The brake, gearbox and clutch need a few hours of riding to get on shape, the same way suspension...the power map is for the right side. This bike is not ideal for walking in the Park on sundays, this is the right tool to real deal Hard enduro...require good fit to handle right. Amazing machine!
I'll be on the Sherco again this week and see if I can get the brakes working better. I'll try dragging them do the road a bit and get them nice and hot.
I've had a couple bikes where the brakes didn't seem to grab without excessive pressure on the lever / pedal, the pads were applying pressure but the grip acted like it was delayed and would drag a while before it would bite. I bled the systems both forward and reverse with no change. i took the bike out and dragged the brakes for a 100+ feet and ran a very high heat cycle a couple times, this seemed to help alot. It's like I had to "seat" the pads to the Rotors for some reason. Not sure why one bike is different to the next, maybe the composition of the rotor material?
That's the factory edition isn't it mate?, race version runs WP I thought Good video though, I'm thinking about getting a 2021 factory.. I ride a Beta 480 currently and a Beta 300 before that. Can't beat the 2 strokes in singles
Yes, factory edition comes with KYB, and for my goat trails it's hard to beat a two stroke. I'm really looking forward to putting this Sherco through it's paces once I get it dialed in as the motor is really sweet for this kind of riding!
Kyle's on a heavier four stroke and the trails he's on are way more fast and flowing than the goat paths I'm running. The owner of this bike had the suspension done by the shop he bought it from so I'm not really sure where the valving is at. by the end of the ride I was feeling better with it, but I still need to set the sag and find out what's in it for springs. I would also like to try it with my fav tires on I can compare apples to apples so to say.
@@zack_paris9616 either really, just pick the right one. for a beginner on a 2 stroke I would recommend something like the Beta Xtrainer and for 4 stroke maybe something like the wr250 or Honda CRF250f (not the mx version)
well obviously it has 1/3 more motor, but it's very smooth and controllable. I need to spend some time getting used to it because it's a completely different feel than the Beta. Right now I still love the Beta more because it suits the slow goat trails I like to ride but I need to spend some time on the Sherco and see how we gel. I can tell you it's a LOT heavier lifting onto the stand!
@@PrimalEnduro Does the sherco 300cc exist in 4 stroke? Also I would like to know if you have ever driven the 300TE husqvarna, if so which is the more manoeuvrable and the lightest of the 2 motorcycles in 2 stroke? And the difference in power, thank you
@@sabilycollection1910 Yes they do, in fact I have a recent video showing how much fun I did NOT have on it. In all fairness it was the rider's fault 100% and not the bike. I'm a 2 stroke guy. And yes I have this Sherco 300 2 stroke in the garage and just picked up at 2020 TX 300 so I will compare them back to back.
This was a friends bike I had for a short time. I did like it but was in the process of getting my TX300i setup. I've done 150hrs on the TX and looking for something new soon. Maybe I'll switch to the Sherco Next, or possibly a Reiju.
Would of been nice if the valving was left to stock for first impressions man. And the bike should of never left the dealer with the front brake this way, its a Brembo for God's sake so I put that on the dealer for not being on their game. I haven't had to fu*# with my suspension at all, not even a click. I'm at 30 hrs and all I've had to do is drop the needle 1 setting (6000 +). My pipe is smashed and I've put it through a rough 30 hrs. No complaints. Now at this point I'm gonna start playing with suspension settings but I have no need for any type of revalving, thats just nonsense.
I would have preferred trying the stock suspension, but again it's not my bike. the owner asked the dealer to do the suspension so it is what it is. I'm not saying it's bad by any means...just not stock. Where we ride it's mostly tight technical rocky goat trail. I've never had stock suspension on any bike that didn't need work for this kind of riding. If any manufacturer set up their suspension for this kind of riding the other 90% of their customers would be unhappy......As for the brakes, we'll get them sorted but I really don't think Brembo is all that. I've had at least 15 KTM's over the years and some where better than others but nothing compared to the nissin on my current Beta...not bad mind you but not as good as nissin. I'm really not concerned about these little details as all bikes need some sorting from new. The motor is sweet and it comes with KYB so it's a very good platform to start with for my kind of terrain!
@@PrimalEnduroI've been the most knitpicky when it comes to suspension with my other bikes (ktm, rm, kx, yz etc) but this just hasn't been the case for me out of the box with this bike. The front brake is absolutely flawless on mine. The map switch is convenient but I've already broken the left side which is no big (G2 carries complete throttle kit with separate starter and map switch). Other than that, the bike took little time to get used to. Like past ktm's I've had, the transmission took some time to break in after a few oil changes.
@@davidsciulli7549 different animals all together! Nothing is going to beat the 200 in the tight technical trail. Faster flowy stuff the Sherco could have an advantage. It's also a taller bike than the Beta which is not ideal in tech trails unless you are on the taller side. The motor felt FANTASTIC!
