@@509livin8 I have. 2018 model year. Hoping for something like the typeS Acura TLX. The the market right now on a well equipped performance sedan is in high demand. I currently drive the civic. So my next upgrade would be like a typeR or TypeS Waiting for these to hit dealers..
@@209Bravo, I'd say the 2.0T is a pretty good match for any TL Type S up to this point. Maybe not as luxurious inside, but in terms of power and handling its def up there. This changes when we finally see the twin turbo v6 in the TL of course.
@@ombmuzik871 family sedan vs. Supercar? I can hear the violins playing already...dramatic much? The only reason this was close was because the bimmer driver was sleeping off the line and doesnt know how to launch his car.
@@nighthawk0077 yes a drive mod with slicks on the BMW would be a different story but I'm willing to bet the results will still be interesting. Oh yeah there are plenty of "family sedans" that will give that car the business.
Everyone is laughing in the comments but this was actually a very sad performance from the M4, granted probably has to do more with the inexperienced driver trying to launch it but still
They can launch very well for a rwd car with more than the “503hp” they claim. Driver needs more experience or whatever the reason was. Could’ve warmed up the tires and launched it
Accord its a family car with a turbo. It cannot take fast corners because its too heavy, it wont hold a full track cricuit competition because it will overheat, brakes wont last . You cannot drift with an accord or make donuts.
@@BrandonBerrios looll i work for bmw and i can say 100% sure that they are garbage. No matter what year they are. They always go to service once a months if you don hit the gas too often loll
BM wheels was screeching during launch. Obviously, not an experienced race driver. Would have been an embarrassment for the BM if he would have lost. Good race!!
@@SSDracerSD going to be flying across the country to pick up a manual one and drive it home. cuz they so damn rare… i know the automatic faster but man ima have so much fun in the 6mt
Knowing the 10AT is faster than the 6MT makes me weep a little, especially when trying to get out of the hole and 1st is essentially useless :( #savethemanuals though :)
I say manuals still are good for cars under 500 hp, unless you're a godlike manual driver, more gears, more torque in each gear and better use of the power of the engine is just superior, add that to a fast shifting automatic.. Yeah, I believe they still should mkae manual trans for cars, but I don't believe it belongs in supercars or cars that have alot of power. But I appreciate GM making the zl1 a manual. Hurts its performance but it isn't bad.
Lol 😂 really?. How?. Do you think that m4 would risk breaking traction and crashing just to beat a silly honda?. 😂 M4 launched so slow it still manage to catch up to that slow honda and beat it.lol. Come on now.
@God Trojan not even close all it takes is a minute to watch other M4s in the 1/8 and you will know this isn’t the the rule it’s the exception. The fact you have 14mph between the 2 cars speaks volumes.
@@TheOhsemix yes we know the mph difference. Every one here is saying there's a huge difference between the cars. That's why the M4 is so embarrassing. This was real world results.
Accord did good but the M4 had a launch failure for sure. I say Driver error for a 8.80 in the 1/8 but I don't own an M4 so Im speculating LOL.. Cool video to have launching on an M4 at the track tho!!!
I own both of these cars. The BMW launch control is terrible and very inconsistent. Regardless the FWD car out launched a RWD car on a sticky track. Lol. Of course if this was a rolling race it would not have been as close. I will say the Maintenance on the bmw has been significantly more. My accord has almost 200k miles on it now as it’s my daily driver and I use it for trips etc. Honda is still on original original spark plugs. The only maintence I have ever done is oil changes. Standard oil not synthetic. Tires brakes battery cabin and engine filter. My accord has the best ac system of any car I have ever owned by far. I have had every brand luxury car out there and the ac in my Honda is significantly superior. The brakes on the Honda for all 4 wheels were just under $500 at the dealer. BMW was just under 4K for all 4 wheels. I have had a lot more maintenance cost on the bmw and the accord has never given me an issue even with all the miles on it.
bruh that 2.0t accord has to be one of the best cars on the market, good price point, good mpg, good looks, and really good speed all for a four cylinder "family sedan", on 93 octane with octane booster and a high performance intake this thing is pushing 300+ hp easily
@@JustinSherrod1991 yeah I know it's the 8th. For the money and HP difference he should EASILY be able to win by more than half a car. Truth be told, the M4 shouldn't be spinning it has launch control.
You did great at the launch, goes to show, as I say, its usually not the car itself, the driver has everything to do with it after. (Just because you got money for a car, doesn't mean you don't know how to handle it, or take care of it.)
The Honda Accord 2.0 T are very fast. I have had my chance to play around a bit with one and they are not slow at all. My TLX Type S is only .5 half seconds faster until I do the JB4 and it really transforms the Type S. But overall though for the price in point you are getting its hard to beat that for the luxury and price point you are getting.
@@fel1xxfel1xx60 I mean the Accord almost won, So yea it can touch an M4 if tuned and FBO correctly and also depends on the driver, M4 would smoke on the long run yes, also these cars are not in the same class level. Give the Accord some respect!
@@quakerome4594 😂🤣😂 Okay let me break it down for some of you dummies. When you’re making real power, having stock tires will always spin on you, should the m4 of had slicks?. Sure. But it didn’t and it would’ve destroyed that silly honda off the launch. Well since the m4 has stock wheels and spins off the line, WHY would you jeopardize your expensive car vs a cheap honda?. 😂 This video shows, the longer the race the more humiliated that honda would’ve been. It caught up to it like nothing. Any car that spins, you can even beat it for a few seconds even my just simply running 😂
@@fel1xxfel1xx60 You sound like a noobie car guy, you know nothing about cars and how people can build them. You are just a BMW fan boy and that's fine. But anyways, I hope you mature some day.
@@b1bo840 due to horrific driving but if you look at the mph difference it pretty much shows the accord is out classed. The BMWs mph indicates it can actually run high 7s which would obliterate the accords 9 second pass.
Terrible launch from M4 and still walked it. Wasn’t even close at all, not sure why anyone acts like the honda was hanging cause it wasn’t. That said, props to the accord for even getting on the same track as that weapon
Horrible reaction time for the BMW. In drag racing reaction is essential. Seeing that the BMW caught up in no time means that if he got a good reaction he would've won.
Lol I just bought a 2021 Honda 2.0 sport two weeks ago love that thing it’s almost as fun as driving my pontiac gto except I can stuff everybody in it an she still moves out!
The BMW went straight to the garage after this race, looking at this video. German cars are endless moneypit. That Honda will still drive like a new car in 2030.
No it won’t already got 26k miles on accord and it drives like shit now the Beamer will drive same for while , they just cost money to maintain but that’s why you don’t buy one if you broke
Lol the cars is doing fine a 14mph difference between the 2 is huge in the 1/8 mile. The drive just doesn’t know what he’s doing but the trap speed still doesn’t lie.
Naw Honda will end up in the junkyard first. Honda is definitely more reliable because it’s cheaper to maintain and easier to find parts but BMWs stay on the road longer. That’s why I can only find 171 results from every dealership in USA of any Honda older than 1999. And I can find 326 results for any BMW older than 1999. No body wants a old Honda from the 1990s or older lol but a lot of people want a old classic 1990s 1980s BMW because they’re collectible. Who collects Honda’s lol poors?
2021 m4 0-60 3.07 sec....2020 accord 0-60 5.8 sec. They're nowhere near close. The fact that you might have jumped and the M4 driver falling asleep at the wheel were the reason you had even a glimmer (albeit faint) of hope.
Was that m4 AT or MT? MT cars are hard to launch and even by a pro are slower than the zf 8 sp AT. 1) quicker shifts 2) can build up boost before launch 3) much lower gears making it outperform off the line Otoh, this works best in an xdrive car. The rwd versions spin like crazy and bmw TC over reacts. So there’s a lot going on. Tires, grip, transmission, brake boost?, gears, shift speed, and driver skill. What shocked me is how a fwd car came off the line well. It’s one of the worst configurations for launching
@@al6r725 hes talking about how somehow the honda launched faster than the bmw driver with the snail reaction time. It would be impossible. Its like a prius winning against a lambo...
People in the comment section are hilarious. That M4 has 2x the power of the Accord. If they had launched at the same time, it would have been a blood bath.
@@SSDracerSD Now that's where the fun begins! Careful with boosting that LT1 though. The pistons are the weak link above 600whp, as I'm sure you already know. I know those 6th gens very well. Might want to consider getting a piston and rod drop in setup from GPI before you boost it.
Great video! Still want to say accord literally start before the green light. I can catch a moment that the accord wheel moved while the light is still yellow. That gives it accord a huge advantage at the beginning.
Well I got news for you genius ... When you red light at any drag strip you get RED LIGHTED and it shows at the end of the track / where they show the times, and don't even show your time. They also would've announced that he red lit.
@@lewokejames this actual genius found frame footage of where the wheel moved before the red light... Could have been a mistake on their end.. if he claims he has a frame in the video where he moved before it started... what are you arguing?
@@blocksource4192 ok so what if it occurs in a red light district, at .003 seconds B4 a green light yet after the finish line but with your passenger mirror turned inward?

@@BK_2016sr5 They don’t even use the ram head anymore. They spell out Dodge now in the vehicle. And if you truly knew your Bible than when Abraham was asked by God to sacrifice Issac, instead God sent a ram as a symbol that obedience and that it was just a trial of faith and for him to use the ram instead and it was tax in the thickets. Sooo… maybe you should find a pastor who knows his Bible and not for profit and maybe you should learn your Bible and not just go to church for attendance. Or maybe you just can’t afford the Hellcat. Must have been a M4 owner setting this race up to see if it was overspending for the car in the first place, or racing an Accord to prove it’s the Ultimate Driving Machine lol
@@brendanst1979 sorry but you can’t be more wrong the BMW can go 7s in the 1/8 that’s light years away from the accord. And I’m not talking magazine numbers I’m talking drag strip numbers from average folk. This BMW was the exception not the rule.
no... it is not fast... but it is quick for what it is and the price. You’re paying ~32-38k for a family sedan... Of course the M4 would beat it, it’s meant to race. You’re simply upset that this family sedan that a middle class citizen family could afford almost beat the MSRP $71k M4 (in this instance.)
@@nqrdman that’s not it hoss it’s the fact you have a bunch of people with very little drag strip experience that don’t know 9.2 in the 1/8 is average. The BMW was the exception not the rule since they have been seen running low 7s in the 1/8 stock.
So many poor people here that know nothing about cars, don't understand that their 32k Honda is not a 11 second 1/4 mile car hahah they think 0 to 60 in 5.5sec is fast lol my m4 does it in under 3.6secs
All the new M cars do 0-60mph in 4 secs or quicker, There’s no comparison. And yes the BMW spun that’s his fault what a dummy. Glad the civic felt cool for a day lol

@@motortoys9942 Re-read my first comment, fanboyeee. It was more like two cars, btw. Imo, BMWs are overpriced, maintenance nightmares. And like you stated, unreliable. When they’re running though, they run well. The 2.0T Honda platform is definitely a force to be reckoned with as well. I miss my old ‘97 Prelude 5-speed. Still the silkiest shifter I ever utilized. Handled like it was on rails, got good gas mileage, and was reliable. It also ran real well.
With the right tires and perfect weather with a excellent driver the Honda would’ve gotten smoked but that’s not what happened 💀that was completely embarrassing
Lol....same applies to Honda then. Right tires, perfect weather will still bring same result. In fact in a street race where speed limit is usually 40 to 45 the M4 will lose every single time and that's absolutely hilarious!!! In this video the M4 didn't pass until they were doing past 60 mph. That's super pathetic for the BMW which is almost 3 times the price!!!!!!!
One thing is clear and it is that an M4 of that price, no matter how much we want to test our car, we also want to protect it from breakage and I think that was the case, it is clear that the BMW came out very weak at the start and applied all the power after the second change, compared to the honda used coughs its power from the start. That is my humble appreciation of this race
Automatics are better than manuals in racing applications. Eliminates most of the driver's input errors. The only thing human related at that point would be reaction time.
My 2017 Maxima SR Midnight edition can stay right with the M4. My Maxima is putting out 320hp since I've installed a Stillen full cat back exhaust system and Stillen cold air intake.
