Nice! I have 2021 TRD Pro arriving next week. Can't wait. It also comes with the Predator-Tube Steps. I will keep them until I bend them then go for some normal rock rails.

Ali G I just can't get on board with the Lime Green (Lime Rush). To each their own for sure, but it is not for me. Now if you did happen to get your hands on one and you can just flip it for a cool 10-20k right now. LOL Thank you for watching.

Love when people complain that it's old. Classic cars are old, but damn if they don't operate great. Age breeds refinement with Toyota. I like to keep my vehicle for a minimum of 10 years and current Jeep I've had about 14 years and it's a 2003. 19 years old. I haven't personally owned a Toyota, but everyone my other family members have owned has lasted and lasted with basic maintenance. So now that I'm looking at getting rid of the problem filled 2003 Jeep I'm looking a 4Runner. Drove a 2019 at the dealer the other day after driving a 2021 Highlander and knew I liked it. It drove more like my Jeep even though it's a Grand Cherokee with 4WD all the time an a uni-body instead of the 4Runner's body on frame. The Highlander felt like a van....yeah that was a pass. Sure, it gets better tech features on its lower trims, but I appreciate the 4Runner more. So it's nice to see into a 2021 TRD Pro. Leaning toward a Pro for the extra adds and because I'm no mechanic, but want to get off road more. And I'm looking to buy single owner used vs brand new. 2022...not a good year to buy new unless you ordered a while back. Thanks for the great video! Btw just call it what it is...fake leather. Vegan BS is BS and stupid.

Thanks for the video! How do you feel the Softex will be in the heat? I'm looking at picking up either a TRD OR or TRD ORP. The seats are one of the main deciding factors. Thanks!

We have had 3 different Toyota Vehicles over the years with the black softex seats and I would say they are slightly cooler in direct sun than the same color leather. These are not cooled so that is a downside, but with that you gain more longevity. If you live in a sunny climate like I do window film with a good UV rating is a must for any leather or leather like interior. You can get a clear film with a 90% UV rating which will work in California.

How’s living with the exhaust drone? That’s really the only thing holding me back from trading my ORP for one. Did you put tint on the windows?

It had tint from the dealership. We don’t notice a drone at all. It’s just part of the fun of driving it. I also put loud exhaust on big v8s too so I like that, however the 4runner is not loud compared to any of those.

I am new to the TRD PRO. Just curious are the brakes a bit sensitive. I find my nosediving the 4Runner quite often.

Hey there Santiago, I would say they are easily pressed lol. The way the 4Runner suspension is setup you will have a little nosediving. The TRD Pro has more travel and is a bit on the softer side of the compression so you will notice it a bit more. Nothing to worry about. I find it kind of fun.

This might be a dumb question but for the Nitto Terra Grapplers - do you know what size they are? or have a link to the ones that came on your TRD Pro. You don't need spacers or anything to put those on a 5th gen TRD Off Road Premium do you?

You can get those fox shocks for Off Road! I got a set from my friends 2021 Pro, he went Kings I'm just waiting on Eibach lift springs then I can install everything in my 2020 ORP.

You sure can. How are you liking your Off Road Premium? With me I love the ride of the TRD Pro suspension and the wheel, tire, and rack setup puts it over the top for me. I would end up spending more to change my off-road into a pro if it were me so I have to go this route.

The white with the black is a great contrast. Our Sequoia TRD Pro is white with black and its very nice. I picked this one because it caught my eye and it was the only one available within 500 miles. I would have had to order and wait months which I have done many times, but I needed it right then. Thanks for watching.

Do you mean like the Lexus GX460? They are very similar, but the Lexus is the exact same as the Land Cruiser Prodo which we do not have in the US. With the negative changes to our environment I can see more economical engine in the near future with better Torque figures and probably a Mild Hybrid system at least. I am afraid the V8 will be no more sooner than later 😔

Hey there @miked6463 the 20-21 come with the TRD cat-back exhaust. You can hear it in the cabin for sure, but it isn't raspy. My wife thinks it sounds good if that answers your question. At highway speeds and just normal driving with the radio off you can hear it slightly inside, but its nothing that bothers anyone. Nothing compared to what the TRD Pro Tundra can do at 2.3k RPM on the highway 🤪

It was very hard to keep this clean with all the snow when this was filmed. So it just got a rinse with the hose before this video. I am sure there are a lot of spots if you look very hard.

@halvey123 I was worried about this too coming from many trucks before that had a CD player, but with the new updates to the infotainment system and Entune 3.0 with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto they went for the larger screen and more options and took away the CD player. I have had to put my son and I's rotation of Beach Boy CD and Alice In Chains on digital format and play through CarPlay or Bluetooth which works great.

@@TorqWorks Too bad, the only car(s) I have found for 2021 with a standard CD player is the Subaru Forester, and for the Outback it is a factory option which sits in a box in between the seats. Are you aware of any others? I like to listen to books on CD while driving.

@@halvey123 I will look into that for you. I know there are some players out there that will connect via usb through the infotainment system. What I have found so far is on Amazon. I will see if I can find a good rated one that is proven to work for you.

Is the heated steering wheel an option on some 4Runner trims? I can’t imagine living in my cold climate without heated wheel and seats.

From what I can find there is not an option for heated steering wheels from the factory. Not even on the limited trim. I will say that with the air vents just to the left and right of the steering wheel and the heated seats I have never found the wheel to get very cold after running it for just a few moments.

Really well. Thanks for asking. I do my own detailing so it is protected much of the time. I've never had an issue with Toyota paint except for a VooDoo Blue Scion xB I had when I was younger. The paint was very thin and chipped easily. So much so that Toyota sent us a free gift with some paint repair in it LOL. Midnight Black Metallic paint, the Silver they have and several others are more like a tricoat paint.

Thanks for the vid!! Great stuff!! I started the ordering process today for mine - they also said the sliding rear cargo deck is not available for the Pro. They didn't say it was for weight restrictions, but that's what they told you right? It's odd because I've seen a couple videos of Pro's with the sliding cargo deck. But my dealership said its a no-go and even that another customer got "pretty hot" about it not being available. Toyota should take it off the website because it's still on there when you build one out.

You can either get the steps or the slide deck from the factory. You can't get both. Sounds like what they are doing is only ordering you one with what is coming down the pipeline. What I mean by that is they are seeing VINs for ones scheduled or already made that have certain features. The sliding cargo deck is for sure an option. It was on my 2019. The worst part is it would be close to a nightmare to try and install after market if you are scared to drill holes into your 4Runner.

You can build it with the running boards or rear sliding cargo deck. Get the cargo deck cus you can add on the tube step or running board as an accessory. I wish I knew that before buying mine. I really wanted the cargo deck.

Hey there Dawn, thank you and Congratulations. You can move the bars around on the rack and even remove them, but the roof basket itself would take some work. You would have to remove all of the bolts. It can be done, but I wouldn't suggest it unless you have another one to go in it's place to make sure it is weather resistant.

Hello there, I removed mine off my 2020, it’s 8 t40 torx bolts and it’s off, I put the regular rails off a SR5 on mine in black, the roof rack on the pro is a bit on the bulky side, but it’s easy to remove, Toyota also has a kit to plug the holes if you don’t want anything up there at all, and the rack off a pro will fit any 5th gen 4Runner, just FYI, good luck.

He's right about the steps, plus they are too common as well. But more importantly they need a backstop so that your wife, kid or someone with small feet doesn't have their foot slip through to the other side and snap their ankle.

Hey man. Any issues with window rattle or bumper popping out in the corner near the headlights?

No issues so far. Did you check the clips under the bumper cover to make sure they are all intact? Of all the 4runners I've ever had the only rattles I have hear are when the seat belts aren't put back right and they hit the doors or when I didn't put the rears seats back the way they needed to go.

How many miles per full tank does she get?

When on the interstate I can around 400+ miles to a tank. I would say a safe average is 350 Miles to a tank combined. It can do a little more, however, Toyota keeps an unlisted reserve amount of fuel on all/most of their vehicles to keep the fuel pump from over heating. So it holds 23+ gallons and the fuel light will come on when it gets down to around the 19 gallon mark. If you need anything else just let me know.

I did over time, but at the time of this video which was a year ago, they didn't have the best options for the type of headlight hosing the 4Runner uses. LEDs have become much better with less heat.

Hey there Jasper, a light foot on the pedal and keeping the Gross Vehicle Weight way down. Driving from Texas to Florida was my first trip in it and we got 22.7 MPG. Like I said not everyone will get that there are just too many factors. I never drive over 70MPH either.

You can but it would take some modifications. They engineered it with specific under hood operating temps in mind so I wouldn’t suggest doing it but if you buy and it’s your money.

It varies around town but I do 90% interstate driving. I’ve got over 19.8-21 in every 4runner I’ve driven since 2014. All the same 4.0l with 5 speed automatic. Nothing has changed but the appearance. Keep tires inflated to 35-40psi. Drive light and don’t over load the payload.

Thank you for the amazing video showing your review of your 4 runner. Your video was the final decision maker for me. I owned a 2012 FJ Cruiser red trail team with 10,253 miles. It was my toy and I never owned a vehicle I was more attached to. It was destroyed 03/ 16/ 21 and it was way beyond repair. It went to Salvage, and after a long campaign with friends we were not successful with locating one close to mine. I was so confused until I watched Your preview I was on the fence. So thank you. Question, you mentioned you Something about turning off day running lights. Kasey Carpenter.

Kasey I am so sorry to hear about the Fj Cruiser. I too had one in 2014 and I was devastated when I had to let it go. Thank you so much for watching. I am so happy to hear that this video on the 4runner has helped you. This is exactly why I do this. I love to help and cars are my passion. You will grow to love the 4Runner TRD. It has a lot in common with the FJ and you can mod it to make it your own. The engine and transmission you will feel right at home. Yes you can turn those off in the Entune system. Good question/point. Easy answer is no, it is not vinyl. SofTEX is a soft to the touch, breathable, and UV protective leather like product. Easier on the environment with no harsh chemicals or animal products. Not sure why this is such a huge topic on here. Where and when this was filmed it was mandatory and enforced that you wear a mask. This is a public area and there were TONS of people all around including 3 officers and a park ranger.

Paid $51,500. If you know TRD Pro, you know you are lucky not to pay $5k-10k over sticker. A few get lucky and pay Sticker.

@@CHARLESSBRONSON Do your homework first. Search Autotrader.com or other sites for new ones around your area and make them match it. The more people that pay over sticker the more will try and get away with expecting it. You can go on Toyota.com and build and price one, look at the summary with destination and you shouldn't pay more than that. There is a mark up or Toyota and dealers wouldn't be in business. I am just stubborn and won't pay over stick. I always ask for everything and play hard ball. I ask for low interest or secure my own financing, I ask for them to pay taxes if I am not trading, I ask for extras and of course money off. I hope this helps. If you have any other questions I am happy to help.
