I agree Mazda gives you the impression that the car is elegant without trying too hard. Camry and Sonata are trying too hard to look aggressive. Accord is.neutral and blend.on the looks.
My favorite is the K5 GT and second is the Honda Accord 2.0t. I heard they are discontinuing the Mazda 6 for 2022. Pricing is too high compared to the competition, and Mazda sold only 40,000 units in 2020.
@@hrhtreeoflife4815 eyyy congrats! I got a 2021 Mazda 6 Carbon Edition about 3 months ago, I love it so much too! Hope you enjoy the heck outta your car!!
Soul red Mazda catches my attention every time i see one on road. When they said it's Mazda's flagship, i really realized they're missing out. People buy new Genesis luxobarges, so they'd buy a Mazda luxobarge as well. It'll be interesting when they move 6 onto RWD platform
Just got me a 2021 Mazda 6 Grand Touring Turbo and I love it. It has the luxury feel of a Lexus and the acceleration and torque of a sports car. It's sleek and sporty at a reasonable price.
Same Honestly, they're all nice mid-sized sedans but I always wanted a Mazda but couldn't afford one till now. You get the most bang for your buck in luxury, style and handling. Certainly not the most fuel efficient but who drives a 2.5 liter luxury sedan for fuel efficiency?
@@techocrazy We fit just fine in the car. The trunk has great space. Very very comfortable car plus it has power when it's needed. Long distance travel is a breeze. I can't be happier with my choice. Beautiful functional car. I would definitely by another Mazda 6 signature in the future or it's replacement.
Nah the Camry’s with the two tone roof’s look sporty and aggressive looking 🤤. The Mazda is more of a luxury design and it executes it beautifully. At the end of the day they are both very nice looking cars and it comes down to what kind of styling you like imo.
the problem is these car guys test em and always recommend getting the 300hp versions etc. but most people buying a corolla arent looking for hp. fuel economy is more important.
Exactly!! All they have to say it's snappy when you need to take off or it's slower then the other. No one is going to go on a track with these commuter cars lol
I wasn't in the market for a mid-size sedan necessarily--I was in the market for a *hybrid*, for this reason. Test drove four different cars and ended up dithering between the cheapest and most expensive of the lot: the hybrid Corolla and the hybrid Sonata. The Corolla felt more downmarket, not a lot of room in back, but it just had a great road feel, the most fun to drive of the four. But while I was dithering, another buyer snapped up the only hybrid Corolla on the lot. So I went with the Sonata hybrid, which is a fantastic car. I think it actually had the worst fuel mileage of the four because it was the biggest car, but I still get just a hair under 50 MPG most of the time. The car guys are not gonna like that one, though--the internal combustion engine is smaller than the regular Sonata's, though the electric motor is helping to push from a standing start.
My sonata is a 2008 with 150,000 miles on it. Never did anything but tires, batteries and oil changes, still gets 0-60 around 7 just like when it was new. No oil burning, comfortable, and I've driven it cross country several times. I've thought about buying a new one, but they have downgraded their engines so much I just couldn't see the point. I still get 30mph on the highway, it's a great car.
I have a 2009 Sonata with 145k and a similar experience except 0-60 is probably low 8s (2.4l). I’ll add mine has been totaled…twice, but she keeps on going! What these reviewers often fail to account for is longevity of the vehicle. Honda and Hyundai have been having engine issues over the past 5+ years once they exceed 100k, so I no longer trust them.
They’re redoing it. It might have a new damn and design. They’re not getting rid of it permanently. They’re rebuilding their lineup. Now it will be like Infiniti. CX 50 CX 30 CX 90 Mazda 3 Mazda 60 possibly?
Last year we bought a Mazda 3 fully loaded and it just shook me when I found that it was in a lot of ways just as good as our BMW 328xi fully loaded, and only for half the price. And this year we added a mazda 6 signature, and it's just such a nice a car that as first time mazda owners we give mazda a 10/10 on both cars.
As a 6 Signature owner I can confirm, I've made a lot of my friends who owned Acura's and Lexus' change teams lol. The other cars in this video have gotten nicer but none of them have the same "hand sculpted/crafted" look to them inside and out like the 6 has. IMO the other 3 (and the KIA K5) look like ugly cybernetic bugs in the face, their design's have only been out like 3-4 years and are already ageing poorly. They just look like their trying to hard to be "futuristic" and that's exactly why Honda toned down the look on the new Civic to not look like a failed science experiment, or something a 16 year old designed in his CAD class like the last generation Civic did...
@@vg4472 I have a 2003 Mazda6, 300k and goes like new. true, some things might rust, so every other car, but gosh, i can´t believe it goes as well as it does with so many years and miles. From Mazda3 to Mazda6, the latest gen Mazda's are just WOW. Amazing stuff. Pieces of Art to look at. Well done Mazda! Clearly giving Accord's a run for their money.
@@JoseFernandez-wu8pj Yes, the 6 is luxurious and timeless. The other 3 cars in this video look like UGLY cybernetic bugs that are trying to hard to look futuristic. The Mazda6 has ridden off into the sunset now, but that it still looks that incredibly good next to much fresher rivals speaks volumes. Would be my personal choice over the Camry and Sonata easily, and probably over the Accord just by a hair.
I can somehow relate. I bought the sonata limited last year before the n-line was available. Limited only adds heated steering, ventilated seats and some surround cameras. N-line does seem like the best choice.
@@dustinprenger1374 I agree, because the Limited is more luxury oriented. The N-Line sonata is missing a few features from the Limited but compares to the TRD. The Mazda 6 delivers on both these aspects in a sense but it's outdated in both.
If the Accord was a 2.0T, It will be on the 1st position, Mazda6 is a great car, but its starting to age now, TRD Camry's looks great for what it is, but as far as I know, it's tuned to be efficient rather than performance and the transmission tends to stay in top gears. For the Hyundai its ugly AF but the interior looks classy.
I wouldn't say that the mazda 6 is getting old but it need a good refresh. And a great refresh shall it get in 2022 mazda 6 is no more no idea what they will be calling the replacement but in line 6 RWD is all I need to say. And I am excited to see what Mazda going to give us next year
My sentiment exactly. They are comparing apples to oranges. Toyota is a sports tuned sedan, and Mazda is more of a luxury sedan, so why not compare the top version of every car?
Its a shame Honda didn't give them the 2.0T especially since its a tuned down CTR engine! I have one in a 6 speed and it honestly surprises me how fun it is. Add to the fact it has a great seating position(Im 6'), massive rear seats and a spacious trunk its a great daily driver. Biggest downside to the accord is the rear styling IMO.
i'm 6'8", and i geniunely can't fit in the accord, which is ridiculous considering how large it is. i fit in my dad's 2013 accord no problem. the issue is that they just don't allow the seat to move very far back. when it's as far as it can go, there's still a ton of backseat room. because of this, i fit better in much smaller sedans, such as the Mercedes CLA and Audi A3 because they allow the front seats to move as far back as you'd like. this issue exists in a recent nissan altima rental i had as well. So for truly tall people that want a sedan, you're pretty much forced to go German.
@@wl2486 I can see being that tall would be very challenging to find a car you can fit in. I know a lot of people tend to move to a SUV or larger vehicle rather than a sadan just because they are forced to. It would depend on the shape of your body too. I'm more torso than legs so I don't have a problem with hoe far back the seat goes. That is why I also really appreciate the accord because it sits much lower in the car versus others so you really feel like you sit in it. This allows me to have ample head room while not having to lean the seat back so far I can't reach the steering wheel comfortably.
@@muramasa870 dude here’s the thing! My buddy has a 2009 Lexus GX470, same exact problem. This gigantic truck, but the seat barely goes back far enough to sit in. Yet, I can get into a Mercedes A220, and be far more comfortable. Go figure
I'll go for the TRD Camry. I'm nearly 60yrs old and have owned a BMW, Porsche, MBZ, and a Honda. I now drive a '13 Camry SE V6 and I'm surprised that it has become my favorite car of anything I've owned. It definitely is reliable, no joke. Many enthusiasts look down at my "Appliance" but I will outdrive you, the car is very capable, and if you beat me, hey, it's just a Camry.
I just bought a second hand Mazda 6 after 2 months of hardcore research. I owned only Alfa Romeo’s 145/147/159 (i was extremely happy with those cars btw 🥰) But they stopped making station models 😢 (and i needed space for my kids) But I didn’t wanted to buy a suv I wanted the same luxury, refinement and sportiness But I also reliability good dealerships and a reasonable price All that led me to the Mazda 6 sportbreak I have it now for the 3th day and boy I must admit What a great car ! 😮 Reading all these comments Im so glad i made the wright choice 🎉
@@kim99jung Again, we can't always choose what we want. The 2.0 wasn't available, we still wanted to include the Accord because it is still relevant with the 1.5. And the N-Line didn't exist yet when we shot this.

A moment of silence for all Nissan Altima fans 😭😂🙏 The Honda Accord 2.0T Sport should have been featured in this comparison instead because it has a much more powerful and exciting Type R engine under the hood for a good value.
Seeing public busses, parking garages and people picking up litter made me miss home. Nice change from the canyon driving I often watch. Kudos to the outside camera person. Oh - and the cars are nice too haha.
The Mazda 6 Carbon Edition is the BEST value in the midsize sedan market today. It has nearly all the same features as the Signature without the price. Glad I got mine before they stopped making them. We may never see another Gem like this Mazda 6
The Mazda 6 is a great car no doubt but how is yours holding up to road debree striking the bumper/hood? The versions before this one also had an issue with the bumper corner becoming detached by the wheel well. The body of the car itself was also quite thin.
@@vg4472 So far so good….I mean it’s still brand new, but I haven’t seen anything concerning yet. I drive mine a lot on the highway, so I think I’ll find out soon. Worse case scenario, I’ll get PPF on the hood and front bumper

In 2018 I saw a Snowflake Pearl Mazda6 Signature with the parchment (white) interior. I fell in love and leased it for 3 years. At 2 years I found I had $1600 in equity even tho I only put $500 down when I leased it. So we moved into a ‘20 CX-9 lease a year early. Jump ahead 3 years and we decided to “buy” a sedan and eschew leasing and the redundant SUV world. This is fine, but what's missing is some thoughts on longevity. The turbo, for example, probably not an ideal choice that most people don't factor in. Naturally aspirated Toyotas and especially Hondas have a reputation of running forever. It's not just about how a car performs new.
MOST of the reviews on cars are focused on the here and now and not longevity, Reliability. who cares how quickly you go from 0 to 60? punching the engine like that regularly will ruin the engine!

It's difficult to tell where the side and nose of the car are. Meaning while the car is very easy to drive and park; in a way parking can be slightly cumbersome. @@misk.421 All still pretty much the same as three months ago. Flat out GREAT car. I'm getting excellent mileage in-town, but I stress that is on in-town freeways. Meaning across Phoenix, half with traffic and half pretty much devoid of traffic. The car is rated at 27-City and 37-Highway, and I'd say that's about right. In-town it's 25-28, and on the freeway to/from Phx to Prescott at roughly 75 mph (ranging from 65 to 85), it's about 37 mpg. Now, in-town on the freeways, averaging 60-70, it's getting 40-42 mpg. At least compared to my prior Sonata (a 2013), which did not have that minor issue. Awesome, awesome car all around, I just love it. Let's see. One other minor tidbit that's a bit annoying. I have driven on the freeways when it was really quiet at a constant 55mph, and it gets a staggering 55mpg at that speed. More realistically, it's about 45 mpg at 65 mph, falling to 40 at 75-80, then 37mpg or so at 85mph. Take care.

We obviously wanted all the cars to be the top trim levels but when it comes down to it they are rarely all available at the same time IF they are even all in the press fleets at the same time. We review what is available at the time. This happens to everyone, from us to Motor Trend.
It really won’t. It’s quick, for sure, but the car struggles to put the power down thanks to the lack of LSD and the stability control is always intervening. The Camry doesn’t have an LSD either but the NA V6 isn’t as demanding. Also, the TRD package makes for some noticeable improvements to handling and braking that place it out in front of the Honda- assuming you want a sedan that handles and brakes better. I respect that you can still buy the Honda with a stick but, let’s be honest, the manual is atrocious with it’s vague clutch and the motor has rev hang for days. The CVT is a better match. - Not that I’m knocking the Accord. It’s comfortable and good looking I just don’t think it’s very sporty outside the speed. And the speed IS impressive. The car is as fast as my 2011 SHO and my Ford has a twin turbo V6 making over 360 bhp!
Sheesh, the Camry won one review. Relax. Accords are good cars. Always have been, always will be, but I do get tired of everybody kissing their butt on every review. Especially when I know for a fact that it doesn’t deserve the win. Personally I’d give the Camry the win, but with a different trim. I think an XSE trim with AWD is the way to go. Nice relaxed ride, better interior materials than ANY version of the Accord, all wheel drive security, and a naturally aspirated 4 and torque converted automatic that’s almost guaranteed to be more reliable than the oil-soaked 1.5T in the accord and it’s CVT.
I found it impressive that a video I saw earlier pitted the Camry against a Masda 6. Both times the Mazda 6 won a drag race, with lower horsepower, higher torque, and a 4-cylinder (the Camry was a V6)! I guess you can tell I’m a Mazda fan!?!?
The Camry TRD looks the coolest and sounds the best and will be the longest lasting and in TRD best handling and fun to drive. I will take the Camry easily.
This is why I have trust issues. This is the first review I've heard or read that says the Mazda isn't good to drive when everything else I've seen read says the Mazda is the best driving car of any in it's class. 🤷🏻♂️
