Learning Static Balance in your garage in much harder than you think.
Trying AI narration for the first time, not too sure about it, so please let me know what you think?
Share your experiences and suggestions in the comments below! This was me trying for the first time and only training 20-30 minutes per night in my garage.
Huge Thanks to StuntexRU channel which has an awesome vidoe which helped me get going pretty quickly: • How to Balance on Moto...
From 5 seconds my first day to over 1 minute by day 5!

Static balance is a beautiful thing, easy to begin but hard to master. I have also watched all the videos during past years .. I used pile of tires on both sides so I could lean the front in full lock when needed but tried to stay out as long as possible. This has taken me to a point where I can stand and use phone with my hands or use static balance as rest position to prepare for bouncing or so. Also balancing sitting down position is good for riding when exhausted. One good practise is to try to do sit / stand 10 times without dab and if you dab try to make it only single dab and get your balance going again. Another good practise when simple balancing gets boring is to turn the front straight and every time when losing balance pull in the clutch and jump both legs off the bike - this should be the second nature when losing balance on the real situation. I try to do 30-60mins of balancing on a bike 5-6 times a week and some everyday 'standing on one foot doing ordinary stuff' kind of training. Especially during winters when it's too dark and too much snow to do any technical riding I just try to come up with all kind of challenges in the garage to keep it amusing. I try not to use stopwatch or count dabs too much as it just makes me nervous, I usually warm up by balancing two or three full songs from the radio and later might even try to dance on the bike with the music (I hate dancing in any other way) - or any other way that makes you have fun and relax .. and get those hips unlocked. Slow wheelies are natural part of balancing when possible to get out. Also any bicycle with hand brakes can be helpful and easy to approach. Later on bouncing the front, bouncing the back or jumping the whole bike .. lifting the front/back on the bikestand .. possibilities to create challenges are endless even in garage. I fully agree never being too late to begin, I started just before I turned 40 - now couple years later couldn't be happier I did.. Balancing will change your life. But be aware that like everything else there will be progress but also the days when you can't even stand on one foot when putting on your shoes.

Great ideas! Funny about the shoes. Some days I can't even put on my underwear without pinning one side to the floor...😂

I love your approach to learning, bit by bit, and your suggestions are all terrific. One of the things I found useful, at least in the very early days, was to deploy the kickstand and try to get use to keeping my body cantered, and you can just feel the kick-stand leave the ground...it is a real crutch, and not much useful for very long, but does help in those early days of just trying to get standing.

I started a bunch of videos like this too. We are still on our way( my girlfriend has been doing this too) but we both can balance now for much longer than when we started. It's evolving our riding too.

Awesome! The exercise itself is boring tedious and difficult but I can tell a difference already when I’m on the bike! It’s SO worth the effort!

I will wear myself out in my shop doing this. But I still haven't let all the air out either. But like Bob says! "Baby Steps" then I can say. I'm Sailing! I'm Sailing!! Great video. Thanks!!

Nice work, it’s definitely a challenge on the big bike on concrete. I practice a lot on the trials bike but it’s so much easier on that

Thanks bud! I've been racking up hours on my current Husky TPI. When covid hit and I started working from home I had more time to ride, but oddly enough less time for making content. I've been super busy at work and I'm just easing back into it now...it's been too long for sure. Thanks for sticking around!

Excelente video. Muy buenas ideas 👍🏻 Durante la cuarentena practiqué el balance estático, y conseguí mejorar mi nivel, aunque todavía falta mejorar un poco más. Saludos desde Argentina 🇦🇷

Please forgive the google translation! ¡Increíble! Durante la cuarentena, pudimos montar todos los días. ¡El invierno nos frena más que el Covid hasta ahora! ¡Me encantaría montar en tu país algún día!

I weigh 70kgs my bike 140kg when it veers one way I have no control. I'm practicing on the side stand, lifting off while standing and tapping the stand foot on the ground by just balancing off. But as soon as the bike falls to the right a tiny bit there's nothing I can do to balance it back. The big benefit so far is much more awareness on the bike and learning to mount/dismount on the pegs, using my bodyweight to keep the bike in place as I move onto it.
@PrimalEnduro
@PrimalEnduro Год назад
when the bike starts to fall, transfer your weight to the other side by either bowing your opposite knee out and moving you butt over the bike, (I do this while using the inside of my other knee to grab the bike and pull it with me) or by putting your straight leg out to the opposite side. When using the later technique pay careful attention to not move your upper body into the way the bike wants to fall. It's natural to want to move your body opposite of your outrigger leg for balance in normal life, but on the bike we want that leg to do the balance!

Great video. I'm going to agree that the AI audio is not ideal. Be yourself, as they say. It really helps when you make your audience aware of all the effort and failure that it takes to succeed. Well done!

how long did you practice for each session?
@PrimalEnduro
@PrimalEnduro 2 года назад
~20 - 30 minutes each day. I work from home these days, so sometimes I would just walk past the bike and give it a go for 5 minutes then come back to it later.
