Here’s a more detailed video on how I did the install. If you have any questions let me know. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hcXoTlhhZdc.html
I bought this product and was more then impressed with the way it performed, plenty of boom, plenty of space. Thumping hard and clean. Still sounds good in the back of a trunk of a small car.
Man awesome review. I can’t count how many videos I seen demoing this sub and they play 45 seconds of a track that’s a bunch of mids and highs, then when the “bass” starts its its drowned out. A bass track to show off the sub, straight and to the point. I love it. I’m actually thinking of getting the same sub for the same reasons you did. Thank you for uploading this
Don’t know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but you can disable the constant power to the cigarette lighter plug. Just take that fuse out and put it in the other spot for it… I think it’s right there up under it that doesn’t have anything there. At least that’s how it’s been on all my gm vehicles.
I would highly suggest using an Add-a-Fuse, instead of directly tapping into the block like you did. You can use appropriate sized fuses for the application. Running 50 amps through that thin remote wire is a fire hazard. It really only needs 2.5 or 5 amp fuse at most.
@@pmolitierno the whole point of sizing a fuse accordingly is to prevent high amperage to flow through. So, if for example that wire shorted on something it could potentially draw up to 50 amps before blowing the fuse. In that case, it would most likely catch on fire and damage the equipment
We found out today that some 2019 models have a bundle of radio wires that run along the passenger side floor panel. Simply cut into the black sleeve and tap into the (blue wire/black stripe) and the (solid white). These wires were twisted together on mine. Hope this helps someone.
@@josh_9266you hook them to speaker wires driver side has green and green black and passenger might have blue and blue black wire twisted but just buy a loc high low converter and wire it to that and then plug rcas into the loc
I see it hit harder. You need to change the title and put kicker trtp in it so the people can see this video when looking it up. Thanks man mine on its way
I just saw a video that shows moving that 50 amp fuse to left (where your blue wire is located) that makes the cig plug switched instead of constant power
My bad I see the lil lip on the box I should have looked but a budget bass guy did a 140db build with thousand watts and one twelve so you on the right track sorry bout that nice truck
Nice man, I have 2 12’s kenwood to a 600watt amp I have a 2015 Chevy Silverado crew cab so it’s the box under the rear seats. My amp is under my front passenger seat.
Hey man awesome video 🙌🙌 quick question what do you think it would sound better ? I have a 10inch lt7 right now on my jeep wrangler and I was thinking on buying the one you have in this video on a 12inch .. which one you think would sound better ?
I just ordered one of these, I’m a teenager who needs something that hits hard, something where I will feel the bass in my soul. Did I make the right purchase, or should I get something else. Please be honest.
I am using a factory stereo, it’s a newer car with great mids and tweets, I’m only worried about the boom. Will it thump, what’s your opinion on the base it produces, is it loud enough?
Good setup I’m doing same on my 2020 trail boss custom . 4 months ago u posted to someone use green wires not lime color. Then a month ago u posted to someone to use lime colors not green ones. Was wondering which ones are the right ones to use? Another question u just used left rear speaker wires to one set on the Loc then only use one rca jack to amp correct? Let me know thx.
It’s actually the dark green wire and the dark green wire with black stripe. , yes just use the left rear speaker. That was my mixup. Thanks for letting me know. I’ll correct it.

So how long did your speakers last . RMS is 500 watts and 1000 watts is peak . I fried my speakers running a 500 watt Rockville DB 12 this week . Called Crutchfield and they sent me another one and was told to turn my gain down on my amp .
Mine still is holding up after 3 years.I recently switched to an amp with a little more power . Alpine series S . But you definitely have to turn that gain down. My new amp puts out about 330 at 4 ohms
Question. Can I turn up the remote sub knob 3/4 instead of all the way up when setting the gain so that I have a bit of extra volume headroom in case the particular song is kind of low
@@diesel850 GM sells two Kicker subwoofer kits for my 2021 GMC truck. One is just a subwoofer ($700) and the other is a subwoofer with an additional amp ($1300) for the door speakers. Each kit will wire into GM (non Bose) radio. Do you have any opinions on the kits ?? Thanks
@diesel850 thanks for this video man, super helpful. How'd you get the audio signal to the amp? Did you tie in to the door speakers and low level line converter, or did you find pre amp sources?
Is that the kac-511, and do you have the Bose system in the truck that this is added to? Nice setup btw, just got a 2020 RST I’m looking to add some boom to.
great vid. been doing so much research as I dont know what to get and am limited on space. overall you happy with it? about to pull the trigger on the this box myself. thanks
Yes I’m very happy with the setup. I was the same way trying to figure out what box I wanted to go with too. Everyone wanted so much to build a box. This is definitely worth it
@@diesel850 thanks so much for gettin back to me, it is hard to pick something, watched your 2 vids and convinced myself this is the one, but wanted see what you thought. nice truck by the way
I know you only set up subs but if you or anyone can help me out about my 4 channel amp powering the 4 speakers and 1 sub. I've been having this random "alternator" whining noise. I've tried moving the bare metal ground around and still have the same results. I tapped the signal for the sub from the front speaker from the gray connector underneath the passenger dashboard . The front signal from the rear speakers because not only the front speaker signal has more volume but also front speaker signal amplify the door chimes. How do i get rid of this high pitch noise..? Thanks
I installed an amp the same way in my 2019 Silverado. When the stop/start feature is on and I pull up to a red light, as soon as I let go of the brake and the truck turns back on, the amp turns of real quick and the speaker makes a pop noise. Did you have anything like that??
I don’t have that issue. Where did you run your remote wire from? That could be the problem. I always turn my auto off every time I start my truck, it’s a habit. I can’t stand auto stop:start.
Got all my stuff installed and hooked up last week. Everything worked good for 2 days. The Rockford amp I got has clipping protection on it. There is a blue light when amp turns on. If it goes into protect for clipping it turns red. Now as soon as I turn truck on it goes right to red in protected mode and speakers don’t work for about 2 minutes or so and then come on and everything is fine. And every time for rest of day every time I start truck it’s fine. Only when it sits all night. Any ideas. Thx I have a 2020 custom crew cab trail boss.
@@jimprovencher6031 yes. In some cases having power to your LOC can cause your protect light to come on. Also check your connections on the amp and make sure there’s no copper touching other connections
Hey so did you tap into the door speakers directly? or did you have to use a LOC? I have a 2020 Chevy 2500 that im doing this on, and i cannot figure out how to get the audio signal to the amp. I tapped into the rear door speakers with a 2 channel LOC, but i cant get it working right.
Along side the drivers side door trim, there’s a bundle of wires. Use the solid lime green and lime green with a black line. Don’t get it mixed up with the dark green. Also there’s plenty of room under the drivers seat to hide the LOC
I own a 2019 silverado and putting in a self powered sub box and was wondering what color wires goes to the rear driver door speaker? Thinking about tapping into that like you did. Thanks man♂️
I used a LOC from the passenger side rear speaker. Dark green wire and dark green wire with black stripe . Don’t get it mixed up with the lime green wires
diesel850 one last question did you connect you LOC left and right wires to only your rear left speaker? Or you’re getting signal from rear left and rear right?
Please flip the sub over so it ain't face down unless there's something I missed nothing good can come from putting more resistance forcefully against you sub
did you access the rear door speaker through the wiring harness in the running board on the floor or did you remove the panel running next to the driver seat belt?
Thanks for the reply man! appreciate it. I just attempted this on a 2019 lt crew cab pulled the signal from the harness and ran a the wire back to the loc but no power on the loc so i connected the power and ground and it put the amp in protect mode i have no idea what went wrong
Which wires did you hook up to get sound? I used the spot on the passenger side fuse box for the remote wire, and I have the amp/subwoofer combo ground, 12v and remote switch mounted under my steering wheel to turn up/down. But I don't know which wires to use for actual sound. Are there two plugs behind the radio that I can simply plug in to both the sub/amp and radio? Or are these new trucks not like that? I don't want to go through all the trouble of removing the head unit if they aren't there. Can you please help?
I used the rear drivers side door speaker . It’s a lime green wire with a black line and the solid lime green wire. Don’t get it confused with the dark green wires

@@jitbass. to each is own bro. If that was the case, why would the kicker logo be upright when the subs are facing down. Thanks for watching. My truck, my rules 💯
From the driver side floor panel. Take the trim up and use the Dark green with black line and solid dark green, don’t get it mixed up with the limes green .
aaron Jay yes it’s the one that run under the hall. I used the rear driver side speaker. They all have the same amount of wattage going to the speakers
@@diesel850I think he speak about some stuff that enter in resonnance (plastic cover somewhere inside the car car that produce the humming at 3:49) . I had some installation like this, and without soundproofing car it's impossible to solve without removing those frequency with a selective EQ
