you are standing over it and looking at it from the front quarter or the side, but then you walk around to the rear and wonder why they didn't finish designing it. I'm a bit unhappy to hear that this car does not have that raw feeling; this is a sports car, it should not drive like a GT. That aside, the work that went into this car is the work GM needs to put into ALL of their cars.
The choices on this build were well made! The set up on this c8 has changed my mind about the spoiler on this car. No spoiler just makes it seem more classy and beautiful.
I love driving a good six-speed, but I'd also save to buy a car like this if it means 100% accurate downshifts on track. It's clear this was meant to be a track machine
I wish people would stop talking about what a great car this is for the money. This would be a great car at $120,000. My C8 LT3 is so much better than the $140,000 (probably $160,000+ today) 2016 AMG GTS if had. Faster, quieter, smoother, and the interior fit/finish and level of luxury is much more. The GTS was crude in comparison.
yeah Z51 is a must + aggressive alignment; Pretty sad if my nearly stock suspension / slightly stock alignment in my 370z has less under-steer. BEAUTIFUL car though! Saw a white one at the store yesterday, def. grabbed my attention! BTW, the POV videos are nice, but the audio is even better as I have dual subs going, so it's nice to hear the nuances and gives the viewer a better idea of what to expect. Thank you!
As a committed Ford guy who spent two years building a concourse 1965 Mustang Fastback and NOT a GM fan I am going to own one of these. Bravo Chevrolet! Ford could have done a GT affordable for the real world and they blew it.
This is an example of what good can be the product when it experiment with new origins such as the engine central position. Probably most corvette fans deslike that design engineers had been relocate the powertrain with the purpose to enhance the polar inertia moment.
@@studio-flash thats because bmw was too busy making a quality vehicle. they should have been like chevy and thrown the cheapest plastic they could find at it!
I’m curious how you know how good your shots look? Like, the framing is always solid on the walk arounds, everything’s there, you see the good stuff, it’s just so clean. And you’re doing it with a camera on your forehead. Like...what?
I don’t know how he does it, but the camera is always lower than any other pov channel’s setup, and it feels way more realistic than any other POV review.
How do you request the dealership to give you one for review? I'd really like to review one and I have a RU-vid channel that I can review on but I do not know what I would say to the dealership.
be experienced, have money. if you are asking on here you arent going to get a press car. go review your friends cars and try to make a name for yourself. then try and get an 80 thousand dollar sports car loaned to you.
IMO the one to own is likely going to be the Z06... It will have a DOHC screamer and they will fix the under steer issue along with it being more engaging for the driver.
The corvette looks beautiful and great for its budget for a super car but i believe the gps map built into the tablet of the car could be a bit more accurate with its refresh rate incase of missing a turn in a place your not to sure of where you are at. Perhaps is just a fast car for the reason of the gps not being able to keep up 🤔
That uneven gap where the dash meets the door just under the left A pillar is driving me nuts. I've seen other quality issues raised in that department and I'd love to see Chevy get that under control.
Wow, it is amazing how better this thing looks without those silly wings. Way more elegant. Really brings up the rear end lines. Chevy should have really integrated the aero elements better. Maybe a moving spoiler?
Doug Montgomery hahah i think I went to school with a dude with the last name Montgomery, small world if you’re his dad but yea it’s perfect roads out there
This car has potential. But the screen needs less bezels and or needs to be bigger and the steering wheel needs to be a bit smaller. While the driving screen needs to be more sporty like audis, bmws and etc.
Fantastic car. Interior makes porsche look boring and dated. I prefer interior to mclarens. The centre stack is cool..if it were in a lambo..you haters would say how stylish and origi6it is. Talking about original the C8 has the best door handle/ air intake on any car. A design masterpiece. Front end is better than mclaren, any porsche etc. Seats are excellent, dash is cool. Back is fine but they could change it in future to keep people happy. Technology is amazing and price is untouchable by any other car marque. In a base model that can do 2.8 seconds for 0 to 60mph...wow!!!! Can't wait for Z06 or ZR1.
Vanguard yes but I’d prefer not to finance. Don’t wanna sound cheap, but why pay loads extra unless you get 0% financing if you can just wait for the price to go down
Idk if it’s the camera angle but that driver seat looks way to close to dash compared to passenger seat 😭 be careful with them knees, in a bad accident your knees will be destroyed just saying...
Look at the Lexus IS F they made a couple years back. It’s a sedan with a really great sounding engine, and they’re actually quite cheap to buy, even though they’re pretty rare.
rcf interior will outlast the corvettes, the engines themselves are probably about on par in regards to reliability. tq converter gearbox on the rcf is likely to be more reliable and definitely cheaper to maintain than the dual clutch on the c8 down the line. c8 is far faster in nearly every aspect. rcf is better built, engine is a lot more modern and sounds quite a bit better imo. it really comes down to what you would rather live with, a chevy or a toyota? at the price ithe lc500 is a good option too, and will be worth quite a bit more than the vette down the line.
They don’t even really need a flat plane V8... I’ll be good with some good 180 degree headers and a little higher rev limit. I do wish they’d engineer the LT1 to do more like 9500RPM or more.... If they could make that thing rev much higher it would seem much more exotic.... though I suppose that’s what the flat crank V8 would do
