This has to absolutely be one of the top 5 most enjoyable deer hunting videos ever posted on RU-vid. Thank you for sharing that wonderful experience with us! Great camera work too. 👏
Holy cow!! I've been hunting Wisconsin since 1975 never missed an opening day and I have never once seen anything like that. You saw more bucks @ one time then I see in 3 years of rifle hunting. You had more deer around you @ one time than I saw in the entire gun season. Absolutely incredible and great video. Thank you.
I have gone a few years in a row in that same stand without seeing a buck. One of the doe that came through was hot, of the 12 deer that were in the group, all 5 bucks went where she did, a few of the other doe broke off and went another direction. There was plenty of shooting from the neighbors a few minutes later.
This is up close and personal! Your scent blocking method (perhaps a favorable wind) is impeccable. Outstanding hunt to say in the least! High quality upload!!!
Nice video. It's fun to be close to so many deer at once. That's the thrill that's hard to explain to non hunters. Thanks for posting. I subbed for sure.
Thanks for sharing with us . That’s a good morning in the woods for a good hunter . I’m just as content watching and learning from them as I am putting one in the freezer .
Awesome Video. Thanks so much for sharing. I should be in the woods right now, but I have my back all tore up. May end up missing the entire season. Your video made my day!!!
This video just popped up on my u tube. What a fantastic hunt you had. It takes a lot of restraint Not to shoot the big buck and holding out for a giant. Thanks for taking us along!
I leave my hunting clothing outside (benefit of living in the country) after I was it in scent away, never wear my hunting clothing in my vehicle (keep my hunting clothing in a sealed Remington tote), and spray down after I get dressed. I also play the wind, and try to never breathe out of my mouth if deer are in the area. During bow hunting, I even bring an apple or two and take a bite to mask my breathe when deer are in the area.
My husband hunting in Jackson county for close to 25 years I went with him a couple of times. We stayed at the Orange Moose hotel in Black River Falls and hunted some private land close to Hixton
that was a awesome video!!! some great footage. at one pt i thought the doe was going to come in the blind with ya. thanks for sharing it with us. new subscriber
Awesome encounter for sure! I was in a pod on the ground once....setup for turkey hunting really....and a doe literally stuck her head in there. It was crazy! She didn’t spook until she walked around down wind of me then jumped straight in the air! Fun times!
Thanks! They seemed to just keep coming. This was the second day of our season, and there weren't nearly as many hunters near me as there was opening day, probably too hungover, it is Wisconsin after all.
Nice !!!!!! I subscribed because you were too in control or left your gun back in the Truck. 🤣 Anything above a 5 point total I’m taking. Biggest one I ever got was a 5 point buck It’s been 10 years now. This year should be my year. I just have to put the time in
I hunt in Jackson Co. too. We practice a hybrid model of Quality Deer Mgmt. (No small bucks harvested and adult does only. But we'll shoot a wounded deer.) Is that what you do on your property? We harvest the adult does and, if there's a buck, we have to mount it. Great footage. I am that much more excited for hunting this year as we've made some land improvements. ;)
Darren, I shot a really nice buck bow hunting, so I wasn't going to shoot a buck during gun season unless it was as big or bigger than my bow buck. I didn't take a doe at that time either, as I was holding out in hopes of a monster eight we had on camera. I had the T zone hunt for a doe anyway, which is when I took one. I'm not one to shoot more deer than I need, so it was just my bow buck and T zone deer this year. We do practice QDM, those monster bucks really get the blood pumping!
Hunting, but I shot a huge 8 bow hunting, so I had to see a bigger one if I was going to shoot it. Was waiting on a big ten we have on camera, but never saw him.
Wow great area your hunting there. That's where the big ones are. As long as you don't take the little ones the big ones will show up. I like and subscribe.
Sure was. Honestly, I've shot one deer with my gun in the last ten years, it's more about tradition for me. I usually shoot one with my bow, and I'm not one to take more than I need. I take my nephew each year, and I was really hoping he'd see that bigger buck.
@@arthurtmorgan4211 no, I shot a big buck with my bow prior to that (a lot bigger than every one in the video), so I was after one we had on camera even bigger, it was only the second day. I shot a doe later in the season though.
There are parts of Wisconsin where this isn't many deer. But I do know guys a few properties away who were seeing over 20 deer a day. Northern Wisconsin isn't what it used to be, because of the wolves.
I did have two open though. Whenever I see/hear deer coming (whether I'm gun hunting or bow), I always have a gator on, never ever breath through my mouth, and don't move unless I'm 100% certain I won't get busted. I also practice scent Management by showering in scent free, always keeping my clothes outside in a sealed tote, and of course on top of that, still play the wind (unless I'm in a blind like this, normally I'm 30 ft up).
