Jayco likes giving both microwave and oven. Something you notice when you compare. Sink covers? Go buy a couple of Costco cutting boards, and get busy with a jigsaw or oscillating multi-tool. We made a second one because ours only came with a cover for the smaller sink, and extra prep space is nice. Our trailer has the bar at the door and a couple of stools, so you can delegate someone else to go over there for more prep area. That’s a nice looking coach, not loaded down with fluff and empty sparkle, and that tow rating is impressive.
I own one and wish I had a sofa instead of the dinette. Also, when the slide is in, there is no access to the closet. And, no solar. Don’t forget to let your audience know they need a wheel alignment ASAP. Somehow, the important info seems to be left out. I had to buy a spare tire, and why is there no rear stabilizer jacks when setting up camp.
Excellent! Appreciate the small size without the usual compromises that go with it. It isn't perfect...nothing is. But this is a very attractive little guy!
these shorty class c’s are super maneuverable. we pull a 6x10 enclosed trailer to haul bikes and tools and it all fits in most rv parks , so these little rv s are great for 2 people.
Regarding that cabinet over the bed with the cable passthrough, I would have simply run another USB outlet panel inside the cabinet too. Seriously, that's a foot or two of cable (if that) and the cost of another outlet plate. Better yet, a 110 or 12v outlet with USB combo in that cabinet would make it a sweet charging cabinet. Heck, they could have used light fixtures with USB outlets built in instead of a separate USB outlet on the underside on only one side of the bed. I suppose it's possible those lights are on a 110 circuit while the USB is on a 12v circuit, but that just makes the argument for making them 12v lights. Missed opportunity in my opinion.
It's nice to see it comes with everything you need and then some. Reminds me of the Class C my grandparents had. Lots of great memories. My grandparents being ones of The Greatest Generation would not use it to its full potential (The only time we used the generator was at Cades Cove and still washed in the river 😂). Thing would be awesome to boondock 💯
I wish you could do a factory view of slide outs. I find it interesting that you put people in these slide outs and travel with seat belts. The ones on trailers are sit at your own risk. I would love to hear Jayco give us the dirt on the slides they use with the ups, downs of their styles.
Not about the trailer. It’s about road mode and having to stop. The slide gets in the way with many models of trailers and the slides are listed as use at your own peril. The RV is set to use.
Josh, I am seriously considering this sort of rv over a toy Hauler because I can easily tow a 7x14 dual axle toy trailer and bring both my motorcycles as well as 2 ebikes and both my inflatable SUPs
My Wife and I are picking up this model on Friday.. Love how the front seats swivel, having the TV at the dinette and not in the upper bunk makes more sense to me... By getting a windshield cover, you can take advantage of the front cab, and have your privacy.... The build quality and warranty definitely helped in making the decision
Weight distributing hitches are designed to keep full weight in your steer axle when towing, instead of letting the tongue weight mess with your handling. When the rear overhang is equal to the wheelbase, that tongue weight essentially gives you the amount of weight that is coming off the steer axle. One ton guys think it doesn’t matter, and they’re partly right. The short overhang on modern pickups means you really have to load the back to notice much change in the front, but if you scale it before and after, you might be surprised.
I always wonder why they place the power towers, right by the water?! It doesn't seem like the best place, especially if there is water spray. I do however like the layout & the storage.😊 As always, great job, Josh?😊
Really nice but would prefer theater seats to a dinette (would need to move TV then) and a true residential queen. Great CCC for all the dog toys and treats! Is there options for additional solar and a 12V refrigerator? I appreciate seeing the smaller Class C without the cramped corner bed! Keep these motorized units coming! I am also a fan of what I call the "Baby A's" (the small Class A motorhomes,).
In my world, the coffee pot goes outside the camper. I can not stand the smell of coffee, never mind the taste. My hubs can enjoy his burned mud outside while I feel superior indoors. 😅 Seriously, I like this unit. It's not "perfect." I'd prefer a dinofa option in the slide if it's available. My back needs more support than a dinette would offer. Thanks for the video and suggestion, Uncle Josh. (It cracks me up to call you that, since I'm old enough to be your *slightly* older sister.) 😅
I love this rv! Love the size, the ford chassis, the fiberglass one piece over cab and roof! Does it have auto leveling? I do wish it had a compressor fridge. This fridge is so small. Interior storage is great! I would also prefer a single basin sink with cover to expand prep space in the kitchen and a counter extension. Those changes would create the perfect small, couple RV .
We could certainly inquire on your behalf there. i'm not sure myself as there is definitely no normal factory option for a no bed build and custom requests are difficult to fulfill in mass production systems
I really like this. I like the 10 pounds of sugar in a 5 pound bag. I was pleasantly surprised to find a dry bath, totally expected a wet bath due to the size. Speaking of the bath, I love love love how the door is properly fitted and framed! I can’t believe other manufacturers leave that (sometimes rather large) gap, all because they don’t want to go to the trouble of fitting it properly. What does that say about the rest of their quality control? 🤔
Man I couldn't imagine a motorhome with a wet bath. I see it all the time in the vans and I'm like "for THAT kind of money?! No way!!" But that's just my personal preference.
Thanks! Two questions ... could a true queen bendy bed be substituted (as long as the bend is the same distance from the head edge of the mattress), and - could the tv be positioned on a swivel arm over the kitchen sink, with access to that storage behind it like in some models? One might loose a little storage that way, but even in bed you could see the tv ... 😊
My question was similar. If you are going to put in a bendy mattress, why not make it a 60 x 80 in the first place? Great to have 7' ceilings for us taller folks, but the short them on the mattress. What were they thinking?
I like the size, but I need some type of office that supports a 32" monitor and laptop display. I would much appreciate you keeping your eyes out for something like that.
Josh, I'm debating between 24B and SE 22AF. But the Schwintek slide on the huge 24B slide worries me (I've read of many issues). It looks like the SE 22AF has a (better) rack & pinion slide on shorter slideout. Why do they use a better slideout on a less-expensive SE model (with short slide) than on a more-expensive 24B model (with long slideout)?
@Josh - Are you sure that the Solar will keep the batteries charged? I ask because in my '22 Alante 27A with the same 200 watt solar system it does NOT produce enough power to overcome the parasitic drain of the RV. Recent trip to TX and parked in direct sun the solar charger could NOT keep up with the stereo's drain. Jayco wired the 27A stereo (the one up front) so that it never actually turns off and just idling it will drain the coach batteries dead. Doesn't help that Jayco only provides a pair of 75A lead acid flooded batteries so there's no much capacity there.
If your disconnect is flipped, then yeah without question. If your battery is disconnected and your batteries are still draining, then something is wrong with your system. I've seen people use little 20w solar tenders to keep batteries topped off in storage. It doesn't take much if you're not using the RV.
SIDE NOTE. I fixed/upgraded a lot of the issues you bring up. And a neat trick we found with the main bed is to spin the mattress around for traveling - The fold up part then goes against the wall and the flat part towards the middle, making it virtually a sofa.
Better check on state laws if your going to swivel the front seat to sit it while going down the road.... Got a ticket for doing that in Iowa a few years back, don't know if they have changed that law.
It's nice to see you do a motorized RV. Nice RV. The 1st thing I noticed was the TV wasn't parked in the bunk. The ones I've seen have the worst placement, and there is no good way to watch it. The bunk looks like it has plenty of room, but there is no airflow unless you want the a/c on all the time. A small fan, similar to the ones in pop-up bunks, would be a good, cheap feature. I don't think you can drive it with the passenger seat reversed (you were talking about that, right? Not the driver being able to see the TV). I think you're unable to start the engine... I would love to see you review class B's. That is what I will likely purchase, it fits more in the way I want to travel.
I try to get a few here and there when I can. yeah I don’t think the passenger’s seat is intended to be backwards while driving. I’ve never actually looked into that though
Nice small motorhome, but seems like to large a slide for a Schwintek slide system. I see some Bish dealers have the Outdoors 20Bd TT in stock. Would be nice to see a video on one and wither the bathroom toliet is roomy enough and if there’s enough room for wife to do her hair in the morning. Nice video.
@@JoshtheRVNerd thanks for the reply. My old class C is a 2011 call a 350 chassis with the V 10 motor Ford motor. Later on in the video I noticed that the Jayco Redhawk is on a 450 chassis and has the V-8 motor in it. I didn’t know they had switched to a V8 motor, I’m guessing that it pulls these units just fine. I was surprised that they switch from a v10 to a V8 .
It’s totally mind boggling how RV manufacturers continue to build a decades old floorplan with nothing but a backbreaking dinette for seating and not even offer their customers an option for a comfortable sofa or theater seating😢and I’m sorry but no $100,000 RV with thousands of lbs of CCC should ever have a cheap plastic toilet and a Dollar Store 4” fart fan, but Jayco obviously loves them😩
I don’t understand people complaining about losing the bed in transit….you shouldn’t be using it when you’re driving anyway! That’s why they have the extra seatbelts! What is wrong with people!
My husband has had to pull over in a parking lot and nap on a longer trip. He works shift and just needed a break. We wouldn't put someone back there while going down the road.
@JoshtheRVNerd I checked out your slide video and how much weight is to much for schwintec slide? Just out of curiosity! If I had any rv personally, I would go with no slide version.
@@ndg9367 I don’t have specific weight numbers relating to how much the system reliably handles nor how much a slide weights in afraid. Basing my comments on observations
We own a 2021 24B. The Schwintek system in this case is the Achilles heel. The slide is 15' two level. Three issues with ours. Note, when extended, the suspension compresses and the head of the bed may be lower than the foot. Our dealership didn't order it with a leveling system. We were novices and didn't know better. It's prepped for one. But, we have a few 2x10 and park on them for now. We are considering having the Schwintek replaced with the Vroom slide out system. Had three water leaks. Jayco says the weight limit for the slide is 500lbs.
seems to me a full size queen bendy bed could fit, especially if can be ordered with bend in different place, tv in a good spot really, driver seats ARE your theatre seats lol, dinette down in bed position would make a nice tv lounge as well, and a place to sleep if slide not out. i kinda hate tv in the bunk area on all of them, as is most common, near anything better than that. simple reason anyone sleeping up there could kick it very easily, plus is crappy viewing angle anyway from all seats... this is a much better place for tv, chances are if using dinette as dinette for dinner or such, tv wont be that involved anyway..
So, obviously, in that slide people can sit in the dinette area (hence the seat belts for when in motion) right!?! Essentially, this still gives you a good place to sit and eat and also sleep (dinette and up top) while in road mode. You can still do pretty much everything you need to do if you have to stop for a night or for eating/bathroom stops. Why can't this type of slide out be used in a towable RV? Thanks! I am not so edumacated (🤣) on the slide outs but this would seem to make more sense for campers. --Brent
@@JoshtheRVNerd Okay. Thanks Josh!! Do many manufacturers have slide outs that can be used when retracted? Seems like most are not recommended to use in that way.
I dont know that I’ve seen enough of them to really feel super qualified to offer judgement like that. I just don’t have the years of motorized experience like I have in Towables
So, if I were to fly to Nebraska to save over $9000 (plus the bonus road trip), could I have it serviced in Longview, which is about four hours from my house?
Those V10's were about bulletproof. We had a pair of service trucks at my home store with those things for the longest time. The trucks got beat up badly but that engine just kept going. Only service we ever had to do with them was spin the filters and fuel it up lol
As usual Josh, another great video. I am truly amazed at all the different types and brands that Bish’s carries. Is there anything that you do not 19:22 carry? Do you sell class A and Super C’s? I’ve never owned or camped in an RV before (only tent in my younger years). I’d like to rent first both a bumper pull and a class C a few times each to see if this is the lifestyle that I want to get into. Perhaps buy my first camper when I retire in less than 6 years. I’m under the understanding that only one of your stores offers a rental service, is that correct? If so, perhaps you could travel to that store and do a video on all the in’s and out’s and what to look for when renting? To me, the best way for the camper industry to get more people to buy and not make the multi-thousand dollar mistake of purchasing, would be to get people to rent first. If they like it then they would probably become buyers. Again, great job on the video Josh!
There are some things we don't handle, yes. But generally speaking we have all the bases covered and then some between all of our stores. We do have A's and Super C's. I just don't bump into many here. I do have a playlist of motorhomes that'll have a few if you'd like a look.
@@JoshtheRVNerd If one of your stores offers a renal program, perhaps visit with the person in charge and create a video to teach us the best way to rent and what to look for when renting. It would be something different and educational I believe.
I suppose that’s 100% up to you If that’s your plan, then I would recommend a trailer rather than a motorhome Spending a lot of money on the motorized end for something you’re not using
@JoshtheRVNerd yes that makes sense. I believe a 2nd hand fifth wheel set up and tied down might be the way to go my brother in law has a nice piece of land and did that he lives alone as do I and I was really impressed with it you know that's all Aman my age needs. I want to be comfortable and not break the bank I live on a fixed income. Thanks and keep up the good work my friend
Yeah a lot of jaycos are actually good for that. They include at least enough seat belts to meet their sleeping capacity if not more You may need to get into something slightly larger in size to fit everyone but several of their models will work
@@JoshtheRVNerd your the best ever in RV explanatory ins and outs. Deep dives where most won't go. Your ability to express the good and the bad is welcome. Keep up the good work.
