We have this same model, not this specific one, but one identical, same year and everything. The only issues we had were when we first purchased it were with the alignment on the chassis was just dreadful. After two trips to Chevy and then purchasing a very heavy duty steering stabilizer it cruises great. Just this summer we completed a 3000 mile 8 state journey from Texas all the way up to Yellowstone, back down through Idaho, Utah, back across Colorado and New Mexico and home. This thing performed fabulous. With the exception of going up and down 6% to 10% grades and up to 11300 feet in elevation, which was scary, but nevertheless the motor home was great. Heck we drove it everywhere, did we get to see absolutely everything? No, but having your own bathroom and kitchen with you everywhere was awesome! Need to leave the dogs in the RV? No problem, fire up the generator and run the A/C. Need to use the bathroom? No problem, just go. Need to have lunch? No problem. Get the auto-leveling for sure but this was a great experience!
750 lb. cab-over bed rating is fantastic. Gives the consumer more confidence in the quality and durability of the unit’s construction. As you said, while it’s very unlikely it would have to hold that much weight you never know and it definitely DOES give peace of mind ti those sleeping in it. Good job, Jayco. I hope RV manufacturers start providing such high-capacity bedding in bunkhouse models. What good is it to have beds that can only accommodate kids or very small adults? Doing so prevents couples from traveling and camping together - in fact, IMO RV makers should launch a campaign emphasizing how their products are so sturdy that they can easily accommodate adult couples.
I find myself in love with RVs. I didn’t know why until u told the story of camping as a child. My granddad didn’t have a RV but he had this van that had small kitchen and bed in it. I use to love going on road trips in that van. Thanks for bringing those memories to my attention
Now *I'M* the one remembering my family trips as a kid! My grandparents had a big van I remember being able to spot a McDonalds from a mile away in that thing lol
I shared this on Facebook and tagged my wife. Her reply was the she was short, but not easy. Thinking a class C might be best for me. I have a 6 speed manual Subaru Forester I could use as a toad. The kids can play games and use the bathroom while I am driving. My kid's don't weigh 750 pounds, but they could destroy an anvil with a rubber hammer, so sturdier is always better.
That's one of those "50/50" things I think. Half of people agree with you. Half are inclined to disagree. So Jayco has to pick one and stick with it. It's likely easier for them to continue using the same sink thru their lineup rather than change sinks for each model.
I like the size, and the big overhead bunk. But, you can sure see the cost-cutting measures... such as the lack of any windows in the cabover bed, and the cheap, sagging sheet-like privacy curtain. Otherwise, this rig would be ideal for me if it had a fixed rear bed and no slideout room.
I wonder how tough it would be to remove the dinette and put in two recliners. Also, I dont see the red lettering for emergency exit on that rear window.
I was thinking the same thing! Would love recliners in there instead, also did not notice a TV connect in the bedroom. I’m a Ford girl, have not had a Chevy in many moons, but this looks really nice!
They make one like it, but removing the bed slide naturally requires the RV to be lengthened by 4-ish feet. The bed slide is what makes the shorter length possible without a corner bed that makes you crawl over one another (and is a pain to put sheets onto).
Just a few questions? One day in the short foreseeable future I will not have a choice but to live on the road. I have done much research on all of this and I am still baffled when comes to cargo van conversion vs something like this for full time living. My main concern is lifespan? things happening where it turns into a money sink? 4 season weather handling? (but nothing too extreme but always a possibility). I have read that if something goes wrong with an RV that it takes a lot of $$ to fix it, from appliances to even something as simple as a tire? or if a breakdown occurs it would have to be fixed by a dealer only? making it very hard to get fixed. I do like these being they have more room and more storage no matter how customized a van is and the price would come out about the same being I am not Mr handyman. Basically, I would just like to live out my last days with very few worries as I will have enough to worry about it.
There are too many variables and hypotheticals here to offers a coherent answer simply via RU-vid's limited message system. Best recommendation is to form a relationship with one of our sales team members who can get to know you and offer more personalized information.
@@lorrieannesilvey474 I'm not sure exactly what you're asking based on the phrasing of your question. I'm not in sales myself, though obviously Haylett RV sells plenty of things.
So, there's a rear view camera to allow you to check that your tow is still attached. Where does the picture show up? There's no screen in the middle of the dashboard (as there was with the larger Jayco motor homes). Or is this another of those, you gotta have the app on your now overtaxed smart-phone (which is working as your GPS, Tire-pressure monitor, telephone, etc.
They're several steps ahead on this one. See what looks like an oversized rear view mirror in the cab area? That's your camera. The positioning is fantastic as it allows you a very natural and organic place you're used to looking for rear viewing.
If i didn't have it listed at the 00:05 mark, then feel free to give our team a call for some quick answers. Jayco also has a free app weirdly called the "Jayco sales tool kit" that has a LOT of extra info not normally available on their website
I don't see where we have one on hand currently, but these run about the same as the 27N which you can see here bit.ly/31rkw6A The 27N & 22C are nearly identical in cost
This is a very subjective question. We openly welcome test drives of motorized RVs at our facility (in fact we encourage it). I feel fine with them, but I'm used to driving some of this big stuff.
Hey buddy, a couple of things I noticed that is different - 1 no slide awnings - 2 less tow capable - 3 rear camera isn't integrated in the 3rd brake .... Do you know why? Bc I noticed the Ford versions seem to be a better version. So My question is do you know why since your not far from where they make them?
This RV hasn't changed. You're comparing this Redhawk SE (aka Simple Edition) to a full Redhawk which has a higher trim package. Jayco builds this one two ways. "The Ford Versions seem to be a better version" also means it costs a *chunk* more. Literally thousands of dollars more.
I think this would be a great fit for me and my little dogs. Do you do financing for the credit challenged? I really need an RV, but am having trouble getting financed. I am a disabled veteran so payment is guaranteed.
@@gayleconant1100 We do not offer in-house financing, but have a list of lenders we can reach to. Obviously with nearly no information to go on I can't offer any sort of idea if we could/couldn't get you financed on an RV. However, I know the 100% sure fire way to NOT get you camping is to never make the attempt.
Those are not things you'll find in this price bracket is the easiest way I can say it. Jayco will start offering those features on their larger models It may be worth mentioning RVs like this do not use true "Thermal Windows." A dual pane window in an RV is almost never gas charged & offers virtually no additional R-Value They are good at reducing noise though
@@JoshtheRVNerd Plus, keeping cool A/C air in and the cold out. Thermal pane windows, make a big difference, to live comfortably in one! With the cost of rent these days, more and more people are living year round in them!
@@paulao7022 RVs like these do not use Thermal Pane windows however. Typically at best you may find "Dual Pane" windows, but they do not have a gas charge to provide significant R-Value improvement. They're good for reducing noise in the RV but that's been the only significant benefit I can find them providing. For condensation reduction one should really be using a dehumidifier as dual pane windows only mask the moisture in the air rather than remove it
Apologies - I am simply working ahead of the curve from our sales management team. We've been busy & they've been strapped down to working figures and payments for clients. I'm quite often able to get footage up before pricing is assigned. usually within a week I'll circle back to get things updated.
Haylett RV I’m interested hope it’s not the price of a mansion like all the rest!!!! Someone needs to come out with affordable camper vans like they had in the past
These have been sold and gone for a while. I haven't seen one roll in from jayco for a while so I'd have to ask you to contact our team since I don't have a good working figure currently. You can reach them at bit.ly/2QJ8Rbw
If you mean a small cargo tray for the receiver, then certainly. If you mean a full on built-on platform, then no. Jayco doesn't offer a model like they nor are they able to customize to that degree
Haylett RV That’s too bad, I really like the brand, the look, and the interiors. But I would not buy a unit without Azdel. I wish the whole industry would just move over to this product. Nobody wants to buy something and then five years later have the walls coming apart on the outside.
@@VocalVirgo Important to understand Azdel-using motorhome MFGs only use it in half the wall. The other half is still lauan. It's also not the azdel that fails and usually not the lauan that fails, but rather the glue that holds them all together. It is still possible for Azdel units to delaminate. Just trickier. Azdel also cannot stop the creation of mold spores if there is a leak. The #1 thing is to maintain your RV. Do that and it doesn't matter what substrates are used That being said I'm personally a big fan of Freedom Expresses who are pretty much the original Azdel user in the industry lol
Never have there been frameless windows in the Redhawk SE series you're seeing here. A full "Redhawk" proper will have things like frameless windows, slide awning, etc.
@@JoshtheRVNerd ooh okay didn't know that. I guess u learn something new every day haha. Yea we just bought a 2020 jayco Seneca 37L and it has frameless and I thought pretty much any motorhome over 2018 had frameless.
We are out currently and haven’t been able to get another in stock for a while. “In the 60’s” last I knew is the best I can offer though our team at 800-256-5196 can assist with something more specific if needed
@@JoshtheRVNerd Thanks I just called and talked to one of your salesman. I don't think it was you, but I'm looking for exactly what you have here but since my budget is only about 30,000 I was hoping you could find me a used one like this.
At the time this was recorded we had a minimal flat pricing on these of $59,995 But pricing has crept up since then with several updates and I do not have a good "bead" on it currently. I'd need to ask you to reach out to our sales team These Redhawk SE models we try to offer at pretty much base pricing and would estimate you'd still be able to get one for the low 60's plus Taxes/Tags
