You never drove Honda's CVT and you can get a 10 speed with the accord, unibrow beats the wide mouth catfish look lol. Plus Hyundai had to settle for their lame engines malfunctions.
Both are good cars for their segment. If more people bought the car they need as opposed to the car that follows the herd (read CUV/SUV) the mid-sized segment would sell even better than they do. I would be happy with either but I like the styling (interior and exterior) of the Sonata more to my taste - but that's it. A matter of taste!
The Accords interior looks two generations behind the Sonata. The Sonata's interior and tech is superior to the Accord. The Accord is big. The 1.5T in the Accord mixes oil and gas when it gets cold so in would never buy it. Then there is the CVT in the Honda which is a no.
CVT will last longer than Hyundai duel clutch. Honda interior is the luxury standard , not outdated. That new looking Hyundai interior will look more outdated than the Honda in ten years.
People are buying SUVs for the AWD. Offer AWD with good engines on sedans and people will buy them. Dont do what Toyota is doing with the lame 2.0L for the AWD Camry/Avalon/ES
Designwise, the Honda will age gracefully but the Hyundai would look dorky after a couple years. Hyundai interior is so cheapskate and their engines will explode. Honda is more luxurious and more reliable. Go for a Honda everybody!!
