Many people with custom built rifles have never shot an AI. I’d also put money on that if you dropped most custom builds down a mountain they wouldn’t take it like an AI would.

@@trob205 You're right, there is actually a custom rifle fail video Competition Dynamics put out years ago, then they showed a bunch of Accuracy Internationals working under the same conditions that were jamming up the custom sticks. The tight tolerances, the Jewell triggers, none of them work in the field like people expect them too, which is why we shoot AIs in the first place. They are every bit that good.

I have an AI atx and I love it but I will say I just can't stand the action. It's very heavy bolt lift and wants to nose dive and bind up unless I make sure to push forward and down. I'm sure if it was my only rifle ide get used to it but compared to every other custom action I have ran I don't have that issue and the ai slows me down. Aside from that the thing is built like a tank and just as accurate. All my customs basically shoot one hole so hard to say one is more accurate than the other. But one note to consider is look at any video of an atx and you will see the scope mounted a little high. Look at the bolt it comes back under the cheek rest vs most guns it's in line or over the cheek rest. Because of how low it sits and my scope being mounted low I really have to shove my face into the cheek rest to get a good visual. I actually have been shooting without the cheek rest until I can order some new rings lol

I think we were 5.5 at 900 with the PRC, our DA was 6000ft

@@SHLowlight : 6000' in elevation? I'll need an oxygen bottle to get enough air to breathe at that altitude. I live at 435' feet.

So just for curiosity’s sake what projectile are you modeling in the 3 cartridges?

@@K-bob_45 : Used three similar sized cartridges for this scenario. The .308 winchester with a 175-grain bullet with boat tail. The 6.5 Creedmore. And the 6.5 PRC cartridge. Used an air density where I live at 435' above sea level. Frank & crew are at 6000' above sea level. The air, oxygen content, at 6000' above sea level would make it very difficult for me. Always breathing like I'm running the Boston Marathon.

@@whomagoose6897 that just seems like a turdly 308 load. My mild 308 load was only 9 mil at 900 with a 175 smk and that’s a dated bullet. 800 ft/asl 2572 ft/sec

@@mrmidnight32 there are also more glocks in holsters around the world than Akai 2011’s and more civics on the road than Porsches. AI makes their rifles the way they do for a reason. I hope they continue doing so

The lower center of gravity to the bore (barrel line up to Scope) terms of stability... effect efforts.. Basically no one else has this technology in there Chassis or Stocks... It makes huge improvements... over all I think its Amazing but for the money they should just include a Proof research Barrel.... Otherwise other systems will be fun to make up your own but you'll always have interchangeable parts with other actions... Other end Action would be American rifle company Nucleus 2.0 best Value on the market...

more for us - i put down my $$ immediately. Have a AI ASR and before that 2 other AIs, nothing compares.

What's funny is if you go to Impact Precision (they make great guns) they want like 4.5k for a ready to ship competed working rifle. And that doesn't have a QD barrel system. So it isn't really that much cheaper. Building it yourself piece wise saves a few $$$ but that's not really a fair comparison.

@@mrmidnight32 go be poor somewhere else, you clearly dont know what rifles cost today. Plus is switch caliber the same as the other rifles. Spec out a custom competition rifle let me know what you pay. The most common actions in competition are $1500, another $700 for a barrel, that is close to 1/2 with not labor or stock. Get a clue, costs are up, the lowest production class in completion is a $5k rifle an scope combo. That is entry level.
