22x12 with 35’s on a 4” lift no rubbing! Rides amazingly smooth. The lift kit gave it a rake so I decided to drop an inch block in the back. When it settles it will level out just right.
Nice, was looking at a 7" lift for my 21 TB, but this setup looks so much better with 35s....man that's a good looking truck. It's taken me a month to look different from every other summit white one in my city. I did however get the multi flex and have yet to see another trail boss with one here.
Got the same truck 4 months ago just got the BDS 4 inch kit with fox 2.5 coilovers 22×12 arkon Roosevelt's same tires and power steps it goes to the shop Thursday
I just ordered a BDS kit for my trail boss. I know you no longer have this truck, but do you remember the offset? I’m thinking of going with a 20x12 -44.
I had a 2014 Sierra with the 5.3 and I put on a 6" BDS lift. It was pretty much brand new when I did it. It had the 6 speed trans. I had 35" tires on 20" Wheels. I loved the look but the fuel mileage dropped to 11 city 16 highway. It also felt way underpowered. I love the look but will never lift another 1/2 ton. Just something to ponder if someone wants to lift their vehicle.
I had a 7" lift on my 2015 silverado on 22x12's on 35's with -44 offset. I got the i3 Diablo Tuner. Took all that sluggish feeling away and brought my mileage back to 18 from 13mpg
Love the truck and it looks amazing. Just got the refreshed 2022 Trail Boss with the 6.2 today and it’s awesome but stock tires are definitely too small.
U got the same the exactly set up, same rims, and I change the atturo tires with toyo open country RT much better now … check my channel please and subscribe ✌️
Can you DM on IG@ 6.Nastytrailboss Trying to figure out what all needs to be trimmed. Im on 4in BDS , 12 wides and 35s now and rub bad so trying to fix it ASAP. Thanks.
I have the exact same truck. I went with the Rough Country 4" Trail Boss specific lift kit and installed 22" Fuel Assault rims with Fuel off road tires 35". Truck runs smooth, and I get compliments every single place I go in the truck.
Rims are Ballisitc Rage 22x12. You will need hub rings so they fit flush mount on the hub. Google and find the best deal. I got them from custom offset website.
Hey I've seen other lift kits with disclaimer not to use 4wd with lift. Have you had any issue with 4 hi or 4 lo. I'm thinking of getting the exact setup
It looks great with the added height and wheel / tire combo. Awesome truck. ..... I just got my 2020 trail boss LT last week in the same color. Hard decision between black and shadow grey. Love my trail boss....
Stephen Gauche thank you. I like black but it’s so hard to keep clean. I thought I was done with mods but I think I need a bit more height to bring the proportion right (wheel/tire/fender gap) so I’m taking the lift off and adding a McGaughy’s 7-10” adjustable lift. Stay tuned for that video. Prob two weeks.
Phugma it will be a McGaughy’s 7-10” adjustable lift. I’m waiting for the lift to arrive then I’ll have the shop install it. I’ll then will make a detailed video comparing all lifts/leveling kits, mpg, performance, ride, etc. stay tuned. Be about 3 weeks.
Awesome, thanks. Both lift are nice. Actually I like the Rough Country the best. I like the stance. The other lifts, still have the rake angle (lower in the front)
Hi Ezio - fantastic video - im in Australia - and want to build that EXACT truck! howecer we have to have wheels inside the guard/flares - would the rough country or similar flares go out far enough? do you have any contacts that i could contact to buy the suspension / rims & tyres? Did you colour code the front and rear bar/ paint it? they look horrid chrome - thankyou very much if you reply....
Nice! Hell if I was in Australia, I would get a smaller truck for some over landing. But this is a nice truck. The rough country flares will keep your wheels inside. Or just get a wheel with less offset. Look up trail boss rough country lift and you’ll see how nice their set up is. The trail boss comes with color matched bumpers and black grill. Thank you.
Are your tires 325-50 R22 or 35 12.5 R22. I bought the same setup ballistic rage 22x12 -50 and a Fabtech 6 inch lift for my truck. I have a 2021 white 3.0 RST I am installing everything on in a couple months but have not purchased the tires yet. Going the nitto ridge grappler though for sure.
Nice! Now, you need to tuck those big tires in with aftermarket wheel arch fenders. Rough Country makes nice ones that would look great on your rig. By the way, I took that ugly rake out of my 2015 Silverado 2500HD and my 2017 Colorado ZR2.
I also have a trailboss and want to lift it but every lift kit I look at says that after you install the kit you can’t use 4wd without running the risk of breaking something. Is this true and what kit should I get?
I think this looks great and want to do the same but now I see you have videos of a 9” FTS lift and say that you wish you did that to start with. What was wrong with this setup in the video that made you change to the 9”? It’s my everyday driver and I do work downtown and park in a parking garage. I do have access to an outside lot if I decided on the 9” but then I’d be parking outside so it would really have to be worth it.
Thank you. Well, most chevys have the 4” lift and I just liked the look of the 9”. Both tan good. I did not like the rake however on the 4”. I think rough country’s lift gives it a more leveled stance. 9” just looked bad ass, but yes, no parking garages. Did you see the video with the 9”?
Also did the nitto fix the shake because I’m having the same problem with my atturo tires but I feel like they need to hand me back some money for there bullshit tires
@@eziocomparini7068 I need to start selling drugs😆 This is my first new vehicle. In hindsight, I should of bought all my upgrades before I got my truck. Im one of the idiots paying 850$ a month, and my monthly income is like 2200🤣.
I can’t remember the capacity. I think 24 gallons. Mpg is same as stock now that I did the intake mods and muffler delete. See my other videos for info in these.
Check out my other videos that show how to increase mpg. After these mods, I was getting the same as I did when I first bought it, even with the 9” lift. I explain every mpg mod and they’re very easy.
So I’ve been trying to understand. I have a 2020 6.2 Trail Boss and want to fit 295/70/18. I was thinking a 1.75-2” level kit. With a 4” Level kit, since the trail boss is already lifted by 2”, is the 4” level kit only really adding another 2”?
So a 4” lift is 4” more than stock for the trail boss, which it is a 6” for a non trail boss. The kits are basically the same for trail boss to non trail boss. Make sense? A 6” lift for a non trail boss lifts the trail boss 4” as we sit 2” higher as is.
The Trail Boss and GMC AT4 come with a 2” suspension lift. It’s a suspension package that GM offers for its trucks. You can technically create a LTZ Texas edition (badging) Trail Boss, if you’re buying a new truck. You can’t “add” a 4” suspension lift on top of a 2” suspension lift to get a 6” lift. You’d have to buy a 6” lift. I’ve owned several Chevy trucks and you can pretty much put any package you want on the trucks (if buying new). The Texas edition for example just comes with the LTZ convenience package, the safety I package, 20” chrome wheels, and it says Texas edition. Trail boss has z71 off road package, a 2” front lift, and it says trail boss. I just bought a 2019 LTZ Texas Edition 4x4 with a 6” lift the dealership put on. I could pay them to put Trail Boss on the truck just bc it looks cool. But any good lift is gonna have better shocks than Rancho that come w z71 and every lift comes with skid plates, so it really depends on what badging you want man. Definitely hope I don’t sound rude just trying to help.
@@floridas_own well that’s ok. 20x10 are just fine. It’s all about the proportionate look you’re giving the truck. For instance, I had more compliments when the truck was just leveled with the 20x10 than any other time. I too now have a Ram night edition completely stock and I’m happy with it as is.
Fabtech kit are essentially the same thing for the trail boss and non Trailboss. The Trailboss Lot has different front strut brackets as the Trailboss comes lifted 2” from factory. Call them directly if you’re gonna order.
From stock to this what’s the overall handling change? Is it much louder? I love my ride right now and don’t want to sacrifice the stable feel it has. But i want the look you have too!!
Poway Imports rides the same and not loud at all. Nothing to make it louder other than adding mud terrain tires. See my new video with a 9” lift and truck rides the same. Now, if you’re driving fast they curves, that will be affected however as Center if gravity has increased.
Exactly. The 2” lift is taken off the truck and the 9” lift is installed, the same way it is installed in a non Trailboss model. So this kit raises the Silverado 9” from factory. 7” for the Trailboss as from factory we already have a 2” installed. Make sense? In other words a non Trailboss and a Trailboss with the FTS lift, they would sit at the same height.
What MPG did you get with this setup? I have a 2021 in the same color and thinking about going 4" BDS with 35/12.5/22 also. Stock i only get 14 mpg around my house.
We’ll stock I got 13 city and 15 highway. I’ve since did a 9” lift. Check out the video and mpg stayed the same. I added an air aid unrestricted intake tube, K&N drop in filter and a muffler delete. Man!!! 16 city and 21hwy at 70mph not to mention the power difference. It is 100% noticeable. No lie. I did the same mods in a Ram Hemi and lost bottom end power. Our trucks? Best performance mods. Go big with Mcgaughys of FTS. YOU won’t regret it. Skip the 4” lift.
@@eziocomparini7068 I went with the BDS 6inch, would have would to go with the 9 but was worried about it fitting in my garage. What intake tube did you install?
David Holzman hi, is the shadow grey and I like the truck very much. I like all trucks tho. Had a Ram which I liked a lot too. They’re all good. Go with the best looking truck and best deal. Then lift it and add some bigger tires and or wheels. 👍
Ethan Noel thanks! There’s no logic behind it. LOL don’t go off road in the truck. It’s a daily driven truck. Check out my other videos. Jeep JL Rubicon was good off road. These trucks are too big for off-road anyways. A Tacoma would be a better choice.
It still rubbed a bit with the 4” (total 6” lift) without trimming. Trimming is a must. Slight, but has to be done. With the 9” lift I have now, now rubbing without trimming. Mine was already trimmed from before but if you’re going straight to a 9” lift, no trimming required.
pipedesigner no sir. Not a millionaire. Truck wasn’t that expensive. I lived on a police officers salary for 22 years. One thing I can tell you. If you have dreams, these are signs of your future. If you can see it in your mind, you can touch it with your hands. Remember that.
