2020 Mini Cooper S long-term review: Farewell! 

Everyone I know who has ever owned a mini has loved it

I have a Mini R56 Cooper S 2012 Model here in India. I’m 6 ft 2 inches tall and I fit perfectly in the driver’s seat. And my wife and I drive it about on holidays and things and for two people and their luggage, this is more than adequate. I take it for golf and am able to fit my golf bag and trolley in it too. Rear seats folded down of course.

Why is half this review on space? It’s a Mini! If you want space get an SUV jeez

25mpg is appalling! The One delivers better fuel economy, apparently. It ought to be at least 35mpg to be a sure-fire bet!

It's is absolutely fine for tall people, because I'm about 6ft, 2inches tall and I can fit comfortably in the passenger seat of both BMW and Original MINI's

I have loved all 3 of mine including the one I drive now ('21 hardtop S). As hot as you want to push it, cool as shit, and that rounded little bean shape is just so, MINI!!! As far as the storage space, I can actually get quite a lot into mine and as far as the lag with auto off at stops, I flip that switch to OFF as soon as I start her up.

The Cooper SE is definitely the MINI most people have been looking forward 2 this year. However, it isn't the first all-electric MINI...................Remember the MINI E prototype????

I have the one hatch. Im 6'1 and ive driven with my 6'5 dad behind me a few times for around 20 mins and it was fine. The boot though is very small, and you can only put one suit case in it

If you buy 3 door one you better hope thy fixed the doors rubbing away the inner door frames like my 2015 Cooper S F56,seems the body being stiff and ride firm and very long doors on the 3 door Mini may suffer from body flex but it takes the paint off down to the metal BMW has no propper fix and will not admit there is an issue or recall.25k miles and inner door frame and rubber door seals worn and a mess now. Look it up it's not just my 3 door Mini.

Awful car, one of the worst cars I have ever driven, aside from the Fiat 500X which is even worse. I have been driving a cooper s rental for two weeks, I do a 100 mile round trip to work each day. Its like driving in a fish tank with a fisher price steering wheel. Ok, the 2 litre engine is pokey and it handles well, but the driving position is uncomfortable, the steering wheel can only be adjusted up and down. I'm average height. The door speaker is right where your knee rests, the centre console has an edge that digs into the other leg, your left foot sometimes hits the foot rest when pressing the clutch. What is that handbrake thing for God's sake? The dash is just shite, the fake carbon fibre dash is cheap and tacky. Its hard to read the speedo and rev counter, the fuel computer is in litres/ 100km so is useless unless you have a calculator on hand. You can't read what the switch gear does and its just too far away for practicality. That big round thing with the screen is just ugly, the screen is tiny and the connectivity is awful and for android: only bluetooth connectivity (Before July 2020). Boot and rear seat is tiny, only to be expected perhaps. Oh, and sounds terrible, like somebody farting into a biscuit tin. The car is all quirk and no substance. I'm sure there's more. Just awful. Avoid like the plague.

You are meant to put the normal square bottle of Gordons gin in the door pocket. NOT that round one you had!
