How dare you want to see White in 2020... What are you trying to imply now? The guts you have trying to disrespect George Floyd and his homies in the hood.
I've ONLY ever used the right shift key in my life - for the secondary functions of the numerical keys and this ? symbol - for actually typing out capital letters I've always used and always WILL use CapsLock. For me it's just as fast to press it once, type the capital letter and then press CapsLock again to release as it is for other people to hold left Shift (which my left hand simply can't do, despite trying hard to train it)
Now think about how many more times did you use the up and down keys. I code all the time when I'm not gaming and can't overstate how important arrow keys are for me. Sucks that people want a bigger key they'd never use instead of something this important. Even people who use MS Word or Excel a lot need the arrow keys.
I truly recommend this laptop. This thing performs as it should and provides a great experience. It doesn’t get loud and even the lowest config provides a great gaming experience. It may have a high price tag but after going through multiple cheap laptops with similarly specked components I can tell you quality is important and can be found in the razor blade 15.

If you guys are on a budget but still want a Razer Blade laptop you might want to consider the Razer Blade 15 2019 Base Model. I did an unboxing and setup video here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-_kDyG7Dlcog.html

My Razer Blade 15 after 2 years and 2 months of amazing extra care with it just got a battery swelling... pretty common on this brand, so it seems... FFS... and yeah I use Dave to vent too...
What about the 2019 ones? I'm thinking about getting one bit if it had these kind of problems then I'm not wasting money. Any insights world be helpful. :)
it is i got last year one since they happen to had it in tax free shop... but i don't used it so much since anything break it so much expensive to repair..
Got the 2019 Blade 15 to replace my Blade 14 ( 2017 ) and I’m happy with it Premium portable design and quality Good performance Good battery Nice screen It doesn’t overheat
I'm still running on the same 14 one, but the experience was only great for half a year. After that the noise has been getting on my nerves and two months ago the battery swole up. Yesterday I found out that the mouse buttons do not work anymore. Doesnt matter that Razer products are slim and nice looking if they die in a matter of two years. Highly dissappointed and I would never buy Razer again.

You're absolutely right about laptop speaker! I got my Zephyrus G14 and was shocked by the quality of its speakers. Apart from specs, I also look for the quality of sound the speakers produce. I'll buy a Razer once they give it a good set of speakers.
Have you had issues with your G14 though? I've had mine for less than a year and the CPU thermal throttles like crazy, so damn disappointed. Think I'm gonna get this laptop, honestly.
Got a used razor base model today at Best Buy for 1,400 something and I’m so pleased with it!!! It only has the tiniest scratch so it was definitely worth the hundred or so dollars I saved when overtime computers don’t stay pristine anyways!! My bf got the advanced model also used with another small ass scratch that took down the price! There were only these two available in the entire store, for razor laptops so I think we got super lucky today 🤍 it’s like there was meant to be two just for us waiting!!!! We didn’t want to order our gaming laptop online because we impatient lol and also we have crazy neighbors who have sadly fucked with our packages in the past Thank you for this review now I feel like I made a good solid decision for the money I spent! @@stevengeorges9046 the only thing you can do realy is to download Razer Synapse 3.0 and set, either the performance down or to turn up the fan speed to max. Most extreme thing you can do is to liquid metal it.
I'm writing this comment from RTX2080 OLED 4K touch 2019 model. I own a startup company that does GPU-based technology for sound makers. Well, what I can say, this is a kick-ass stuff. I love that it looks similar to the god damned MacBook Pro (which has poor GPU computing support) but it's just limitless more powerful. I do gaming from-time-to-time but I don't need 98253769857Hz refresh rate. More of that, you guys also don't need 300 Hz of refresh rate because playing over the Internet will not grant you 1/300 ~= 0.33 msec of ping latency, forget about that. So don't get fooled with these marketing catchy words about refresh rate - you will never receive any data with such tiny latency (same, you need to process this before seeing this on your screen, etc), simply, it's computer science. I advise anyone to purchase OLED instead. There are two interesting points in the 2020 model: a novel CPU with 9xx iGPU embedded and the RTX-S version. Other stuff is the same.
How's the OLED with image retention, and in daily use in general? There is so few I formation on them but it seems they work finde for office stuff too?
It has a very clean look, sturdy build that can stand a bit of abuse, good specs with some upgradable components and decent i/o (for a modern laptop at least, extra points for a full-sized SD card slot). If I were looking for a long-time laptop, I would definitely consider a Razer Blade.
Best Buy had an amazing sale a month ago on the 2019 Advanced model, so I picked up the Mercury White one for my birthday for about $700 off. Loving it!👌😎

I purchased a 2020 Blade Base model with the RTX 2070 Max-Q last week, they are going for pretty good prices right now since the RTX 30 models are out. I really love the thing, one of the big standouts for me is how easy it is to travel with. I travel for work pretty frequently and it's always been hassle to bring my gaming laptops with me, the size, weight, and the stunningly horrible battery life even in mundane tasks. The Blade is small, light weight, and I can get 4+ hours out of the battery and then when I get to the hotel I can plug in and play AAA titles. Of course, the clean aesthetics are also a big plus for me, it just looks quality. That being said, I do agree with you, it has it's place and it's not for everyone, there are a lot of other good laptops out there.
It's not! I'm really happy that I got the 2019 in promotion few months ago! I wouldn't have bought the new one.... Way more expensive (25%) for 15% upper spec on the advanced only lol. What a joke.
@@OhWanya I want the RTX SUPER line (I know it's Max-Q, but my work will benefit from it). I want those fixed arrow keys. But I'm looking at the 17" with QHD 120hz as it has better color accuracy than the OLED panel version from the 15"

Dave - what is your assessment of the actual Razer Blade hardware quality? I am one of the army of Razer Blade 15 Advanced 2018 customers who had the notorious camera hardware failure. A great quality company provides great support as well. What i learned is that, not only is there a design flaw in this model, but they also don't stand behind it and divert customers to software "fixes" that don't work or a $100 RMA fee to diagnose the (knkown) problem. This really needs to showcase more in reviews. Tells the true character of the company when products fail.
Dont buy a Razer Blade ever, I bought a Blade 15 Advanced last year in June, and I have a swollen battery just one month out of warranty. There are a LOT of people having this issue, so, ill recommend doing a thorough research on Razer laptops( go through Razer insider - the official razer forum ) before buying.

Hey guys I have a question regarding the vapor chamber on the advanced model. I noticed at 1:56 that the advanced model no longer has the orange copper vapor chamber for 2020? Did they paint it black or put a film over it? I just found it odd compared to a 2019 model with the bottom cover unscrewed.
"The company that lands on good speakers on a gaming is going to win some amazing award. No one's doing it." ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14: Am I a joke to you?
Just got one a week ago! I've been looking to get a razer for about a year and following dave for a bit longer than that. Dave is absolutely right that it depends on each person's situation and needs. I already had a 144hz 2k 27in monitor for high fps games (overwatch etc). So my top 3 must have list came down to performance, mercury white and room for storage. I went with the base 2020 mercury white oled (the screen is stunning & bright). With performance I think the 2070max-q is still really good. I can 4k game on my screen and immerse myself in how good Los Santos looks in GTA 5 (on very high with some extra field of view and shadows turned on) and get a smooth 60fps (4k). With my razer 2020 base oled hooked up to my 144hz monitor I get over 144fps on high tweaked or medium in Overwatch, it feels really smooth. Dave is right with his previous videos about fast fps games, you aren't stopping to appreciate the lighting and shadow effects of a tree. You may in games like GTA V, RDR2 and others. Regarding storage, I got a second 2tb drive so I can actually have room for all the games, having that second slot was really important to me because of this. The fit and finish is great (my first razer and it was a bit of a woaaah in person) and I don't think I'll ever tire of how it looks and feels. To be fair because it is an OLED it does drain the battery life quicker and that's fine for a few hours of unplugged mixed use but I planned on plugging in for games anyways. I did also purchase the best buy 3 year warranty. Thank you Dave, your reviews have helped me explore the world of gaming laptops better.
Regarding battery life if it helps anyone, I was getting 1 hr, and noticed under System>Power & Battery it was stuck on Performance and I couldn't change it. The solutions was to go to Control Panel (Windows Key +R, then type "control") > Hardware and Sound > Power Options > Choose a power plan > select "Balanced". Then when you go back to System > Power & Battery you can select "Best Power Efficiency"
Hey Dave thanks for the review. I recently ordered the 2020 advanced with the2080 s maxq I'm always hearing about razers price and was very confused as to why. In my research to buy a new laptop I looked at several same or similarly spec devices and heres what I found Msi gs66 2999.99 Aorus 15g 2999.99 Alienware 3959.99 Asus zephyrus s15 2999.99 My razer was 2999.99 Exact same prices across the board excluding Alienware. So why is the perception so off. Is it marketing or are people not comparing same specs or looking at lower tear devices? Just seems odd that everyone says razer is priced higher.
Towards the high-end, their prices do start to match their competition, but for the “lower-end” you can get better performance for less. Razer doesn’t seem to want to compromise on their premium features, but they come with a price premium as well. At the end of the day, it depends on how much you value those features
You are not comparing the lower tear models... no one is going to buy a 2080 right off the back .. razer 1660ti price is way to high msi & asus prices are much lower you can get a 2060 for 1500 where as razer you spending a whopping 2000-2500 .
@@Jin17104 I did. This was my first laptop purchase since the 90's. I get that not everyone has 3k to drop. All I was saying is the advanced seems to be in-line with the other higher end products. As well as the 17 the base may be a different story. I didn't shop it
