Talk about being creative......normally people will fabricate a huge jig with rails to router the entire enclosure top, but here you proved that you can get the same results with some ingenuity. Those lil tricks are what keeps you on the top. Keep up the great work.

Great work. I stuffed amps and a 10in 10wm behind the seat. ...didnt want to sacrifice the floor space. Needed a seat shift bracket to make it work. Though, I got the 21wx back there in a 14L box with no seat shift and a fab'd b&o mount. Zen a2b, optical to helix ultra, helix c four to a pillar AF gb25 and AF gb10 door sails. Mmats 6150hifi to the doors and a gb25 gb10 center channel. Mmats 600.2 to the focal 10wm behind the seat in a 15L box. Still tuning, first time I've used a dsp. Voice coil to listening position so critical..need to measure again as my crossover zones are 1.5 db off of level. Love watching the pros, I learn with each vid.

What is the best 6-8” subs on the market in your opinion. I have always had jl but it’s been about 5 years since I had a set of subs so it’s time to get back into it. I am looking to put a custom box in my 19 f250 platinum. I like the raptor box I’m assuming you can customize it to say platinum and match the leather color.

I like the box but are the build for the dimension of the type of speaker. I was thinking 4 10" Sundowns and are the wires quick disconnected . Great Job!!!!

When you designed the port for this box, with the wedge shape of the enclosure, did you have to account for the port area with a triangle and rectangular shape?

Pressure fit... a very tight, well calculated, very experienced perfect gap. Sage is the master at that, never seen another person pull it off and not create problems in the future... maybe a future video he can explain his methods and why they work when done right

how much more bass does this give over 2 shallow mount 10's that are sealed? I currently have two 10's under my rear truck seat and I am thinking about switching to this setup if there is more base

No comparison..... The quad 6.5" is absolutely the best you can do under the seat of the truck without raising the seats... It's also the most expensive, but the output is not comparable to "shallow" subwoofers.

No seat lift, factory location. I would need to confirm the tuning frequency exactly, but we stay within the 33 to 38hz range depending on the customers goals.

Is there any difference in the position of the port on these boxes? (Side vs rear vs front facing port)

Probably not. We run them it the back, that way if you have the doors open, you don't loose the output. Front makes it difficult to fit everything, while staying under the seat.. But in a closed door application, i wouldn't worry the position of the port, but more of the correct airspace and correct port tuning.

Question: When I model this enclosure in WinISD, using the .89cuft volume (per side) you stated in the video, the tuning looks good but the cone excursion is off the charts. In fact, I have been making model after model in WinISD using 6.5" woofers, and it's damned near impossible to make any vented enclosure that doesn't have a big problem with cone excursion. How do you cope with this problem in your 6.5" sub builds?

Allow me to reply to my own question: Duhhh, I was using the wrong piston diameter/cone area. I blame the DC Audio website! For their 6.5" sub they have Sd listed as 14.314 sq cm. They must be smoking crack over there. A 6.5" cone has an Sd in the ballpark of 130 sq cm. I'll bet they moved the decimal point to the left by accident.

Not without alot of modifications and multi-piece adapters. I would recommend a good set of 6.5-inch speakers if you want higher performance than what a 6x8 can provide

At the current time, we do not have a enclosure for your truck. It takes us a while to figure out the acoustics (what sounds good) of the vehicle so not sure we will tackle the 1999 for a while. Many people build them to "fit" but that's only a part of the equation and not sure who to recommend. Possible a local shop that specializes in high end builds and they can put together a package for you.

Thanks for reaching out! Are you doing the installation or having a local shop do it? The biggest key factors of a great system, especially a high-power system is the proper acoustical and electrical tuning. I would focus more on this rather than the gear! That's like trying to pick out ingredients for a meal without having a chef... Start with the Chef first

I would let the local shop guide you in the right direction. If you don't trust them to design the system you want, then you are not at the right shop. I would search your local area and find a shop you can trust for the whole project.
