Lighting literature looks amazing, would you do a flip through? Also I love your options! You always show us NEW options not the se things you see all other do. Thanks!
Love your choices for the new school year. I can’t believe how much thought and research goes into finding the right curriculum for your little ones. Thanks for sharing. Love watching them 🤗❤️
I was torn between the history curriculum you picked and River of Voices from Blossom and Root. Ended up picking ROV. I am really excited to get started in the fall. So, many great choices!
Love seeing all th cirriculum you use. Don't feel like you have to hurry. I'll watch long videos when your talking about cirriculum. Lol thanks for sharing
Great video! Thank you so much! Here's what we're using for 5th grade: Language Arts--Grammar Galaxy, misc. handwriting workbooks, Spectrum Spelling, Oak Meadow books that go with Ancient History, and for writing, we just do our own thing Math--Singapore Primary Mathematics U.S. Edition Social Studies--Curiosity Chronicles Snapshots of Ancient History, supplemented with Oak Meadow Ancient History, and this includes some good writing assignments Science--Mr. Q Chemistry and Mystery Science Art--Artistic Pursuits Music--Violin The grade levels we're using range from 3rd-6th grade. Best wishes and thanks again!
I d” recommend 4H yes I loved it back in high school in my homeschooling days! It’s free faith neutral . & Learning Allie is good too for dyslexia students. I wish I had known about it back when I was homeschooled. They have books you listen to audio books!
Thank you for sharing this! We are going to start Sequential Spelling next year, it was wonderful to hear your experience with it thus far. You gave me a lot to consider as well:)
My boys are 9.5 and 11 and they do their work together too. Makes it easier for me to have them doing the same level work, and because we were so laid back and didn't use any curriculum until when my oldest would have been in 4th grade they've ended up being at pretty much the same grade level work wise.
I love when you do videos like this. Can you show a little more on how you’ll be using the spelling program? I have it but have not figured out how to implement it
My biggest regret is not having a timeline with Oh Freedom. Love the president journal! We are still working on Oh Freedom. Thanks for the recommendation last fall! Do you know what you plan to follow up with for history? I'm looking at Wolrd History thru Build Your Own Library. Also loving PDF format. You've got me hooked on comb-binding. I love having just one chapter at a time for Math Mammoth. Have you used Math Mammoth how do they compare to Teaching Text Books? Also curious how Lighting Literature compares to BYOL?
For my timeline I’m just using coloring pages from the Dover history coloring books and by sunflower education.net they have this great American timeline book it’s huge it’s two of them are use the pages from that as well as far as math mammoth my daughter is the only one that has ever used it. from what I’ve seen though I feel like teaching textbooks is a little behind but either way my boys enjoy it and I don’t have to teach anything so I like it and I would say that the main difference between lightning literature and build your own library is that lightning literature is not an all in one curriculums it basically just teaches grammar and composition where is far as I know build your own library has history science built into it
I would love to see a flip through of the Oh Freedom curriculum and how you use it. Also for the Lightning Literature, where is the best place to buy the required read aloud books that go with it?
I had done a flip through and then I found out the Author of Oh Freedom doesn’t like to share the book list for some reason,, FYI it’s very similar to Blossom and Root’s A River of Voices... I will try and film somethingAs to how are use it in some of the resources I use I’ll try to figure that out ,,, also I buy most of my books used to thriftbooks . Com
I was looking for a literature base curriculum, for my first and second graders, and found Lightning Literature and Hardcourt Trophies to be very alike , after seeing ur videos decided to go with Hardcourt Trophies. Now I see u using both😆 just want ur opinion, don’t u find it very similar, I was thinking to just grab the Lightning Literature book list and use it for read aloud , without the teacher book or student workbooks, or r those really worth getting as well? What r ur thoughts on this since u used both curriculum? We already doing the Harcourt Trophies as I mentioned, the good and the beautiful curriculum as well, and some other workbooks for grammar, phonetics and all that goodies 😉 do u think adding the Lightning Literature with workbooks and all will be too much. And if u had to choose between this 2 curriculum which one do u prefer Hardcourt Trophies or Lightning Literature?
Great video! I love that you explain how these choices are tailored to each student. I have been looking for something like Lightening Literature. Did you order the Teachers Guide/do you think its necessary? LOL I have completely changed some of my choices for next year because of your video!
As far as lightning literature the teacher guide gives you comprehension questions discussion questions as far as the stories it also gives you the answers to the workbook a PDF version is pretty inexpensive special you’re planning on using it with multiple students
New to homeschooling. Someone turned me on to your channel. My soon to be 4th grade boy is struggling with reading comprehension and he hates writing. Any tips for curriculum?
The teachers edition of Lightning literature has comprehension questions you can ask ,, It mainly focuses on the grammar mechanics and composition at the end of each book it does give you pages so your student can write about the book as far as what it was about how they liked it..
I just watched World's Most Awesome Invertebrates on PBS, you should check it out (if you haven't already), it'll compliment your evolution science studies (and animal study). I'd like to see a walk thru the evolution workbook you created.:)
