I wouldn't hesitate in regards to the venison quality. I've heard pronghorn can be bad if they're shot moving fast, but I've only ever taken one of them, and it was just walking and tasted excellent. I don't know if it's as much the running versus how the meat is cared for after the shot. I've never had a deer taste anything but excellent.
Hard to know for sure if he was 2.5 or 3.5. If he was 2.5, he was very nice for 2.5. If he was 3.5, he wasn't too huge for 3.5. If I had to guess, I'd say probably 2.5.
This buck was harvested this year as a meat deer. Judging him based off this year, my guess he is 2.5 in this video. I saved the teeth and will send in after we get a couple more deer to get aged. Probably after next year I will have an answer based off the teeth.
If that 🦌 deer's panting doesn't slow down soon; you might think lung diease, or lung worms. Maybe I'm just paranoid, bee reading a lot about "wasting disease". Does MN have a tissue testing lab? Good luck, hope you get a bigger more mature buck.
I wouldn't be talking too loud about trying to shoot a second buck here in MN!!!! I realize we can party hunt but things are getting a little too easy to get your @ss in a jam!
New subscriber here. Love your video, nice buck that I would have had trouble passing! We have a similar RU-vid channel if you want to check it out, "Hunt and Gather with the Chatters". Thanks!
