I recently bought a few things from these guys. I have a ram 1500 laramie. I bought the half rack mount because of e-Torque Battery, 6.5 mount plates and tweeter mount plates. Once I'm ready I'll be installing Jl Audio C7 speakers. Another guy online has the 3.5" speaker pods for the pillars. I used rivets and foam tape for those to get them mounted after cutting a hole for the speakers.
I have most of the equipment already. Started 2 years ago and glad I did because the prices have increased. The plan is I will be using two Vx600/6i amps, bridged, one for left, one for right channel. I have the Vx1000/1i for subs. Waiting on funds for the subs and box. I thought about going JL Stealthbox 10" subs but I'm looking at other options. And i bought a lithium battery for the amps. titan 8+.
Does the factory crossover/dsp type settings live in the factory amp or the head unit? Will adding this SDMI25 take away the head unit settings such as the dolby settings etc. If this device changes MOST connection to stereo spdif then will we no longer have fade control?
I’m installing a ham radio behind the seat (control head in the overhead console sunglass holder) and this installation video is amazingly helpful for routing the cabling! you all dispose of the OEM amplifier fomoco 18T806 bracket (2015-2017 F150)… would you sell me one? just the bracket, not the amp.
It's the small details that add up to quality. Just things like putting plastic protective wrap on the vehicle FIRST, before you ever remove a panel And vacuuming out the sub box after you've drilled holes. Can't tell you how many pounds of sawdust I've found inside sub boxes supposedly made by "pros." Really nice shop, btw. Great design. Having the woodshop physically walled off from everything else keeps the dust and noise "over there" so the installers can work in peace and the sales floor portion stays clean and quiet as well. It all adds up!
It’s one of the very few subwoofers from Focal that recommended specs should be used with caution. We find this subwoofer in most applications performs better in a larger enclosure
A pro tip with all the access you guys have pre-terminate the speaker end of the wires and secure them in their locations then run it back to the amp. I do custom audio and visual systems for business jets.
@SoundsGoodStereo Looks good, Sage. It's great to see the entire tear-down and installation process to see what all is involved and exactly what all you get for the price of the different system tier packages. On a side note, I don't think you should waste your time trying to capture an in-vehicle demo of the before & after audio in the truck, especially using a GoPro. It just doesn't translate to your viewers/listeners in any meaningful way to demonstrate the real life differences of what you are actually hearing in the truck. If you really want to capture at least a somewhat accurate facsimile of what you are actually hearing in the vehicle for your viewers, set up BARNIE in the drivers seat and record the audio with it connected to something like the new Zoom H6 Essential recorder, or even the Zoom H1 Essential recorder (you can easily afford either as a write-off/business expense). These have 32-bit float recording so that you can't clip the audio, but you'll still have to be careful not to "clip" and distort the microphone capsules, especially with too much bass SPL. Or at least get the Sennheiser Ambeo Smart Headset for iPhone which is a simple, easy to use pair of binaural earbuds/headset microphones like Peter Steinbacher from PSsound uses for his in-car demos. Cheers As a reference, if you want to check out one of my in-car stereo system demo recordings, you can download a 183mb 320kbps MP3 file from the following link (just remove the spaces and insert the proper Internet Hyperlink characters that are named or indicated by the TEXT that is in ALL CAPS). It's not a perfect perfect facsimile due to my slightly flawed microphone technique, but it should give you a better idea of what is possible. Make sure to wear HEADPHONES or Earbuds/IEMs when listening to it... https COLON DOUBLE FORWARD SLASH 1drv D0T ms FORWARD SLASH u FORWARD SLASH s!AmW70ymwG0gjnGy6Hjz3mgh09iWQ?e=w5Zjol
I think I may need to change my grounding location and run straight to the battery instead of that grounding location down by the floor on the passenger side
If it's a aluminum body truck, these are glued together. You have to run to the battery for the ground. If you are dropping too much, either your battery is low or you are drawing too much current (Gains not set properly)
@@SoundsGoodStereoI get the stealth appearance. I just don't understand why the tweeters closer to you in the door and not in the factory location on the dash and mid in the door. Is there some sort of acoustic benefit with that layout?
How many days is an Elevated full Utopia installation in a Ram TRX? I'm thinking maybe a vaca trip to TN if it's only a few days. I have a 2022 that I have been holding off until I see a setup done in! Which you are doing!
The first one (This video) set the groundwork. We have the "Elevated" TRX Package down from 6 weeks to 8 business days. The cheaper package (First Truck) we can complete in 3 business days. The next "Elevated" slot we have is July 8th if you would like to lock it in.
Cant wait to see some of the comments on here from people who've never experienced this level of equipment and installation. "Bro, my Skar 1500.1 sounds so much better than this $40k stereo".
What's up guys ? So I have a 2008 mercedes sl550. 2 door hard top. I'm trying to build my first serious sq system. I have been looking at these Eton 8" 2 ways. I'll be building each enclosure in the kicks. I'm in the states so eton , steg , rainbow are all pretty new to me. I am thinking a subwoofer in the passenger kick but my question is.. do these 8's provide enough front stage bass ? Or would I still want a dedicated sub woofer ? I'm here in indiana and don't know of any high end shops so your help or any other commenters would be greatly appreciated.
