I’ve seen many of these cars in the road, including the Hatchback. They look really nice in person. No matter what car reviewers say, Corollas will sell like hot cakes. It’s all about the reputation that Toyota has done for over 50 years. My sister is going to buy one next month. Me and my family are loyal Toyota owners
As old man, it is kind of strange to see such a well-equipped Toyota Corolla. Why, back in my day a passenger seat was optional on a Corolla. Now get off my lawn.
The first car I bought was a 1993 Corolla with a beautiful black, high gloss metallic paint. It cost me $14,000 and 8 years and 135,000 miles later I sold it for $6,000. Yesterday we sold a 2014 BMW 535i with 35,000 miles. It cost new $78,000 and was sold to a used car dealer for $18,000. If you are going to spend money, do it wisely.
I love the Corollas. I'm on my second Corolla and getting ready to get my 3rd Corolla in 1-2 weeks. My first Corolla had over 350,000 miles on it before I traded it in. So far, they have always been very dependable. Very very any trouble at all.
I just bought a Corolla SE 2020 and am very happy about it. Your review is amazing, and you are a cool and very charming guy. I could not tear myself away from watching your video and enjoyed it a lot. Thank you very much and God bless you.
I can say the XSE model that Micah is test driving is super comfy and actually fun to drive-Road noise isnt all that terrible and not enough to stir me away from buying
The Toyota Corolla the most reliable car . Toyota sold over 1 million of these in 2017. People buy them cause they're reliable . That's why they're so popular .
@@abdelalsweiti9872 believe it . It's worldwide sales though . They buy Toyota cause they're reliable. Looks like the SUV craze didn't effect Toyota. It only effected GM and Ford cause they make grade a crap.
@@thesisko4031 yup taxi drivers need a car thats, reliable and good on gas. Also a car that doesn't break down . So that s why the taxi drivers drive Camry . Toyota maybe a common car but , it's that way because they're reliable.
I have never been a Corolla fan, but I like this. I mean like it enough to buy one. It looks to be a relatively fun car that doesn't look stupid and will last for years. Oh, my commute is pretty nice actually - Monterey city streets with only a tiny bit of freeway driving on Hwy 1. Pretty scenic and fairly low pressure. Only takes 15 - 20 minutes.
Dude. Your reviews are the BOMB. I love how you insert an incredibly dry sense of humor while giving us the facts at the same time. Best channel!!! By the way, I think I'm gonna buy one of these bad boys for my bad dad self.
Just got the 2020 SE. Way more snappy than even a 2020Le. More sportier for sure. Love it. Yes, Corollas are way popular down here in FL. See them everywhere. The suspension and tires make it handle nicely.
Just got a 2020 LE and I’m loving it so far, went from a Hyundai Elantra, and it’s a lot better than the Hyundai, the CVT is actually responsive, and 1.8 still has enough go to get out of its own way, it also handles super well.
I decided on the new 2021 Corolla Hybrid and I’m loving it! I’m 50 and always drove VW. I had enough headaches from VW and decided to go with family members and friends telling me, get a Toyota already!! Very Pleased
The Corolla is what its buyers want it to be. Safe, economical, reliable, and easy to drive. While I prefer something with a little more personality, hundreds of thousands of people will love this. BTW, Micah, you bulge in all the right places. :)
Great review 👍. My Mom leased her 4th Corolla yesterday. She got a SE in a wild but nice blue. She said this is no comparison to the previous 16 SE. She loves how easy it steer's! Quite and takes road imperfections easier. Thanks Micah!
Muzio, you're a goofball. Thanks for the 710 and 5 commute memories.... I may need to call my therapist for an appointment. Oh, and the bizarre sound effects. 😉😂😆
That’s just California drivers in general most of them are aggressive and don’t drive defensively. I see a lot of hyper-speeding in which they deserve more than just a citation . Jail time and license suspension in that order.
I said this 1000x... I enjoy watching how you do reviews. It is to the point. You have a personality👍🏾👍🏾. You don't spend time explaining the painting process(AoA)😂. You ain't whinny (RLR)😂. Anyways we live In world where a corolla has independent suspension and a Mazda does not. WOW!
Corollas are like cockroaches, they're everywhere. Love my 2012 LE with 112,000 miles. Never a single problem and will run until at least 300,000. One day when I'm a baller, I'll get this new model.
New to your personal channel and I am surprised by your quality of production and how entertaining your videos are. This channel is going to get be the next big car channel very very soon!
Just bought a 2021 Corolla SE. The value on my optima lx went up so I traded it. I personally love the new Corolla!! I thinks a fine looker and it’s great as a drive to work car.
Hey MIcah, I have to hand it to you :)) Multi tasking like a Boss! Using your Commute time to entertain. inform, and hopefully gain viewers. I thought of you yesterday when we were purchasing A Brand New Hyundai Santa Fe’ SEL PLUS in the Red with Beige and black interior. Even though I researched this car intensively I still had a few surprises. We bought it in another State over an hour a way gave us a good feel for it on the way back home. Admittedly we didn’t get much off the price but 0% Interest for 72 months $440 a month. Traded a 2017 Santa Fe Base AWD. That was $350 a month. I love the Lane keep, ACC and true BLind Spot and all the sensors. The seats are Very comfortable and Car PLay guided us back better than Android Auto did to get to Honda of Keene, NH. Can’t beat the price Cheaper then any compact SUV the SEL PLus and not missing much. Sunroof, Vented seats and heads up display, Leather, . they save for the $10K more Ultimate. Still has heated seats and this dealship has a lifetime warrantee that I am sure we paid for some how. I was holding off for Palisade, or Telluride. but I should wait a model year. Still loving my 2017 Impala in Crystal Red Tint Coat. Thanks for waking up during the commute I can always tell your just woke up face hehe.
Bought a certified 2020 Corolla SE, 6 spd manual a couple of months ago. This car is so much fun to drive. My third Corolla. I have two now, but I am in Iowa, I just put my newest Corolla in storage. Sits too low for me to winter drive. Driving the 🌮.
I chose to pay an extra $400 a month so my commute was 8 miles and 15 minutes instead of over an hour each way.. so I wake up and get home at a reasonable time.. and save on fuel, wear and tear and mileage on my car...
My mom had a Prius and got into a accident so we had a Corolla for a rental and i absolutely loved it it was a 2022 she bought a 2011 Camry with 60,000 miles
I used to live in L.A. long time ago. The traffic is worse in the Toronto area, than it was in L.A. Over 9 million people and only 2-lane highways.....often down to one lane due to continuous construction going on everywhere.
Help me decide, how much do I want the new Dynamic Force engine? Debating stepping up to the SE from the L, was a bit bummed to learn that everything below the SE has the old 1.8L engine and no first launch gear, etc, that come with the new 2.0
If it were me, I'd step up to the SE. It's about $2,400 pricier than the L but on a monthly basis that's only about $50/payment. The SE is more efficient and more powerful thanks to the 2.0 but it's also a generally nicer car than the L trim (alloy wheels, auto A/C, 60/40 split rear seat, etc). When you eventually sell, it'll be much easier to offload the more desirable SE than the comparatively sparse L trim.
We call this the Corolla Altis in Southeast Asia. When it was launched in China last year, it's available in two trims: the 'Prestige' and the 'Sporty' which is the one showed here. But it seems the 'Prestige' trim will be the one offered exclusively in SE Asia as it was already launched in Taiwan. That launch gear is an interesting new feature though.
I just bought one of then a 2020 Toyota Corolla SE so your review help me to decide me but before I had have one 2009 toyota corolla type S so me loved is old for this vehicule, greeting from Dominican Republic.
My commute has a lot of those BMW moves going on.. i enjoyed the review. This is my dream car right now. Just waiting for my champagne gold 06 Corolla to die if it ever does.
Android Auto is coming Fall of 2020-Most models are suppose to support it and previous models "may" get an software update but I believe the 2019 Camry will get it but not the redesign model of 2018
30 minute commute in Des Moines Iowa. 20 miles so yeah not LA. but my exit is being redone and our current temporary one has mega potholes :(. Makes my Prius sad
hello, do you happen to know if I would be able to switch out the 2018 Toyota camry speedometer with one of the XSE trim? I'm not a big fan of the stand small screen on the SE? Any responses are appreciated! thank you!
To make this car a truly top-of-the-line Corolla, they need to add an auto-dimming rear view mirror, and make the seats all Softex, without the cloth inserts. Rear cross-traffic alert would be nice as well. AND, they need to offer Android Auto on ALL their vehicles!
I like my daily commute; mainly highway driving with very little traffic. I definitely can't complain. On the subject of complaining though: I want to respond to your comment, that I figured complaining isn't all bad because, while someone always has it harder, we're all relative and have different limits. I try to never complain, just as a personal thing, but I wish I could be as positive as you are in response to what life throws at you.
I actually had a really cool adventure in a rented 2017 Corolla, I drove all through the mountains in Alberta and British Columbia on a trip a couple years ago, it wasn’t fun to drive by any means and I would’ve preferred a car with Apple CarPlay for navigation purposes, but it was a pretty solid car for many many hour drives.
Depends on the distance u have to drive daily. Mazda 3 is sexier though, i guess it depends on if u want a long term low maintence wife or a hottie u can ride hard.
@@thesisko4031 The question is, the Mazda 3 power train and engine have already been out for 6 years and been proven. Why would you take a chance on a new design for a 2019 Corolla first year?
'Going down the CVT rabbit hole' may be appropriate. The 'First Gear Launch CVT' used in the 2019 CVT Hatchback and 2020 CVT SE and XSE sedans is said to be made by JATCO, the (Nissan subsidiary?) company that manufactured many or most of the Nissan CVTs that are reputed to have been very unreliable. Can anyone confirm who manufactures the CVTs used in the 2020 Corolla L, LE and XLE?
I like cvts. They're always on boil, even tho the sounds don't match up to pedal position as automatics do. It takes about a day to get used to the difference.
It behave like a CVT but also can pretend to be a slushbox in manual mode. What you heard in this video is the car shifting from the first real gear to the CVT not the CVT fake shifting.
Cracks me up how people complain that gloss black plastic shows finger smudges, when the whole car is filthy inside and out, with crap all over the floor too. Lol
Hey, Micah, if you were me would you keep your 2017 VW Jetta S or get a 2020 Corolla SE? I was also looking into a Honda Civic Sport Or EX. Great review btw!
