Not a bad review - I own a Carrera S Convertible (992). Only one issue: what you said about the brake pedal is not true for the series. I've driven three 992 - you have to test a car before you order it of course - and none had this dead-travel issue. It must have been the particular car you drove - should be checked, there was definitely something off with this particular copy.
I picked up my 992 CS in November (order it in January). The car is great but this will be my last 911 (unless I can get a GT car). The car is really good but its almost too good. ITs a very "sterile" experience if I had to define it. I wish I would have kept my 991 GTS.
Top up, I agree that it is great looking. But top down, isn’t as good looking as the Boxster. There is something about that rear hump, that is not flattering.
I never understood why a coupe would be better than a cabriolet. A cabriolet is different. Point. It appeals to a different consumers segment which has a different behaviour as to enjoy driving. Everything else is superfluous.
"2 inches of dead travel..".... In a911???? Shouldn't be there at all. Better legal feel in cars one fifth the price... Should get this looked at.... Something missed in the QC??
Conan3145 simply untrue. I’d agreed to the purchase of a 2019 Cayman GTS, “highly” optioned. Unfortunately, the car was accidentally damaged within the dealership and I canceled the purchase.Instead, I ordered a 992 C4S, which I’ve driven now for 6 months, and have put 7,500 miles on it. These cars are both so sporting, yet both so different. First, my car is all-wheeled-drive, rear steering addition, and other even standard items that aren’t even available as options on the Cayman/Boxster. This is much more powerful, more roomy, highest tech electronics, more comfortable. That “elephant” in the room is nondescript. Don’t get me wrong, the new Cayman is fantastic, but it’s certainly not the new 911.
Great review Dan - you look 4 foot tall with seat on lowest level lol 😝 - beautiful car but hard top with sunroof or targa top maybe as after tow Mini cabrio/convertibles I prefer hard tops as convertible cars always flex with age
