The Patrol V6 for most buyers, gets the job done as they might have to commute either within the city or the regular inner-city journeys for which 276 hp is more than adequate as they won't be revving the nuts out of the car but cruising at idling speeds of 100 km/h between 2-3k rpm. You didn't find its drive scintillating because you tried to stretch it beyond its capacity. So it is meant for the family man, surely not for an enthusiast.
Fair opinion but I wouldn't say I was "stretching it beyond its limits" - in general it struggled to get up to highway speed, and passing was not exactly effortless.
@@amanatwal9008 V8 Ram 1500. I've had daily V6s in the past - the Patrol V6 is subpar in terms of performance and economy compared to them. It's fine - if thirsty - in the Xterra where it comes from.
Cars like nissan patrol, mitsubishi pajero, Land cruiser & prado r said that they r not updated for a long time but that is because it works and they all r good at off road and for long trips.
Just bought a 2023 model and i´m so happy with it. BTW, if you live in Dubai or UAE and want to drive on easy desert tracks go to the spot where this video was shot. Its called "Half desert road". Fun, easy and cool.
I think a turbo kit on this would move out. I defo wouldnt lool at buying one without a v8. Or maybe re design the v6td that was in the stx nissan navaras with a bit more boost upgrade would be needed.
super rare that i leave a comment on a video. I feel that the reviewer from the get-go attempt to put the car in a negative light. More like guilty until it is proven innocent! Not everyone built to be a reviewer. Even when has all the time in the world to respond to a comment, he responds with the wrong info.

Would have to disagree with MME, yes general solidity and reliability isn’t like the LC but its not that far off. However, build quality is way better, go see the interior of a LC and then sit in the Patrol and you’ll see the difference. General fit and finish and materials are much better than LC
Dee you're talking about material choices - yes I'd agree the Patrol is better in that regard. Fit and finish, about the same but the LCs last longer - way longer.
The 4L Prado is considerably lighter and more nimble than the 4L Patrol, which I don't really recommend. Neither is particularly great on fuel. If you need seven seats, the Patrol is your only choice. If you want to really enjoy the Patrol - get the V8.
I would say no as I have a 4.l prado that prado saves alot of fuel but it is very small and if you see a nissan patrol nismo that I have next a prado I will say a tes to patrol ad a bad no to prado but I will say that I love the prado
@@premlalwani7342 Well I don’t agree that 4 cylinder prado is fuel efficient. You’ll get more powerful V6 suv that are more fuel efficient than prado such as explorer, cx9, durango and even the v6 patrol will give same or better efficiency than prado.
Very nice review, bro I need a suggestion from you. Currently I'm having Honda pilot 2012 model with good fuel economy of 11 to 15 and thinking to switch to patrol. What's your opinion about fuel economy and maintenance costs of Nissan patrol or do you recommend any SUV in Dubai??
I bought a V6 it is a very good car and power is enough and the 7 gears gives it comfort. I drove even today offroad 90 minutes amazing it did not stuck. *I bought the lowest category in Patrol.
@@MotoringMiddleEast show me 1 video where a patrol loses to the 3.3 ton behemoth. Time arabgts video urself. Even in ur own video it was around 9 secs. The 2020 is A LOT heavier than the 2017, before you try to understand why, its cause of a million more features.
Do u own a land cruiser or smth? If u find this slow, try out a v6 land cruiser or prado 2.7. This thing does 200 so slow it aint. Probably drive it without constantly chanting it's a v6 so it's slow and then review it. The price difference isnt much for a person who already is splashing 270k dhs on a nissan. The impartiality in the review can be seen when hes going around a corner without pressing the accelerator and says this car is so slow
The V6 Land Cruiser is just as slow. You can get any car "up to 200" if you have infinite patience - most people have better things to do. The V8 is a far, far better car.
@@MotoringMiddleEast ofc its better, and not every car does 200, limiters exist. Brake torque and launch this and it keeps up with a 4.6 land cruiser without any probs
I pity the fool who lend this clown a patrol. Most of the things he mentions about the car is inaccurate, he is not even sure about the things he is talking about.
@@rashedalali5893 I have v6 I definitely recommend it. Its not slow I did 8.5 secs to 100 stock. I have got 6.7 from a 400 V8 but u won't feel it that much slower
The V 8 gasoline engines 5.6 has much more horsepowers and torques than the V6 4.0 ,by far and better fuel efficient than the 4.0 v 6 , Toyota landcruiser lc 200 is stepping downward to V6 3.5 twins turbos with 450 horsepowers, but can be very dangerous towards seriously off roading , and others hauling over 7000 pounds or more with a trailer.
I like the response of the VQ40 (in the Xterra, not the Patrol where it struggles) but it's a lot thirstier than the GR. Neither is a great match for the cars they're in - the old LC 4.5 straight-six is way nicer to drive but its V8-like thirst wouldn't fly today.
Another Toyota fanboy who does a "objective" (NOT) review of the Nissan patrol. What's the point of doing a review if you have already made your mind up.
All Electric vehicles are the future. Gas and diesel are OLD polluting technology and belong in a museum next to the steam engine display. Drive a Tesla and everything else seems quant and out dated.
