I have a 2020 Limited and have been scouring for this exact information in video, picture, forum, man you name it for months. Thanks for posting this, you rock.
Even in entry/exit mode you could clear 37s! That air suspension is insane with 3” of motion. I still won’t get it yet because I don’t tow, and always lift my trucks anyway - plus it’s not a luxury I want to fork out for yet. At any rate this was a very helpful video thank you mate!
I was really interested in lifting my 2020 1500 ecodiesel 4x4 until BDS told me that if I installed this kit on my truck the front driveshafts will fail. Did you replace the stock shafts with longer ones?
I’m about to install some tires onto my Ram 2020 w/ a 4” BDS air suspension kit. My question to you is, should I turn my tire jack mode on prior to Discount tire installing the tires? And should also turn on the wheel alignment mode? I’m a bit confused.
As always thanks for another great video. Rocky I need a video on how to use the navigation how do you shows. And use it. Example I want to see all fast food and gas stations. When driving how do you use voice command
Not sure if you guys cares but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can watch all of the new series on Instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my girlfriend for the last couple of weeks =)
Thanks for sharing this information. I just finished my level/lift and put the 35 Ridge Grapplers on. Why do you no use aero? Does you truck have the air dam flap that actuates with aero? That will help with mileage I believe.
hey got your message.now watch after all you have done and showed .the same question will come up again on the "Ram Face Book".but i have been following you for awhile.never miss and episode.thanks a lot for all the info and tips.still follow you on "FB"and here.your site are well and informative😍😎‼
How do you turn off the auto aero mode while going down the highway? I have 35’s on my limited with stock suspension and it is awesome On off-road 2.. on aero and entry exit it runs..
Checking to see if you could confirm that you can drive in entry Exit mode under a certain speed? I would need it in Entry mode to back it into my garage, and wanted to check.
Man your truck looks awesome can you tell me how much you pay for the lift plus installation. I would like to do that on my 19 limited ram and I got the air suspension .
Another option is a “Level Link” that locks the air suspension at the appropriate height for new wheels for $150. Installing Fuel Siege wheels 22X12 with Nitto Ridge Grappler @ 305/45/22... no rubbing. Just some ideas for you.
I have a 2020 limited 1500 gas. Is there a kit that can be installed to just level out the truck? I still want to use the stock 20” tires but would like to level things out
Looks really good, thinking of doing it myself especially since it doesn't change the ride quality...But what is your actual average gas mileage with that much lift and does it changeif you drive it in lower heights?
Damn that’s really good MPG. I’m well below that with only 33 inch tires added from its stock configuration. Earlier this months, I bought my 2019 limited. Granted it’s 5.7 L V8 and 4wd so that’s probably why.
Hey Rocky I have a 2019 Rebel without the air suspension would like the 4" BDS with 35 12.5 18 on Method 305. What would the total height be the height at normal mode or the height at entry mode? Thanks.
I installed it on the first ecodiesel out. Something about front driveline will wear prematurely.. the kit bolted up and worked for Me with no issues.. contact BDS and see what they say.
LOVE THE TRUCK!!! I JUST ORDERED A 2021 ECO DIESEL WITH THE AIR SUSPENSION AND WOULD LIKE TO RUN A 35X12.5X20 ON MINE. CAN YOU TELL ME EXACTLY WHAT YOU DID TO GET YOURS SO NICE, LEVEL AND SO THEY WILL CLEAR. THANKS PETE IN OHIO
You can install the revel links with daystar spacers and remove the plastic splash guards and you will be fine. If you want to do the bds 4” lift it will work also. I actually installed 35’s just by removing the splash guards without anything and the rubbed just a little at full lock. It’s up to you but if your truck does not have 3.92 I would recommend a 33” tire. If you have 3.21 gears and absolutely want 35’s I would try to keep tire weight less than 55 pounds. If I was doing it over again revel links to level 33x12.50 nitto trails. This would prob keep you around 25 mpg average. 35’s and lift will knock it down to 17-18 average. All just my opinion but I have had the 19 hemi and 20 eco..
I know Rough Country offers a 5" lift kit for the 2019 RAM Limited 1500 4x4 which I have. In your opinion, why BDS over Rough Country? And my truck came with 20" wheels; will I be able to upgrade to 22" wheels, or should I stay with the 20'S? Besides looks, are the smaller 18"-20" wheels better for off-road? I have to admit your truck looks awesome, and I love the look of the chrome wheels vs the black ones (at least on the RAM with all the chrome accents). Thanks for providing us with your videos.
BDS is higher quality and no fine print guaranty. If you’re going to take your truck off road I would recommend BDS. But if you’re going to stick to pavement Rough Country can probably be sufficient.
@@ryanneyland2997 thanks a lot for your reply. If the only difference is 1" taller in height, but BDS offers a higher quality product; than I'd go with BDS. Even though I may never truly go off-roading; but I'd like to have that piece of mind if I did.
Sorry for the late reply. Bds has a good warranty. Not going to downplay rough country I just didn’t want talker than 4” on 35’s. To me 5” needs 37’s to look right. Bds has also made the kit for many years and has a good design. I’m sure the rough country is a great lift also it was just my preference on bds.
@@RockyRohde Thanks for the input. I'm sure both are good products and do the job intended. I know the price of the BDS is slightly higher than Rough Country's. It's like choosing between Smith & Wesson and Colt, they are both great products and do the same job. I think when the time finally comes around that I pull the "trigger," I will go with the BDS. Now I just have to decide on wheels and tires?
Thanks to your recommendation I am taking my 2020 ram limited to outlaw Texas for a BDS lift. My question is, does your total measurement height include the antenna fin on the roof of the truck? Thanks.
The one with the measurements you did at every height is the one I watched. Trying to determine if I put 35s on the truck if it will fit in my garage. Thanks for your videos on your 1500. Helped alot and got me connected with outlaw Texas. I'm in Arizona
I’m actually going to get this exact lift kit installed with your Victoria installer. Coming from Houston... but it’s worth it for peace of mind. With that said, I wanted to ask if you have speed limitations on the Entry/Exit mode?
Yes.. all modes still function as normal. I have known the installer here for a long time. They do good work and being a Bds dealer they stand behind the product.
Yes they were the best reviews I could find anywhere. I need to call their office tomorrow to talk particulars. I would want to keep it in “aero mode” for the large majority of the time and then obviously raise it when entering mud. I just bought 33 inch Toyo AT3’s last week so regretting that decision. I’m hoping they don’t look weird once this lift is installed.
I have 33s on my truck as well but have been wanting to do this. How did it turn out for you? Also, if you don’t mind, how much did the kit w install cost?
@Roy Pacheco I’m sorry for the late response. I’m just now seeing this. With that said, the lift was approximately $2400 and then $1000 or so for install (could’ve been a little more). I added an aftermarket sway bar ($250) and 1.5 inch wheel spacer. All in, it’s about $4,500. So not cheap at all but with BDS it’s worth the price. Now here is the crazy part, my installation is set for next Thursday! It took FOREVER to have it ordered and shipped. It’s been 8 weeks since I paid the down payment and order officially made. But it’s going to be worth the wait. I’ll come back and let you know how it looks on 33 inch tires. But I’m definitely assuming I’ll end up buying 34’s soon after. I think I’m gonna go with the BFG KM3’s.
That is a great Looking ride! ....How's the ride after adding this BDS 4" lift? does it vibrates too much is it to hard? One shop here in Sn Antonio told me not to lift my 2019 Ram 1500 limited (with air suspension) because it runs like crap...but rather than listening to him I will like to read/hear your experience with the truck ride and handling...do you recommend 100% this type of lift for a 2019 RAM 1500 Limited (air suspension)?..... I know your's also have the air suspension.
It's wild. I have the rough country 5" lift for air suspension and also have the ORP. My measurement are identical to yours even though it is supposedly a 5" instead of 4" lift. Anyone else have this same issue. There is another video that shows the same thing with rough country lift. Are you measuring from the top of the fender flare or the bottom? You said top I know but wanted to make sure. Our measurements are the same if it's from the bottom not the top.
How are you liking the RC lift? It's a good grand cheaper but I won't be off-roading. How badly was your mpg affected and did you calibrate it for the bigger tire size? I've heard if you put above 32.75" (2715mm) it knocks out the brake sensors and park assist on the Limited's with the 2022 models
@@landofnor @landofnor had it for a year and I do a bit of weekend off-road driving and it is holding up well. It won't go places my RZR will go but it does pretty well. I have an ecodiesel and went with 35 and it only dropped my mpg by 2mpg on average maybe a little more in stop and go traffic. Park assist is gone but brakes weren't affected and that was only after getting the tire size calibrated.
@@myrick2636 ty. So I have two choices if I go for the 35s. Either have it set to the wrong size of tire and keep the brake sensors working or set it correctly and lost the parkassist. Is it just the park assist that stops working but keeps the sensors active or is it the sensors not working which then stops the park assist working?
I was told by BDS that they are still waiting for their engineering group to approve this lift for 2020's. I have a 1500, 2020 Limited Night Edition and have ordered the lift (week 5 of waiting). So no problems installing it?
How did everything work out for you with the lift kit? I have the exact same truck ass you and I'm trying to decide what brand kit, bds or rough country, and would love to know if it effects the overall ride quality of the truck? Thanks for any info!
Rocky just a question why did you go with the BDS over using your original links/spacer/upper Ctrl arms? Also did you replace the upper control arms with the BDS kit
Can you drive the vehicle on the entry / exit settings without it lifting to its highest level? I am asking for my spouse she might feel a little uncomfortable with it being so high and her being so tiny. Also, does it affect the warranty of the truck from the manufacture having air suspension? Thank You! I love your rims and tires can you share the name of rims and tires?
Truck will always revert to normal on air suspension. It only allows certain settings at certain speeds. The wheels are 22x10 fuel assault and tires are 35x12.50 Nitto Ridge Grapplers
Thanks again for this video and your help. I did all the measurements today and have one quick question...how tall are you? It’s one thing to measure but knowing if you’re close to my height (6’0”) will put things in better perspective. I keep looking for new rams with lifts here in Houston but nothing so far.
I always wondered if one could lift a Ram with air suspension, now I know! Question, why is it higher in the front than the back after the lift? Is there a way to keep a 1.5 inch rake? I sure wish RAM would put the 6.4 Hemi in the 1500. That should give Ford and Chevy something to sweat over.
@@BreckoniousMaximus its being replaced by the in line 6 hurricane 3.0L engine. The TRX is also getting the high output engine with twin turbo. I believe both engines require high octane fuel, but may be wrong, but certainly the high output version. IMHO, I think this is a big mistake. You can't beat the sound of these large displacement V8s. Don't get me wrong, the new engines appear to be fast but there's something about the V8 which cannot be replicated. I'm glad I got a 2022 Ram 1500 Limited. I went with the RC 5" lift and so far not any issues at all.
