hi friend, I own a 35 year old 2017 and I guarantee you that I am selling that car, a toilet that desperation. in a very short time the front differential was destroyed. after a short time the frictions no longer wanted to work, he used the gear 1,3, 5 and R. a shitty experience. I don't use it anymore, I completely lost faith in this car and in Nissan, the service they offer was painful "my car was stopped 3 months before they decided to repair it. fucking shit experience with the nissan gtr r 35.

Regarding the turbo lag, you're in sixth gear... It's obviously going to take the maximum amount of time for the turbos to even begin to spool. Also, you shouldn't be lugging the engine by flooring it in such a high gear at low speeds. It puts a lot of unnecessary stress on the engine itself. Take the advice and please never do it again.

WRX/STi owners always preach about how bad it is accelerating too hard in higher gears when you’re not in the power band
Absolutely right, whenever I see these kind of act in a turbo car tune for highend torque presentation. The presenter will say look how long the turbo lag is. Come on, it is at FREAK-EN 6th Gear!!! Don't present if you do not know how each car's turbo react before you present to the public. It is like how come the car won't adjust itself when you start the car in 6th Gear.
When did that price jump happen? Once upon a time, the miracle that was the GTR was the fact that for $100,000 you could by a sports car that could rival the exotics in performance for half the money. Now it's 'exotically' priced.
It is curious - I am an owner of a brand new GT-R MY 2020 Prestige Edition (German version) and whenever I drive in automatic mode and all the 3 switches are set in normal position it makes no difference in acceleration - the Double Clutch reacts so fast and changes the gears, you do not feel any turbo lag ... either the US-version is curbed or you are not pushing the gas pedal enough ...

You talk about being outdated but steering wheel column mounted paddle shifters are just that. Much more ergonomic keeping both hands in the same position when turning. Smh.
Take my word you can do it, start by buying flat 1 or 2 bedrooms, then sell it you can make at least 20/30k then save money don't spend on your gf :) in 5 yrs you can afford 2025 R36 or at least NISMO
@Nathan Lentine stating that the paddle shifters not being attached to steering column is one of the things he doesn't care for even though paddles shifters on the steering wheel is ergonomically a much better fit shows he is WRONG. He contradicts himself by speaking of the old features and yet that is example of an older feature. To an extent, it is much so about culture. His opinion is not carried well. And I've seen every single review of GTRs since they have arrived on the scene. Well, at least every video there is on RU-vid. I know the culture, and I would say 90% of GTR enthusiasts would disagree about the paddle shifters. I also own a GTR.

Nissan should be taking good care of their halo car. They've been doing minor upgrades, selling various edition models for over 10 years, and now it feels so outdated. It's such a pity we won't be getting a new generation model any time soon, since the company is having financial problems.
This is by far one of my favorite super cars in da world. This 2020 Nissan GTR NISMO HERE IS AMAZING . Me I would have it in my favorite color purple n black if I could. Still this red color is cool. Love all da carbon fiber on this one here. One day I will get mine . Good job briefing this one bro . So fast
I had a 2013 Black edition R35 during 2012, loved the engine response however the body is so light, panels are weak and one major issue was the quality of materials used on the interior! plastics everywhere as if I'm in a camry.. that needs to be looked into if in case Nissan is coming with a new R36 hopefully! oh n their Recaro seats are lovely!
Just wanted to let you know these reviews are completely valid and I totally agree with your point about the lag, a 911 turbo s response way faster in auto mode when "gunning it".
He doesn't know anything about GTR's and turbo's. How do you expect to be at a certain mile per hour and in 6th gear and want full boost and no lag? You will damage the transmission.I own a GTR
@@maxxtech6712 We accelerated once in 6th just to show how the transmission responds. We also accelerated in manual mode to show an improvement, but note that there was still plenty of turbo lag compared to other cars we have driven. If you drive a modern BMW, Mercedes, or McLaren (or insert other car names) with turbos, the transmissions are quicker to downshift and the engines have less lag. That is the point we wanted to make in the video.
So r35 showed up for the first time in 2007 ,not 2009 ! And Nissan don't update the forms and design that much cuz it don't need that!Godzilla is made to set records and times like nobody can !Gt-R is not a luxury supercar to go show off , it's made to make the best supercar performance and the GT-R is "old shcool" cuz Nissan still want the driver feel that connection with his vehicle :3 Thats like info for anybody who sais that gtr is old , same design,not different from 2007 GTR ! Go look at the times and specs and then say that Godzilla has not change ^^
Awesome car but it’s been in production since 06. But if the new skyline is like a million dollars like that concept production ima stick with this one
6:05 nissan make us harder to reach the paddle shift because they already make the gearshift is far better than our own gearshift. u know what i mean? nissan and porsche is first company that make AUTOMATIC gearshift is far better than most MANUAL shifter racecar driver.
I like the car but what would definitely keep me away is no V8+ engine and the non premium interior. Those things kill this car for me, specially because is not a cheap car. Yet it has a cheap interior for its price. I really like the look of the car (although is already old looking being out there so many years) and I'm not hating, but this car definitely wouldn't be on my list. But I respect whoever has it or will buy the car, congratulations to you.
Launch control is not recommended by Nissan and is detrimental to the transmission. Nice review BTW!. I take a Nismo and other super cars on track day north of Montreal every summer over 2 weekends min. Last summer I drove the Lamborghini Huracan Performante and the Nismo the same afternoon with about a 15 min break between the two drives and I have to say that although I was impressed with the speed and handling of the Lambo, I preferred the GTR because of the better seating position and I just felt more confident driving it around the track at it's limits.
They also need to get this car to at least 700 torque horsepower can stay there. Porsche work some magic with their PDK and their almost non existent lag but there is something special about the GTR sort of like how Subaru STIs are slower than most cars nowadays but are just special to have fun in.
Good review, but my only thing is how can you try to accelerate in 6th gear like that under the powerband? Should have dropped 1-2 gears. All I’ve heard is that lugging turbo motors like that and going into boost at higher gears below 3K RPM is what kills engines. I’m an STi owner, and all Subaru guys talk about how that’s a big no-no
CarBuzz fair enough. Ok, you weren’t in 6th, fair enough. But you can still lug the engine in 3rd gear. I’m not hating, you did a good review and it was entertaining to watch
I thought the reasons why the paddle shifters are steering wheel based and not column based was obvious. Most ppl dont like it. Most if not all other vehicle manufactures are steering wheel based. They just had to get with the program. Simple
It doesn't shift as best dual clutches, because it has just a single clutch. That aside, you are complaining about things, that are the car's best selling points. People who buy GTRs, obviously like the hard drive (in R setting) and noise and turbo kick in high gear.
That’s how a turbo works if you’re in top gear with low revs and you’re trying to put it under load. Can’t believe this guy is talking about being in the right gear as if it’s an industry secret😂
Dear Nissan... Update Zilla's interior, and do bring the power to 750 plus and update it's mechanicals to that standard. It will go another 10 years in this body shell. Zilla is brutal...
If the majority out there feels that Zilla is dated then these changes can be done to make it updated, is what I meant... Dear Carbuzz. I am a big fan of Zilla. So this car must not disappear in one fine morning like the Evo. So told...
So basically its still the same as the past few years. I was hoping they would have done a little refresh to it. Still a great vehicle if you have the cash for it.
