2020 Hyundai Kona Review | An AWD Crossover Under $25k 

Bought one for my daughter. Great vehicle & best warranty out there!

I've been driving a 2005 Accent forever now, really want to get a Kona for some reason. I can't explain it, but I suspect I would love this car. Thanks for the review.

Absolutely love my new 2021 Kona Limited AWD. HATED trading in my 2018 Elantra Sport, but my knee injuries from a crash in 2011 was making it too difficult to get in and out of a sedan, so I reluctantly had to move up to an SUV. I've never been anything but a coupe or sedan person, but when necessity requires, and I couldn't be happier with my choice! Couldn't ask for more value/features for the money, no better warranty available, reliability and quality, all best value for the money! This is my 3rd Hyundai in a row (2013 Elantra Coupe GS, 2018 Elantra Sport, now 2021 Kona Limited AWD), Unless Hyundai really does something untoward, I am a Hyundai loyalist for life!

Great review! I've had my 2018 Kona SEL AWD for 14 months and love everything about it...it's the same as your test car, Pulse Red with black roof!

I have a 2018 kona sel thunder gray and I love it!

A tech package is available for the SEL, adds fog lights, sunroof, power drivers seat, and Infiniti audio system. And vanity lights.

I don’t usually like red cars but this one, with the black top and trims is gorgeous. Too bad it does not come with a spare storage.

I have 64k on my 18 Elantra with the same motor. Runs great. I have a manual, and in the warm weather, I get 47 plus mpg. In the winter with snows, I get 37-39mpg. Been real reliable. Oil cap says 5w20. Manual says either 5w20 or 5w30. I use 5w30. Synthetic and change it every 4-4500k. I wouldnt get the turbo and dual clutch set up. I'd get it in base motor and auto transmission

Man I'm torn between the Kona SEL plus AWD and the 2020 Kia Soul EX with tech package for my next vehicle. Both are Unique vehicles and offer almost the same technology for the price. I have a 2017 Kia Soul + I love it so much, but not sure if I REALLY need the AWD haha. Your reviews are the greatest!

I drove a Kona and an Elantra GT today/ same motor and Powertrain. The Kona looks cool but was kinda dull inside and didn’t ride as well as the GT. Was also anemic with the 2.0 litre; the Elantra has 15 more HP and made all the difference.

Hello Andrew! Nice review of the Hyundai Kona which I wasn't aware of so far. I also like the upper daylight running light and the lower positioned headlights, which gives a nice design touch. The fenders not being available in body color is a fair critique that I certainly agree on! The additional 1500 US$ for the 4WD option is quite inexpensive. How much is it if you want to add an X-Drive to a BMW? 3000-5000 US$?? :D Nice, solid shots as always a ton of work for you, including the research... my respect!! :)

I really like the Kona, I line the space, the outside design, those plastic fenders (cheaper to fix when damage and no paint) but it needs a lower price, but I know you could haggle the price down. The negative are the following. 1. No theft deterrent on base model. Hyundais base model are very easily stolen, my 2017 Atlanta got stolen in 10 minutes using a screwdriver. 2. Get an electronic E brake. Since is to narrow that would free up a lot of valuable space up front. 3. Offer LEDs headlight at all trims and that would make a safer car. Hyundais are difficult with after markets headlights. 4. Better gauges, they super boring, nowadays we have digital instrument cluster that just like our android phones we can customized 5. Place the headlights were.the belong. Being down would get dirtier much more quickly. No the next is just a personal taste. I dont like dual clutch transmission. Dual exhaust Other than that is good vehicle IMO.

I love this car. If you like this car, you will love the Intimate.

you poor americans... canadian ones come with heated steering wheels. i have an 18 "luxury", in the blue, 17" wheels, leather seats, and only difference(with 2020 luxury) since it's older is 1 usb port and no wireless charger (i use android auto anyhow). it's a great little beast survived its first canadian winter last year excellently.

What the heck. Is it me or was that a surprisingly meaty exhaust note for an entry level engine.

Looks like a lot of plastic around the wheel wells and sides of the vehicle.
