One of the best living-with-a-machine reviews I've ever seen. Just no nonsense and what it's really like to deal with. The good, bad and the ugly with no slick talk. Many thanks!
@@kenilykustoms Watched your video again. Concur with your pro's and con's. Tracks seem to hold a lot of mud. As this is my first track machine, I'm not sure if this is common with them or just Kubota. Did you do the oil change at 50 hours? Manual wasn't too clear on that. They also say to change the hydraulic filter at 50 hrs. Have to raise the cab in order to get to that filter apparently. Have 20 hrs on mine now, all good. Great machine.
I did both of mine at 100 hours. and again at 250. I can't believe I already have almost 300 hours on it. I guess it was a good investment! and yes you do have to tilt the cab for the hydraulic filter, but it's pretty easy.
I just picked up a 75-2 with 230 hours…. Looking at the service manual it appears that the first oil change is at 250 hours? How can that be? Also, the only item to replace in first 50 hours is the hydraulic filter
If I remember right the maintenance schedule in the book said every 500 hours to change oil but if you read the part of the book that talks about break in the first oil change was at 50 or 100 hours. I can't remember exactly. My machine has 400+ hours on it and I have changed the oil 3 times. In my opinion that schedule is for construction companies that run their machines close to 8 hours a day every day. I think for us landowners where the machine sits a lot in-between it is better to change more frequent. Just my opinion! Thanks for watching.
nice, a real beauty. what does a unit like that go for OTD? any particular reasons why you chose a skid steer vs tractor? in the market, doing research. thanks
The cost depends on your market, but I think MSRP is around $60,000. I have a tractor as well, without a loader, and it has it's place. I was just asked the same question from a friend looking to buy one or the other. I think a skid steer is more versatile and does the work faster than a tractor, however a skid steer skids, so if you are working around your yard or something you don't want to disturb the ground a tractor would be better. Someday I will get a loader for my tractor too. I think they are both important tools, but if I could only have one, I would choose a skid steer for my needs.
What year is your machine? I noticed your idle control is on a dial not a lever. I have the identical machine except for I have a lever for my throttle. I believe mine's in 18.
It is a 2020 model. I am not sure what year they made the switch from lever to knob. It has been a real good machine for me. Have you had any issues with yours?
No. Not a thing. I have fifteen different attachments and use it almost daily. Great machine. My windows do vibrate a little bit, and I had the same complaint you did about the heat and air control under your arm. And I kind of wish the bucket release switch was on the right side because then you could release your bucket while you're driving so you don't have to stop to switch implements. But it's just little stuff like that.
I tried a case tr270 before I got an svl75…. Case controls are so jerky, almost unpredictable… I realize that there is a way to reduce sensitivity, but the machine was nowhere near as smooth as the Kubota.
I am glad you like it. I still love mine and was just talking with my wife and dad that I don't think I could live without that machine. Thanks for watching!
@@kenilykustoms thanks. Agreed. Mine is 7 foot and I was wondering just how accurate the height measurement on the brochure is. I ordered a 75-2 and trying to find the real height for clearance. Next place will have 8 foot doors but I have 7 now where I am hoping to park it. Much appreciated!
I just did a quick check of my machine and it measures about 82". You might get lucky and it will squeeze in, I would have a spotter and make sure the machine doesn't bounce going in or out!! Good luck with your new machine. I think you will be very happy with it.
@@kenilykustoms much appreciated you taking the time to do that. Yeah I literally have between 82.5 to 83 inches on the other side touching the weather seal flap. Defiently gonna be close. That does give me hope tho that I can keep it in there out of the elements and away from creatures nesting. Im pretty excited this is personal use my 1st of a machine of this calibur and a lifetime purchase. I hope to have for the next 40 years. Thanks again
@@kenilykustoms lukilynit fit! Only shy of an inch before touching the rubber but good... Question - When you hookup attachments and grapples mowers etc as such do you find you have to top off hydraulic fluid? I just took delivery of a new svl 75-2 and had it brought with a skidnpro industrial grapple and I only have 5 hours on it and notice my sight glass is about 1/4 vs 1/2 full where the red line is. Also trying to determine how much is needed to top off what is seen in that level. Is it a quart or a gallon...lastly what hydraulic fluid are you using and adding when needed any info is greatly appreciated.
I agree that is a pain! I forgot to mention it. I am building a fuel tank to solve that issue. Please check back to the channel to see my solution. Thanks for watching!
I have another fix for that as well. Check out my solution in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-LF55IndWmgM.html It was cheap, and it is so much easier than dealing with gas cans
Any tricks to clean it? Or keep mud out? I tried spraying it with WD 40 before getting in the mud. We used to do it in motocross, but it doesn't seen to work on the skidder.
@@kenilykustoms nope. Take it to the car wash every dang day blow it out Nd get muddy and wet. Worst track designs there are. The new cats have the best design
I have found that with the door in the up position i hear a lot of rattles, but with the door closed it is mostly quiet. At least as quiet as a skid steer is expected. I usually operate with the door closed since I LOVE my climate control!!! Problem solved.
