Today I drive and review a Camaro ZL1 1LE! Ford In Provo: www.larryhmillerfordprovo.com/ My Car Build/Mod Channel: / @tronautolab Second Channel: / @thebenhardyshow Instagram: ben_hardypl Facebook: @benhardycar
I sold my 2018 charger hellcat to get me a 2018 zl1 1le. I don’t regret it at all. Yes it is harsh ride but car enthusiasts like myself I don’t care. I love it More than the hellcat. Especially since it’s the manual is so much fun then auto to me.
What a great choice you made! I had a 2015 2ss, 1le , rs, recaro pkg. After having all types of great handling sports cars, previous car was a 370z nismo. I'm 48 yrs old, have always been a hard core sport bike rider in the business for 30 years! And sports car enthusiasts. I'd say I drive a couple levels above spirited. And I miss my Camaro more than anything that car was the shit! People have no idea how well they handle in the 1le form, especially for a 3800 lb. Car it's amazing! I can't imagine a new gen zl1 1le in a manual (the only way to go) I'd rather have your car than a $300,000 supercar in an auto transmission based off the fun factor alone! The young generation just doesn't get it! I have friends with ZO6's and hell cat's and m4's with auto transmissions and I just don't get it, I've driven all of them and I feel like I'm driving a fast minivan, they have no fun factor and do nothing for my soul! To me it takes a lot more to excite my soul! Great choice of car you made and more importantly choice of transmission! If money ever comes around again I'll be shopping for a zl1 1le! Enjoy! Fun over a few tenths of a second anyday!!!!! LOL
toppdogg2k17 you may discover as you get older that telling people what transmission they are “supposed” to have is realistically only your opinion. At least “manual or nothing” people used to be able to say they were faster than automatics. Now automatics are faster, but they will tell you it’s not a “real” car unless it’s manual. I deliver CDL trucks for a living, manual transmissions are over rated.
@@RadialNoah im cdl driver also, manual driving in a truck is work but some rather have manual also, a auto in a sports car puts me to sleep, because my zl1 is strictly for the enjoyment of driving, its more dramatic with a manual it's more exciting, with a auto you can pretty much drive with one hand most of the time, and i find that very boring, it doesn't matter how fast you are, there will always be someone faster than you, i could careless if someone else is faster than me.
toppdogg2k17 yes, someone will always be faster. But that used to be the MAIN reasoning behind “manual or nothing” people’s arguments. That the manual version of the same car was always faster. That is NOT the case anymore. So now it’s individual preference. But the “manual or nothing” people still talk shit. Only now it’s “manual takes more skill, automatic is too easy” like the example you made. I say live, and let live. Why be a dick?
Definition of a car a road vehicle, typically with four wheels, powered by an internal combustion engine and able to carry a small number of people. Sounds lame 😂😂
I just bought one with a manual. It is literally terrifying when you really get on it. I wish I had gotten one with an automatic but the manual will have to do. The manual definitely takes some getting use to. Hoping I get a lot smoother at it.
@@blackcat6.2. I grew up driving manual. While the manual is certainly more engaging to drive, I have found over time I prefer to have the automatic. You will love the car!
@@steve8803 I just got my 2023 ZL1 manual transmission on Feb 2, 2023. I am so glad that Chevrolet still offers the ZL1 with a manual transmission. Yes, the automatic is a few tenths of a second faster. I would be bored driving an automatic. We are lucky we have a choice unlike Corvette buyers.
i think with the 10- speed it would be faster tho. don’t get me wrong i love the manual tranny from tremec and hopefully in the future i will purchase a 2020 Camaro LT1.
Definitely get the basic package regarding carbon fiber. You can buy kits that will trim the whole interior for less and make the car look way upgraded
I’m a mopar guy and once I finish paying off my scatpack, I’m get this bad boy🔥🔥 yes the hellcat is faster but I’m tired of always seeing the same thing, I refuse to buy the same car interior twice 😂
nice choice man! and yes i know the hellcats are faster but im telling you, your going to love the Zl1-1LE!!! this car performs like it has the horse power of a hellcat around a track! The looks of this car just separates it from the rest! its soo dam sinister and bad ass looking! something bat man would roll up in. good on you man! hope you get one!
The cmaro i believe is the better all round chassis. The gt500 and hellcat absolutely cannot handle with it. However, the zl1 is down on power compared to the gt500 and hellcat. Dyno tune and pulley later, its a contender in the straight line throttle jockey club. Still though, best chassis by far, a lot of r&d has went into this car with all the testing done at the nurburgring.
@@diior3224 about $85k total. I built it online chose everything I wanted... Recaro seats down to suede with red stitching. He is a beast and I love him 😍
Oh, and nobody has beat me yet.... Got him with 0.0 on the odometer, ceramic coating wet shiny black, sooo beautiful....broke him in gently then it was time to slay and never look back. How do I post pics?
I have a ZL1 -1LE in Summit white ...lots of nice adds ... Ben is correct .. too much car for the General public .. around 720 HP in ours ... Never too much HP or cash lol nice video Ben
Hardly inferior, the camaro is the closest thing to a track beast, but the hellcat is faster in a straight line. Both bad ass cars, depends on preference
What u mean you don’t want a sunroom in a high performance car ? Shit I do lol 😂 it looks make the car look nice af when you take pictures when the sunroof is tilt downwards. But great video btw
For me it all depends on how much power the engine can make before it throws a rod out the side of the block. I know the Gen 3 Coyotes can live a healthy everyday life at 800-850whp and 900-1000whp if you feel like pushing it for special occasions.
Throttle house just did a vid comparing the new mustang gt500, hellcat red-eye widebody and the zl1 that most of you will find interesting! I love em all but the zl1 is no joke especially for the money!
I owned a 17 ZL1 A10, 18 ZL1 1LE & a 18 ZL1 A10. The ZL1 1LE is not anything compared to a 2020 GT500. The ZL1 1LE is a road race car that will gets its as* handed to it on the street & drag strip. I know because it use to happen to me. The ZL1 1LE is a Beautiful car but the gearing & Multimatic suspension killed it for me. ZL1 1LE factoid, the only rubber in your suspension is the tire.
Haha Provo Utah. They’ve got 1LE up there now, lol. Great car mostly track focus for $78,000 that’s a killer deal, but sucks as daily driver/long distance drive.
I can’t express how much I want this car😪 I legally cannot work not because I was in trouble with the law but I’m not gonna say why.. but some day I promise to my self I will own this car. If it’s the last thing I do
When I had 1000 miles I did 0 to 170 mph in my 2018 ZL1 the first thing I said after I let off the gas pedal was, Now I know why people modify even a 650 hp car I feel like the ZL1 could use another 100 hp it’s beyond me why Chevy doesn’t put the Lt5 755 hp in the 2020/2021 ZL1!!!!!!!!!!
Dream car Most definitely you all talk all about this amazing beast but one thing which I think it’s the actual experience the smell of the “New “ the “scent “ the “aroma” this is where I find the experience to be hidden...
With the idea of the engineering that they have in the 8 or 10 speed automatic transmission, electronically and transmission oil pressure sensitive, yes, your gonna have some speedy response,
Forrest Gump said "Lt. Dan can ride in the back of my Camaro". 😀 I looked at all domestic muscle cars and came out that for the $$ the ZL1 1LE can NOT be beat. Dodge & Ford are $20 grand more and I do not see that much of a difference. I have ordered a 2023 ZL1 1LE Black and they're saying 6 to 10 months for delivery. Good time coming... indeed.
